I'm really liking this. Just one thing...Are we supposed to actually LIKE or feel sympathy for Sky's father? He's…
Yes, I agree. I thought his dad might be a good guy that is forced to have bad connections, but he's just as nasty as the rest of them. Plus he adopted a child for purely selfish motives.
my biggest issue with this is the blatant fetishizing. step-siblings, teacher student and a three way relationship…
I'm with you. It was a very uncomfortable series at times and some of the production decisions were very questionable. We had a strange overlap of standard BL addressing the propriety of a relationship between stepbrothers and I don't think it could resolve it adequately.
Just finished watching this. Not the worst BL, but nowhere near the best either. Generally the cast was good, but they were let down by a lame script and some really embarrassing scenes. The sudden DRAMA!!! moments were particularly bad. It's a bit of a trope these days to say a series like this would have been okay years ago, but it's true. We now have some series that are genuine quality, not just quality by BL standards, and yet something like this gets made.
One of my biggest problems with this series was that it just felt unwholesome. I could maybe have tolerated the stepbrothers if the parents weren't around, but portraying a happy family, whilst the brothers are trying to jump one another was a bit off-putting. Also, the adults having an interest in younger characters (high school students) was gross. You had the teacher essentially grooming Maping (who is adorable, btw) and so it felt like it was normalising something that should be abhorrent. Yes, Maping knocked back the teacher, but it shouldn't have even come to that point. The onus for it not happening should be on the adult.
And why is it that so many good shows aren't given a second season, but we are be threatened with a second season of this?!? Not to say that I have to watch it, but we already know everything that comes with a second season.
This series has my whole heart!!! I'm praying for season 2 :')
I usually roll my eyes when I see people asking for a second season, but I'm rolling my eyes at myself because I would love a second season of this. 😆
I really enjoyed this series, despite it being far from the best in terms of story and production. I still can't articulate the reasons why I liked it so much, but I'm really disappointed it's over. Unfortunately, the ending felt a little abrupt and the loose ends of the other stories were wrapped up in a somewhat unsatisfying way, but we did get a happy ending. I almost want them to remake this and iron out the flaws and we would no doubt get a much better series. There was a great cast, but I think they were trying to pursue too many storylines so we didn't get the development we needed. Anyway, I will miss Bomb and Jin.
As one of the series I was looking forward to a lot, this turned out to be a massive disappointment. With a requirement of 2 episodes per couple, they should have been able to create some remarkable stories, instead we had tedious episode after tedious episode filled with nonsense. Maybe if I hadn't had any expectations I wouldn't feel this way, but the previews made it look like something truly special.
Although I tolerated some of the stories without really enjoying them, the only one that stood out to me was Thurs/Pao/Pae. That is the only one I would have enjoyed as a standalone series. The only upside to this series is everyone probably found a story/couple they liked.
Despite being the final episode, I gave up about 3/4 through. It was more of the same rubbish we'd had in most of the previous 14 episodes and the sound effects every 5 seconds started to irritate me.
Okay, so after the first episode my expectations are set to zero. I don't mean it is bad as such or going to be bad, but I doubt it's going to be brilliant. I may be pleasantly surprised, but I think this is going to be one of my filler shows while waiting for others to air.
Is it me, or is it terrible on behalf of the parents to announce they are together/married once they're already married? I'd feel incredibly awkward if my father or mother just turned up with a new partner one day and said oh, btw we're married, and you now have a step-brother.
Anyway, the only remarkable thing about this series is that they are wearing trousers. Is this the first BL where the cast haven't been wearing shorts? 😆
This Friday is the last episode?!!! I felt like I got robbed of a developing story of Keam and Ball! Matter of…
Yes, there is too much to be resolved satisfactorily. I'm hoping maybe they'll set up some of the stories for a second season, rather than rush endings for everything.
I understand some of the negativity towards this series, but personally I've really enjoyed it. I knew nothing…
Yes, Bomb is more of an instigator, but I just like seeing them together and hugging in bed. Just little things like that. There is an imbalance between the two, but I think when you get someone pursuing someone else, the pursued will tend to take the actions of the pursuer for granted.
I think the end scene, like a lot of the episodes, will have more detail to it explaining the actions in the next episode. I feel like Jin maybe realises that he has been thoughtless towards Bomb and the truth hurts. Or maybe it was just same random crying that makes no sense whatsoever. 😆
I don't want to be a total apologist for this series. I know there are faults, and I would love there to be better explanations for the motivations of some of the characters, but I am enjoying it nevertheless.
Reading the comments, it kinda seems like a lot of people had high expectations and are frustrated.... here is…
I didn't know anything about this series before watching and had no expectations. I saw a couple of the comments on here that weren't terribly favourable, but I always prefer to make up my own mind. I'm so glad I watched this series. Despite its faults, it does have a charm. I may even go so far to say I would like a second season. 😅
I think your explanation of high hopes being dashed runs true for me and other series, in particular Y-Destiny. If I'd gone into it thinking it might be terrible and it was (which it is) I wouldn't have been so soundly disappointed.
Agree with you! In fact, that is why I feel this show is kinda very realistic! Rather than being too dramatic.…
I think this is part of the reason I love it. It does feel realistic. We're watching Bomb and Jin get together (with some help/hindrance from their friends) but without the screeching shippers or other BL stereotypes.

There's something I really enjoy about the relationship between Bomb and Jin. I find it (by BL standards) fairly realistic and I like the affection and tenderness they show one another.
In a response to one of my other comments, someone said it is calming and laidback, which I'd agree with. I like watching the developing relationship and the uncertainty a new or potential couple face. Yes, nothing really happens, but there are plenty of other series where it does, so for this to be a slower, less frenetic series is appealing to me.
Also, the clumsiness and imperfection of this series either adds to its charm, or I overlook it because it has just hit me in the right spot. Despite saying I love this series, I don't mean it is the best series, but I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching it. When I see other people criticising it I totally understand where they are coming from, but I wouldn't try and convince anyone this is a masterpiece, just worth giving it a go.
like I am enjoying this series very much so far, what just happens in ep 9 that people are so triggered?? I'm…
I've spent most of this series seeing the comments and expecting to end up hating it, but I just watched episode 9 and still love it. It's far from perfect, but it's been enjoyable to me.
