If you look into the backgrounds of bullies you will find they often learn what they live. In a way they can be…
You display a disturbing lack of empathy for his victims. Being victimized does not justify becoming a victimizer. It may lend insight, but it is not an excuse. Ji Soo is not the victim, in this, he is the admitted perpetrator.

Sure he deserves help, but he also deserves serious consequences. You are being an apologist.

The people bashing others for their opinions on forgiveness is beyond belief. You're all if not as bad as school…
I don't agree with people who say things like "kill him" but you and I are both Canadians and if someone here did some those things they would be investigated by the authorities, because they are crimes . If they felt there was sufficient evidence, the authorities would charge, they would be tried and if found guilty, they would be sentenced. If those sexual accusations were true, the person would become a registered sex offender.

In our country, the people making the accusations would not have to face the same amount of stigma and backlash as someone does in South Korea. Being a big fan of their dramas should give you an understanding of that and know that they may never get to have a day in court because of his celebrity status.

Jo Soo chose to do things. His letter and the recent agency statement all but confirm engaged in harassment and bullying, some of which may be criminal. If so, I do indeed hope that some sort of justice is served for the victims. He is the one who was abusive to them. He is not a victim.

Trauma is a thing that can last for an entire lifetime. It's very easy to just call upon victims to move on, sometimes…
And what I'm saying is that neither you nor I can really know where they are and if they are anywhere near where they need to be to move on. Ultimately, I (and I think, you) hope that for every victim.

I'm not going to write a novel about stages and growth and development here, but I'll say that the people who did what he did at his age very likely know they are doing something that is wrong. They often enjoy exerting power over others and lack empathy. Tie that in with having charisma, which gives them a base of admiration, and a person feels entitled to treat others with violence. You are beginning to seem desperate to defend this person: why is that?

Like the old saying goes: "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Like most people, I had enough sense to understand that I had no right to do anything like that to anyone else.

Why is that relevant? Abusive behaviour is abusive behaviour and is wrong for anyone to engage in, ever.

Better that bullies get "cancelled," as you put it, than given a pass because of their professions and or social status to clearly demonstrate how unacceptable the behaviour is. People choose to bully/take advantage/harm other people. I would think that it would be obvious...

its not our place to forgive for the victims... after all its not what we experienced
Again, that's not for you to determine. You don't know the nature and extend of their trauma. For example, if one of them experiences intrusive thoughts or experiences vivid flashbacks, they will require extensive assistance to to lay a foundation to get anywhere close to what you say they should just do. Your experience is not necessarily their experience. One-Size-Fits -All approaches to trauma do not work and can be seriously harmful to suggest. Please, stop.

Whether or not one is a fan or not doesn't matter. This is not about his work as an actor, no one should care about who he is but what he did.

You have every right to deal with your experiences in your own way, for yourself. As a trained professional in the field, though, I am comfortable with saying that you do not have the right to determine what their problems are, question their motives, and authoritatively say what they "must" understand.
