I came here to see if it’s worth watching, but after the comments, I’m really starting to doubt it LMAO.
I understand some of the negativity towards this series, but personally I've really enjoyed it. I knew nothing about it before watching it, but I'm really glad I started. There have been some series that I've absolutely hated, but only seen positive comments on, so it'll all come down to personal preference.
I still love this series. I really can't explain it fully, but it just strikes the right emotional note with me. The production itself isn't perfect and there's a bit too much going on with the other characters to keep track or fully understand what they are up to, but I just really enjoy Bomb and Jin's relationship.
This came up in my recommendations and had no idea what to expect. Although it started as feeling quite amateurish and awkward, there was quite a sweet and sensitive story underneath it all. It could very well have done with some more polish, but seeing what an abomination something like Y-Destiny has been with much higher production values behind it, this 2-part outing wasn't terrible.
Ugh, even by Y-Destiny standards 14 was massive cringe. I could barely watch it. Tediously slow. And probably one of the most ridiculously stupid deaths I've ever seen in any series. What could have been an amazing series has (mostly) been a massive pile of rubbish. 7/8 to me was the only truly decent story and I will never ever ever be convinced that 9/10 was any good. I feel bad for many of these actors thinking they were being given such an opportunity to star in this and being given absolute nonsense to work with.
I love the interactions between them too. There feels something realistic (for a drama) about them. I adore the…
Haha. Maybe. I'd seen some of the comments before I was up to date with this series, so was expecting I'd finally hit the episode where it all went wrong and I'd agree with what was being said. However, I've really enjoyed this series, it may have its faults but I've throughly enjoyed seeing Jin and Bomb.
Jin and and Bomb are one of my favorite couples on interactions alone. Because I find it so refreshing to see…
I love the interactions between them too. There feels something realistic (for a drama) about them. I adore the small signs of affection, like hugging in bed, which is sadly lacking from other series even with couples who have meant to have been together for an extended period of time. With some couples you barely get a handshake between them, let alone any real affection.
I couldn't explain why if you asked me, but there's something about this series I love. It's a little chaotic and I'm not sure what's going on some of the time, but I do like the exploration of the emotions between Bomb and Jin. Maybe the uncertainty isn't deliberate, or maybe it's a total mess, or maybe it's hit me in the right spot, but I'm willing to forgive its faults. Perhaps because I didn't know anything about it beforehand and hadn't formed any expectations I'm not slamming this like I would a similar series, but I'm willingly along for the ride.
This was such a lovely, sweet series which I enjoyed from beginning to end. It wasn't too deep, but had a nice story and really good performances. Sometimes you don't need the emotional rollercoaster or dramatic intensity of some dramas, and the humour and lightness of this made it an pleasant change. The 4 main actors played their roles so well and created some memorable and endearing characters. I can't wait to see them in other series.
Just watched episode 5 and I'm really liking this series. There's a nice simplicity about it. We just get to focus on the emotions of the characters, rather than ridiculous scenarios. It still feels a little unpolished in places, but seeing I knew nothing about this series before I started watching it and had no established expectations, I'm enjoying it a lot.
Oh, and does anyone else think that Keam/Kong has a slight Singto look about him? Not identical, but if you found out they related somehow you wouldn't be surprised?
The white one wasnt too bad. But yea...that heart jumper was REALLY ugly. Some ppl were saying he was embracing…
Haha. Indeed fugly. When I saw him walking into the theatre I thought the heart was just flesh-toned, and thought no way is he wearing something with a cut-out, but when I saw it was actually a cut-out... yikes.
I just thought the white outfit looked like pyjamas. I thought the shirt with the long collar was hideous, but when paired with the pants it was ridiculous. I could have tolerated the shirt if he'd worn it with different pants but as a complete outfit, just no.
Despite being a hopeless romantic, I would have almost been happier/content with a more ambiguous ending than what we got. Like, Oh turns up at the wedding, but they don't reconcile, or they talk but don't immediately get back together, but it is suggested they do. After the best part of 5 episodes with such a heavy tone, they wanted to give us a happy ending, but it wasn't so realistic or satisfying for them to end up together.
I wish Boss had directed/written this because ITSAY was close to perfection. No criticism of the director as such because he did Skate Our Souls, which is up there as one of my favourite series, but I don't think he got the same out of Billkin and PP that Boss did. Maybe that was because of the script, or the content as it is difficult to get the same positive emotional impact when you have a couple that is drifting apart, as opposed to a couple getting together.
And I thought Y-Destiny had some ugly outfits, but some of what they had Oh wearing in this series was completely wtf. That white outfit he wore to the play was... I have no words. And that heart cut-out jumper...
Not saying this was bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it definitely wasn't another ITSAY. I never felt like it had the same emotional impact, which may be down to the subject matter, but most of the episodes had this melancholy tone, which made it quite heavy to watch. Not quite wanting to unsee this series, but where I was at the end of ITSAY knowing there would be a second season, to what we ended up with, I would be a lot happier going back to that point.
Well, I've come not to expect much from this series, but 13 was a yawn. Way too many pauses, mournful staring, 20 different camera angles of the same scene. Just get on with it. I know they are trying to portray the character's sadness, but it just comes across as 'we have 20 minutes of content, but an hour to fill'. The scene at the cinema, well, both cinema scenes, were laughable. And don't even get me started on the beggar's wig!
Somehow we get other series that can wring 13 episodes out of the flimsiest of premises, but this series really struggles most of the time to fill 2 episodes with a half-decent story. I think the concept behind the overall series was unique and the individual stories have merit, but the execution has been lazy. I was especially looking forward to this series because the previews made it look amazing, but they didn't deliver on that promise. What makes it worse to me is that they have good actors, but they haven't used them to their best ability, which is such a shame. If this was 5 years ago, most of this could be forgivable, but we should be at a point where making a good series should be paint-by-numbers, but maybe they know that even if isn't the best series that people will still watch it and regrettably I have found myself in that category.
I don't want this to come across as a purely negative rant, I'm just disappointed that something that could have been so good has been such a letdown. I know people have enjoyed different episodes for different reasons, and that's a positive I guess that there's been something for everyone. If I had given up on this series after the first episode I would have missed 7/8, which to me was the best story, so that was my reward for sticking with this. Anyway, 2 episodes to go and maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Fingers crossed. :)
Really hope I'm not the only one that laughed when Puth was telling Masuk and Tir's tragic backstory with sad…
That felt so awkward. Like, let's try and build this emotional scene, and then have this character stumble in with English. Even if this was an English-language show, it would have been inappropriate.
I'm a bit late starting this and have so far only watched 3 episodes, but I'm enjoying it. There's something about it I can't put my finger on, like it's a bit primitive or rough around the edges, but it's not a bad series, in fact I kinda like it because it is that way. They have certainly got a good supply of handsome actors in this, and I'm happy to see some familiar faces too. :) Hopefully it doesn't fall in a heap or disappoint, but I'm definitely sticking with it.
I may be wrong, but I think that it wasn't about the scandal itself as much as the lead up to the scandal and…
Yeah, I picked up many of the not-so-subtle digs at the 2Moons fiasco. If CIWYW is even half-based in reality, that company is a really disgusting outfit.
Similar to one of the comments below, I thought Kaprao would play a bigger part and my confusion as to the story lead me to believe it was predominantly about the scandal. I will really have to try and track down that trailer I saw because I could have sworn it showed James central to the scandal, but maybe I drew the wrong conclusions.
