I guess the thing I don't like about, or maybe the reason I didn't like 9/10 was that it was a toxic relationship. So many of these series, or some TV shows or movies tend to normalise toxic relationships. I see two people who should never be together because the foundation of the relationship is so bad, but somehow we are supposed to believe or be happy they end up together.

I don't know how many times I've seen the story of Person A likes Person B, Person B doesn't like Person A, Person A starts to like Person C, Person B gets jealous or 'realises' they like Person A, Person B tells Person A they now like them, so Person A and Person B end up together, and Person C gets screwed over. The End.

This is just really unhealthy and I don't like it.

I'm with you. I seriously think I was watching the parallel universe version of 9/10. For most of the episodes I've felt I'm on the same page as most of the people watching, but I'm in a completely different galaxy with these last two episodes. Zero chemistry, tedious story, annoying music. This must be the worst out of all the episodes so far. And for the 'sex' scenes, I've found hotter things in my freezer.

Seriously, 9/10 was the biggest load of rubbish. The constant background music was so annoying and the absolute lack of chemistry between any of the members of the triangle was painful. With 7/8 I was hoping it wouldn't end, but with 9/10 I never thought it would end.

The tedious scenes of several angles of the same person just standing there looking dumbfound, drove me mad. Kaeng was a character that had zero appeal to me and Payu was about as bland as his jumper.

Yes, if I don't like it I don't have to watch it, but seeing how good 7/8 was, it just astounds me that the same team can create these other episodes that are massive disappointments.

I'm still enjoying this series so much. Can't believe we only have another 4 episodes to go. I think the characters are really good and the performances are great. I adore Meen and I think Louis plays him so well. The sad puppy look he had just makes me want to comfort him.

As a BL you could say the overall trajectory is predictable, but I'm really like that I'm not sure how we'll get there in the end. There are enough things to keep you guessing as to how we'll get there.

Jan always puts in a good showing. I absolutely hated her character in Who Are You, but then she can play such a fun character in this.

Btw, does anyone think that Koh occasionally looks like a baby Max? Like MaxTul Max.

Wow. Nice attitude. Where exactly did I disrespect anyone's opinion? I said I was shocked how much people liked it. And here's some advice for you, don't throw around insults.

Exactly. He seems to have it together in the other stories, but he was a big baby in his own episodes. It wasn't even cute, it was embarrassing. Feels like a totally different character.

Not to say this is the case with that piece of music, but years ago there was a song that was used in a lot of promos in my country and I loved it so much I called up the TV station to ask what song it was. They couldn't identify the song but said they sometimes have CDs (at the time) of music and songs that aren't actual full songs, they are snippets that are used for promos or just as backgrounds. I was so disappointed.

And we're back to nonsense. How could 7/8 be so good and all the other stories be so bad? They only have to get 2 episodes out of each story and yet you end up with so much nothing. I'm probably especially harsh with this series because the previews for it looked so promising. Anyway, the only upside is that if a story is bad you only have to struggle through two episodes and cross your fingers the next story will be better.

Edit. Gotta say I'm shocked to see how much people actually liked 9. I found it boring and the sex scenes were a whole lot of yawn. What a mess.

It really felt like a completely different team was behind this one. A real jump in story and acting or directing. The others stories had so much filler and nonsense, but this was a really engaging story and very well done.

With the first episode I just thought he'd be goofy and stupid, but he showed a great range of emotions and gave a great performance. The second episode had me breaking into tears every few minutes. Really well done. The definite highlight of Y-Destiny, so far. :)

I'm in agreement. I mostly liked the Max/Nat episode because of Max/Nat, but the story was semi-okay. The Thurs/Pao/Pae story was really well done, and not just by Y-Destiny standards, it was enjoyable by BL standards. Of all the stories so far, that is one I would have definitely enjoyed as a standalone series.

I really enjoyed 7/8. There was actually a story! It was sweet without being yuck and it had me feeling real emotion. Of all the stories so far this one felt like it had the most potential and it wasn't ultimately wasted. Thurs/Pao/Pae had really good chemistry and I'd love to see more of them together.

After the first couple I had zero expectations of this series, but when they try they can achieve something really good.

His character was very different between 5/6 and 7/8. He was embarrassingly childish in his own episodes, but seemed mostly 'normal' in the latest ones. Maybe having a boyfriend has matured him.

I watched on dramacool.

As a series it wasn't bad, but as a HIStory series it was a bit weak. The acting was good and there were some nice moments, but it just never felt like it was hitting the mark.

Another issue I'm having with some BL series, including this one, is that there's this overlap with gay characters or gay storylines. If I'm being a BL-traditionalist, the characters are not gay, they are only 'gay' for one another. When running BL characters parallel with gay characters it doesn't sit right with me.

I had to skip back during that scene because I was like, did he just eat a flower!?!!?!

I think Gene's words were prophetic. "I really can't think of the finale." That's what the last half an hour felt like. I would have been happy if it had wrapped up after they were reunited with some tying up of loose ends with the other characters, but all the fantasy stuff was just cheap cringe.

It was a mostly enjoyable series, with some flat points. Some of the self-referential toxic BL at times was a little heavy, but we got a happy ending so I'm not complaining about that.

I think Aoey's character had a lot of depth, but I was left wondering is he meant to be a sympathetic character or not. At times it felt like he was meant to, but he just seems like he has some issues that need a lot of help. Or he's a serial killer in the making.

I skimmed most of the flashback scenes in UWMA so didn't get to see much of Kao's performance, but I just adore the look he gets in his eyes in this.

Meen is easily my favourite character. Louis gives an amazing performance.

I'm loving this series so much. I loved the look of it from the previews and it hasn't disappointed me. It's worth it just for Meen, who is just one of the sweetest characters ever.

I'm really impressed with the performances of the cast despite them being so young. Especially Pond, who's only 20, he plays Mork with a real level of maturity.

I know people have had a problem with Pi, but I get the feeling he's been knocked down so many times that he's built up wall around him. I like the fact that he isn't totally one-dimensional, which plagues so many series.
