A warm romance

Such a warm warm story. A friend recommended it to me and I couldnt stop myself from watching it.

This is the kind of story that could almost be categorized as a Slow film. Nothing much happens here if you ask me plot wise.

Plot: the plot isn't anything out of the ordinary, however what really clinches the deal and sets it apart is the fact that this is a film that is devoted and really committed in understanding its characters. it is not a film that meets your expectations from a romantic comedy. its just different in the way it approaches romance. Taking it slow, it takes that phrase literally., There are no jumping out of the bushes, Screaming characters, crazy reveals or anything of the sort here.
The storyline is simple and has often been seen so many times before but this film takes it premise and then adds warm gentle heartbeats, sounds of the river, the sea into them. It Infuses simple, ordinary moments with a kind of rare beauty.

Acting: the acting was just so realistic. One could see the growth of these characters for another 2 hours according to me. Everyone is having a kind of crisis in this film but it isn't articulated through usual cinematic aesthetics. Instead one sees pain rarely articulated but instead so many other emotions can be seen on the face of these characters. The director makes us Care for its characters. That's a talent people rarely have.

Music: THIS IS AN AURAL DELIGHT. The music you will find here, you wont find anywhere else. Why? Because its literally ASMR. The film focuses hugely on your aural sensibilities. Its gets better when you close your eyes.

Rewatch value: Could watch it a thousand more times with my friends. Perfect for DATENIGHT.

If anyone is looking for a lot of frustration that is lacking from their own lives then they should watch this drama.

The only good thing about this show was the secondary romance.
Talking about the acting, first and foremost Yaya used to be a bearable actress when I watched her older dramas but now she has become a train wreck. She undoubtedly remains beautiful but in the acting department, all I see is a lot of crying. I cannot emphasis this enough, she cries once every 10 minutes in the show. Apart from that she faints and falls and clumsily acts as if she doesn't eat enough food. However, her character is strong and thick skinned when it comes to everyone criticising her and shaming her for everything. There is such level of slut-shaming in this show that it was beyond saving. That too without any evidence. The hero's lack of respect is the worst. It's like being in a relationship with a partner who keeps calling one a prostitute. He never accepts or apologies. The last minute begging isn't enough for me to forgive Thit's character.

Anger and aggression doesn't suit Mark in the least and this leads to such bad acting on his part that I was horrified. His character is beyond redemption in the show and quote illogical. Thit and his sister are the most illogical people in the show. There was a lot of unnecessary screaming and screeching and shoving people into doors in this show. Hated Jee's mother. Thankfully we are saved from any forced intimacy in this show from the leads parts which is a saving grace if there is any.

Plot: The plot seems very interesting on paper but its execution is sadly very lacking. This show had potential but then the melodrama and unnecessary jealousies turned it into a pathetic attempt at a revenge drama. It could have been so so good but alas!

Watch it if you want to claw your eyes out with frustration.
Recommended for people who like a badly executed story, bad acting, lots of crying and screaming and sub-power romance. An okay watch if watched without expectations (I had many because of the hype and sadly disappointed due to it)

If there could be a lakorn which could come close to perfection then this would be it!

Actin: Being my first Sean and Esther drama I had no expectations from either of them and frankly I was surprised. Sean is amazing as Sake. I am in love wit his character because he is so charming even when such a devil. He is a perfect blend of snarky, devious, possessive, protective and caring hero. I hated him with such fervour only to fall in love with his character halfway through. You hate him and love him in equal measure and by the end of the show his dastardly ways had given way to a gentle guy who loved our heroine with such deep passion. Coming to Kate, she isn't the smartest or the strongest of the bunch. But Esther is nonetheless a delight to watch. She is a typical heroine so nothing new there but Esther did her justice.

Romance: Spellbinding and achingly slow but a good slow burn. The romance is like a back and forth witty repartee between our leads. It is filled with childish chases around the house to a childlike pigtail pulling in the show. I love the teasing that they continuously engage in and its lovely to watch.
It's a fine line between being a rapist and teasing the heroine and Sean did his well. The romance does have those typical scenes of forces intimacy but given the cultural background, I'd say it is acceptable to a certain extent. The understanding and the care grows out of nights spent baking together rather than lust-addled brains of our hero or the sacrificial lamb-like innocence of our heroine. It is a relationship born out of force but stays due to mutual love, care and understanding.
Even the second lead romantic arc was cute to watch.

Drama: The show had absolute no drama in the in-laws department. The ladies in this drama were so refreshing to watch. The sister-in-law and mother-in-law were not your stereotypes of bitchy women but logical and smart and kind-hearted. Esther herself is a delight to watch in some scenes as this girl has some spunk despite crying throughout the show all the time. I loved the fiancee and hated the ex-wife with a vengeance. There is no girlfriend beating the heroine up here. Apart from Kate's family, most characters were bearable and quite nice in drama which is saying something because Lakorns have the worst kind of villains all the time.
First of all let me state right out that I am not a fan of Esther's crying and this drama had tons and tons of falling down, clumsily falling down, fainting, did I say falling? All the time. Oh Lordy I hated all of that but then this is a Lakorn and therefore to be expected. Her voice is kinda screechy like most drama heroines so she gets a pass there. I cut a 0.5 in my rating precisely because of her screaming and falling down acts. Unnecessary and stupid.
I recommend this to anyone who likes a good romance with a dash of teasing and melodrama mixed in.

King of High School is a drama that passed under many addicts radar.
Don't let that happen to you. Read on further and know why you should give it a chance. Bear wimme since it is a little long. :)

King Of high School doesn't bring anything new to the already established genre of romantic comedy. The plot seems predictable and the actors not veterans in their fields. What invited me in was definitely the awkward dance moves in the teasers that TvN released for this show which inspired many other upbeat teasers for many dramas by main broadcasters in Korea.

Seo In Guk certainly caught my eye and i have loved this man from his Reply 1997 days. Seo In Guk plays this high schooler who gets to be his hyung at his workplace due to some behind-the-scenes stuff happening. Romantic and office hijinks issue as the consequence of that. This drama takes some time to kick start so don't expect fireworks and instant excitement with this drama.

Seo in Guk was undoubtedly the star of the show. Every expression, every gesture and his body language genuinely expressed what he was feeling at that moment. Playing a high school kid when you are already 26 aint easy. to top it off the character of Min Suk was not easy to play. Seo In Guk played Min SUk with so much conviction that i wanted a high schooler of my own. His childish anger, his laughs, his arrogance, his smile, his pure and kind heart are all indications of a great man he is going to become. In that he is a plain contrast to the adults in the show who are too serious for their own good. Where Min Suk goes he turns everybody's lives upside down and gives them a taste of fun and cheerful stuff that life should be made of. . He is like a sun on a cold wintry morning because he brings warmth and screen presence with him. The fact that he is so handsome only adds on to this young actors talents. Did i mention how utterly awesome Seo In Guk looks when he curses? Mind blowingly hot that it makes me wanna curse too. :D

Lee Ha Na is purely a delight to see on screen. Soo Young is a total contrast to every other kdrama heroine because neither is she some naive innocent girl and neither is she worldly and arrogant. She is someone who goes all out for the ones she loves regardless of the fact that that could lead to some very awkward and downright embarrassing situations. That doesn't mean she is weak and cries all the time. She is one of the strongest heroines who knows when to open her mouth and spurt out some swear words or give some much needed advice or speak harsh words to set someone straight. Jung Soo Young will grow on you and after it is finished you will remember how strong, bubbly, lovable and adorkable she was. She is played with a lot of gusto and heart by Lee Ha Na and now im a fan.

The chemistry that Min Suk and Soo Young share is similar to having two high school kids experiencing first love for the first time. They are utterly adorable and totally childish with each other. The age gap didnt feel too much because in real life they are so close to each others ages and frankly Seo in Guk is too much like a puppy in love which just turns my heart to all time fangirl high.

The relationships in this show are the heart and soul of the whole masterpiece. The writer reminds me in a lot of ways of the writers of Reply 1997. Everybody and i mean literally everybody gets screen time in this show from the side office workers to the grandpa. The talent of a writer shows in the way they treat the show's smaller characters. The writer here gives them a life of their own irrespective of their contribution to the plot and fleshes out these characters who are least stereotypical and one-dimensional. I love the office workers who are a bunch of kids bowing to another kid. They fill the screen with lots of necessary laughs and cutesy side romances as well. This is possibly the second show after Can You Hear My Heart in which i loved Every.single.character barring just one.

The ever immortally handsome Lee Soo Hyuk came out of hiding and played a flawed and loveless man whose life is filled with thorns and after meeting the bright Soo Young understands that life is much more than money and success. His bromance with Seo In Guk is another highlight of the show and i loved all their childish quarrel, their little squabbles and bro fights.

Halbe and Min Suka should have a show of their own with the way they act like a family. The grandfather-father-son trio are a delight to look at with their sassy talks and crazy dinner table antics. Soo Young and Yoo Ah are probably the bestest of sisters in dramaland who are mature and know what family and relationships mean. The best friends of Min Suk deserve an applause for being such amazing besties who stand tall with their BFF through thick and thin.

There are no betrayals in the show. There is no villain. No bitchy women are here. No monster-in-laws. No meddling relatives. There is no action and neither any over the top stuff happening. Its just a slice of life drama unraveling before our very own eyes with a certain beauty.

Watch it if you are in mood of a little romance, some crazy laughs and adorable family relationships.

Secret seems like another run-of0the-mill melodrama but that is not the case.
The drama suffers from a inconsistent plot but what it lacks in that department it makes up in the other department-romance and addiction.

This drama is not to be looked over for the fact that this is one of the most addictive dramas i have watched in my life. I finished it in flat 1.5 days with few lunch breaks. The plot can be stupid and without any purpose whatsoever but i am a sucker for the kind of romance that this drama takes forward.
I have looked at Ji Sung only in Protect the Boss and he wasnt memorable there but here this man shines. He is the perfect guy to play the stalker-turned-friend-turned-lover. He is the type of guy you would abhor in real life because he is literally a hardcore stalker. ^_^ :D

Hwang Jung Eum shined in Can you hear My Heart and i have to give it to her that she has a very natural way of crying. She may not be the prettiest girl in town but she nails her role as the heroine.

The romance is the type where it hurts staying together and hurts more if staying apart. Its the classic Love-hate relationship and the ambiguous feelings of the heroine kept the relationship interesting.
It was deeply addictive because every second you wanted to know are they gonna start falling in love, now or when or if ever?

Lee Da Hee as Shin Se Yeon is your usual second lead girl but she is a little fresh in that she is always calm. Rarely if ever her calm breaks. However Shin Se Yeon could have been acted better.
I kinda hated Bae Soo Bin in 49 days and my hate solidified into disgust. The guy can't act for sure and his characters are the repetitive types.

It made use of the boring old cliches and tried recycling them. It doesnt bring anything fresh to my screen in terms of writing or plot developments. Many things were way over the top to be taken seriously and the melo does become very ridiculous in the starting episodes.
The best part of the series is that it starts very slowly and then builds on to a crescendo and it only falters in the last 2 episodes.

The one thing that made this an 8 in my book is how crazy one can be when it comes to love/hate/secrets. The protagonists are literally downright crazy. It was awesome seeing Min Hyuk being a crazy wacko guy. I love tragic/crazy/flawed leads a lot.

The music is pretty engaging and lends a nice touch to the whole "secret" that everyone is trying to hide.

Watch it for its addictive pace and the romance which slowly but nicely builds to a nice climax. Enjoy!!!

If you are looking for a romantic comedy then look elsewhere. This drama should not be watched if you are looking for a heart pounding plot.
but i promise you if you love watching flawed like characters grow, if you love touching music, if you are bored with the stock dramas in dramaland and want to try something new and if you are ready to be shocked episode after episode then this drama is for you.

This drama is not for the fainthearted or for the casual viewer. It took me whole of 17 episodes for me to decide if i love this drama or i hate it with a vengeance. This one lies somewhere in the middle.

None of the 4 protagonists are your stereotypical characters from dramaland. All of them are flawed and selfish enough to self destruct themselves and everything around them.

Eric Mun as Kang Tae Joo is forever etched in my mind as the bastard with the human heart. Don't expect to love him but he is the type of man who we love to hate. Eric did a fantastic job portraying his character and brought such range of emotions that i am shocked that this drama is so under appreciated and received low ratings in its time.

I stand conflicted if i love the heroine or not. She is something for sure. She is the most unique heroine you will meet in dramaland. She looks naive and stupid but you will get to know her slowly and understand the things that she does. If you get past that horrible hairstyle that Jung Yoo Mi portrays throughout then you will see that her acting is pretty darn good.

Their is quite a good chemistry between Tae Joo and Eun Soo. When I saw them together on screen i felt everything what they were feeling. Those simple touches, those hugs, those kisses. The chemistry is well done and their is no tight lipped kissing here. The Romance has a mature tone so no fluffy stuff here.

Lee Kyu Han continues to get supporting roles but this man seriously needs his own drama to bring out the acting that i know he is capable of. He is quite good as Shin Joon Hyuk and as the man who is utterly cold and lonely in his life.

Cha Hye Rin is the type of woman who is easy to understand and someone who is just as lonely as anything or anyone.

The protagonists live in the hell of their own making and that is why this drama is full of so much angst. Their is lot of crying and moping and emotions flying around but it is not driven by external factors. This drama shows that we as humans are selfish and base. It is twisted and dark but oh so lovely to watch. It is told with raw realism and something akin to as if the writer can read our mind. Some shots, some quotes will forever remain in my memories. This was an intense drama that slowed down and kept on picking itself up at the same time. Don't expect a plot here. There is a plot though and it is quite good but not much happens in the way we viewers are used to. All the 17 episodes were about these 4 lives and their entangling and their character growth.

The music is downright phenomenal from Gotan Project to "Moonrise"
this is too intense a drama to be rewatched again.

Give this one a chance..this starts a little slow but will be up and running in no time. Que Sera Sera will bring you a little closer to understanding the human nature and much closer to life's realities as well. But as Peter Bishop says "behind every cynic their is a romantic".

Brace yourself, its a long review. Please bear with me ^_^

Its just been few seconds since i finished this drama and I am coming here to rave about it. Let me tell you one thing and that is once you are finished with this drama you won't forget it. This is one of those sweeping dramas that are epic, heartbreaking and awesome at the same time.
The story is well written and driven and i never felt the show dragged even though my nerves did feel raw because of the heartbreak this show made me go through.

In Kim Jae Won I found an actor who is a rare gem and someone who needs to be more recognized for his acting abilities. He as Dong Joo nailed the role. I can't imagine anyone doing it better than him the role of a man who pretends to hear and when he makes a mistake just smooths it over with a smile. Jae Won is gifted with a smile that could move an iceberg. When he smiles you know you are smiling too.

What the drama did was made us realize that just because someone is handicapped doesnt mean they become less than human. The drama treated them with respect and dignity and i never felt that any of the characters were weak because of it. Dong Joo is a a guy who is strong and vulnerable at the same time. He isn't like normal kdrama heroes who are jerks but someone who loves and loves unconditionally. He loved his woman and was not a noble idiot like most heroes are. He had a warm heart that only needed some polishing by our beloved heroine.

The romance is pretty solid and Dong Joo and Woo Ri make an amazing pair and their is enough spark and cuteness in this two to make you fangirl over them like crazy. I am fangirling over them right now while writing this. They are just so cute and lovely together. Their courtship is given so much depth and intense emotion that now i am spoiled forever for any other guy but Dong Joo... :D

We have a heroine who is naive and may seem stupid but she is one of the strongest leads you will meet in dramaland. She has gone through stuff most of us would die than go through. She is gifted with a lot of heart and lot of love and she gives it unconditionally.

Bong Ma Roo is another character who i loved and hated at the same time. Dong Joo and Ma Roo can probably make a drama of their own bromance.I wish the director would give us another drama where it can be filled with these two's bromance.Their love for each other was sweet, profound and one for which they could die rather than give up upon.

Apart from strong acting and strong romance what this drama had and gave to me and taught me was that the saying "blood is thicker than water" is wrong. None of the characters in this play stay together because they have common blood between them but because they chose to love and live together and go through trials like its just another day. This drama taught that love aint ever easy but something that requires patience, sacrifice and a lot more for it to come to fruition and bring happiness.

Bong Woo Ri's family is a dream family where though they nag and swear all the time they are ready to lay lives in a second for their family. This drama teaches you so much that most people don't even take the time to look at in real life.

What this show taught me is that forgiving is not always easy but it is the first step towards healing oneself. It showed me that family is always their for your support and that is why it is a family. It showed me that loving my man is going to come with its own baggage but something that i can handle. It also taught me that every second person in this world is unhappier than me and is probably leading a more miserable life than me. What it taught me was to smile at life's folly and to take it in a stride and smile and endure and maybe after all the pain and heartbreak the sun will shine upon us and make this world a happier place.

I haven't loved characters in a long time as i have loved them in this drama. Apart from one character who is the only villain of the show i loved everyone in it. Each character grew and brought something to my 30+ hours of screen time.

The music was hauntingly beautiful and brought the emotions that the characters were feeling to the maximum. It complimented the mood of the show and with beautiful cinematography just made me sigh in happiness.

My low rewatch value is due to the fact that this is a gem better enjoyed once and not be repeated often or it will loose its essence.

I do not claim that this drama is without flaws but it is not overtly angsty and has quite a few light moments as well. I love it with its flaws and all. This drama is like a slow burning candle which gives warmth slowly but something that will last.

My 2 days that were spent in gawking/screaming/laughing at my laptop screen is evidence that this drama is not to be missed. It will fill your heart with happiness and your face with smiles.

I picked this drama on a random thought and im glad i did.
This drama seeks to break many stereotypes that many dramas still follow and looks at characters and situations with a fresh light.

Park Jin Hee does a wonderful job playing Lee shin Young. She brings to the screen something fresh and i like her character a lot.She is hard working, talented and doesnt worry about unecessary stuff. She is selfish and ambitious but at the same time she actually loves and cares too.Her relationship with Han Min Jae played by our favourite Kim Bum is very nicely done. Its a younger man-older woman relationship and they play it nicely.Their chemistry is pretty good and the conflicts between them was realistic. He does everything with an enthusiasm of a 24 year old and is a usual charmer with a hint of mischief..;)

Boo Ki is another of my favourite characters from this drama. She is a very capable interior designer and owns a restaurant too.She doest mope about her life and is the most logical out of the three. She is the voice of reasons and believes love will come whenever it has too and goes about her life happily.

Jung da Jung is just a selfish brat who will sell her own soul to the devil if it means she can get a husband that way.She is utterly desperate and selfish to the core and doesnt care about others much. She still manages to grab such an awesome guy as Ban seok just shows she is manipulative and cunning to the core.

I love the friendship that is depicted here. They live close by and discuss everything and drink together and eat together and take care of each other like newly wedded couple when one is going through a breakup..:D

Choi Chul sok's character Ban seok was very funny to watch. He is loyal and sweet to the core.Perfect husband material.

I liked the love story of Yoon Sang Woo and Choi Sang Mi.Their love was something spontaneous and filled with desperation as both try to escape their life.It was sweet and beautiful at the same time.

This drama is the type one marathones through.the conflicts and misunderstandings are resolved quickly and noone mourns over the same thing for more than an episode which is a first for me.It has awesome chemistry between the leads and their respective relationships too.I wouldnt mind being in their shoes because at the end of it all of them have the best that life has to offer
This is highly recomended if you like light, feel good dramas which leave you feeling happy ..:)

I LOVED this drama. Now lemme tell you why
This drama may seem like a typical love story with the guy falling in love with a girl but it is so MUCH more.

This is indeed a love story and one of the best out there.Im officially stalking Erika Keitagawa, the script writer of this drama.Do not drop it thinking that the girl is deaf so it would be filled with lots of tears and angst. It definately has its share of that too but its more about this group of youngsters not knowing their place in the world and actually working towards it by being together and finding out their place and making the friendships in life matter.

The depiction of friendship is one of the best.I could feel the care and friendship when the guys stole each others food or when they pulled each others leg because in reality that's what guys do.Tease and play and make fun and still have the bromance going on.The friendship between the girls was heartfelt too.Ozawa Akane learned sign language just becuse she wanted to converse with her friend. How sweet is that. These people will give their lives for each other and that's how strong the friendship is.

Sae is not the typical heroine. She's arrogant, moody and full of her own insecurities and issues.Shibasaki Kou is simply amazing as Sae.Without her voice she can still make us feel all her emotions. Her eyes speak and so does her sign language.I never knew one could express so many emotions through sign languge. You can feel her frustration and anger when her hands speak fast and her sadness when they are barely moving.she brought something fresh to my screen and all her dilemna about falling in love with a normal guy seems so real and touching. After she worked through her insecurities and emotions she came out as just another girl with dreams and fantasy of prince charming and not someone physically handicapped but someone just like you or me.

Kai is the type of guy we can be friends with and eventually fall in love. The one with whom falling in love is as easy as breathing. He gives a warm feeling and with whom you could talk about anything for hours and still won't get bored. The one who'll piggyback you when your feet hurt and the type of guy who'll fight for your honour even when he knows he'll get beaten up in return :D
Its not that he has no flaws but his flaws are so minimal.I LOVE his character and how he doesnt pity Sae for being the way she is but treats her like he would any other girl.Tsumabuki Satoshi as Kai was so cute.

The leads romance was filled with light and sweet moments. They had a few tearjerker scenes which brought more emotion to the story. The subplot of Akane and Sano falling in love was interesting too.Sano being a playboy and how Akane actually turns this good for nothing guy who considers himself worthless into someone who can actually learn to love and care was good to watch.

What i also liked and could connect with is how none of them knew what they had to do with their lives and how after they came together they solved each question, each problem together and came out victorious.Their dilemna in thinking what career to choose or their stress over not finding a job is so real and so relatable that i saw myself in them with the same aspirations and dreams in life.

The music was soothing and beautiful.

All addicts know that at some point every drama drags and this did too but only in the later few episodes. Its pretty well made so there aren't much flaws here even when i tried to find some.

Romance, friendship and teenage angst in one gifted Package deserves to be watched by all
Go and watch it NOW..:P

After having watched Playful Kiss and not liking it much i never thought to give this a chance unless a friend asked me too. There is no need to compare this to its korean version because seriously this drama stands on its own.Its what you would call a total fluff drama filled with light moments.

The plot is pretty much okay with the usual girl chasing the guy but this time around the guy is more colder than the usual ones.Zhi Shu is not the type of a hero like other drama guys are who change their obnoxious personality just after they meet and later fall in love with our kind hearted and loving heroine. He's cold and indifferent to everything that goes around him and nothing disturbs his little world till the day an obsessed girl in love with him comes to his house to live with him.Now all the house is topsy turvy and he can't even have a moment's peace knowing that this little girl-child has the ability to surprise and amuse him.He changes from a emotionless guy to someone who feels tiny jealousy and actually loves bullying her around the house.I can understand where he's coming from and most of the times i was left wondering just because he's smart, intelligent and handsome doesnt mean Xiang Qin has to fall in love with him.So before i over analysed it i stopped thinking about it.Don't keep your brains with you while watching it.You'll suffer a lot because frankly just because of One sweeet thing the other mean things Zhi Shu does to Xiang Qin cannot be balanced out.A woman having any kind of pride or self respect will not suffer through so much toil as Xang Qin does and continues to suffer thrughout the drama.
I relate her obsession and child like devotion to the fact that she stopped growing after few years into her teen and remains frozen here and that is why its so cute seeing her doing dumb things and Zhi Shu smiling and smirking in the background.. ;)

Xiang Qin is pretty much a child who has a crush on this guy who's a genius in all of Taiwan and gets a perfect score each time. She's the most persistent of all and i love how much hardwork she puts into everything.Ariel Lin as Xiang Qin is so adorable and cute. She actually looks like she is 15 year old instead of being 18.The way she talks, walks, the pout, the running its all cute and that is why she shines much above than Zhi Shu can ever be.Even though she's dumb and stupid she has a heart made of Gold and thats why i feel its Zhi Shu who doesnt deserve her and not the other way around as she thinks. Both of them are flawed in their own way and its good to see that hard work actually gets you somewhere..:D

The Romance nevertheless has light moments and the not so light ones because Zhi Shu has a long road to travel before he can stop being so self centered and indifferent to others feelings and emotions. Ariel lin and Joe Cheng share one of the best chemistry onscreen because at the end of it Zhi Shu does love Xiang Qin in his own robotic and weird way.

The secondary characters served their purpose well and special mention goes to Xiang Qin's two best buddies and Jiro Wang as Ah Jin was cute though his love for Xiang Qin is the same as Xiang Qin's love for Zhi Shu.The same madness and the same obsession..:D

ISWAK gives you the feeling of having that first crush and then knowing you won't get him but nevertheless hoping that you will. The heartbreak that ensues and the other things that happen so that we can grow up and fall in love again.Maybe with the same one or a different person. Its a simple fluff comedy filled with light moments and mixed with romance to keep one fully entertained.Treat it like Cotton Candy.Eat it and savour it. . :)

I have this love for dark dramas and that's when i stumbled upon this drama and i jumped around in glee..:D
The plotline sounds very unusual because love is supposed to change you in a good way and not to consume you like it does in this drama.I liked the plot and didnt find it draggy at all and it was pretty addicting since i finished it in 2 days.i love cliches if they are not overdone and too over the top and this felt right. It does become mellow in between but thats okay.Offcourse you wont find any laughs here. Its intense, dark, twisted and full of drama.
Much of the story in the starting episodes is given in flashbacks and therefore was interesting to watch as the writer gave few links at a time letting us form our own theories.

Xia Mo is unlike other heroines and you would have a hard time liking her. She's the perfect sister, perfect friend but when it comes to love she is the most cruelest person you'l come across.I can hardly believe that the novelist from whose novel this drama is adapted could come up with such a twisted heroine. She was the perfect heroine with whom i had Love\Hate relationship throughout the drama.I can sympathize with many decisions she makes throughout the drama but that doesnt mean i agree with her. She's a complicated heroine and probably the coldest of them all.As Luo Xi constantly says her heart is made of ice and i agree.Wherever love for a man is concerned she has no heart and that is why it is so frustating to see 2 awesome guys fighting over this girl. For her the most important of them all is her brother Yin Cheng and she sees nothing else beside this guy.Frustrating and irritating because i know family is important but that doesnt mean you have to hurt and almost kill others for the sake of just one person.I understand her obsessional love for her brother but it was just too much for me.Barbie was wonderful in the acting department here because she could be kind hearted to her friends when the next moment she could coldly reject any of the guys.

Luo Xi is the perfect flirt in the starting but as the story unfolds we see he has much substance if we care to look beneath the surface. He's warm, caring and kind but he does have a cruel streak to himself too which i heartily ignore becuase this guy has so much tendency to love.hwang Xiao Ming as Luo Xi was a treat to watch. His acting is marvellous becuse most of the time he's smiling but when you look close that smile is sometimes sad, sarcastic, happy or simply heartbreaking
Ou Chen is the type of guy we should be beware of.He's powerful, controlling and slightly cruel but when it comes to love he isnt much better than the others.Peter Ho does justice to his role because whatever Ou Chen feels the viewer can too. He's not complicated because when it comes down to it he really does love Xia Mo to the depths of the world and does much in the drama to convince us that he does

I never switched ships in my life as much as i did in this drama. One second i was shoutning Ou Chen and the next it would be Luo Xi and again il switch back to Ou Chen and there my ship kept on floating hither tither.Till the last second of the last episode i still wondered who she should end up with becuase frankly whichever guy she chose i would have loved it anyway because both of them loved her unconditionally and wholeheartedly but i guess the best man wins so i was happy with the ending.Though il never be convinced of the fact that Xia Mo actually loved any of the guys. She was too selfish for me and i wished she was more kind and loving becuase really those 2 guys yearn for so much love.I think she doesnt deserve these 2 guys love because she never reciprocated it to the extent the 2 guys did but still they did make for an unforgettable love triangle

You'l see abandonment issues, daddy issues and mommy issues flying around and trust me you haven't seen such heart breaking characters as this one.all the three protagonists are so broken and so screwed up you will be glad you are not them. What the 2 guys feel for the girl is so intense that i was blown away.Barbie has awesome chemistry with both the leads.Equal sreentime is given to both of them that its hard to understand who's the main guy.Stay away from spoilers because its rare when we don't know who the heroine will end up with..:D

The music was nothing special but didnt get irritating to listen too.set the tone right and was good enough

watch it if you love dark dramas or guys whose love for the heroine is unforgettable or simply for the good chemistry.. ;)

This drama is basically very conventional but presented in a very unconventional way and topped with an icing of beautiful looking cast and equally talented actors and voila! we've got a hit. This drama was highly overrated by many but i believe it lives up to its hype.Atleast for me it did.Im not much of a melodrama loving person but i wanted to watch this purely for the acting as i knew a drama which had Moon Chae Won,Park Si yeon and Song joong ki could not dssapoint me.
Song is pretty much an eye candy but when we look beyond we see he's really talented as well.Seeing him in Sungkyunkwan Scandel was a delight but Ma Roo is something totally different.

Ma Roo is porobably one of the best characters ive come across in dramaland. He is not the typical khero who saves the day with his knight in shining armour act. He's something better. We never know what he is thinking.Till the last few episodes i was left wondering whom did he actually love-the heroine or the villain.Like a glass which only reflects what it sees not letting us look beyond Ma Roo does the same. Its easy to understand his twisted psychology and motives but nevertheless he is one of the most fascinating chracters around. He's a noble idiot who would sacrifice all for the one he loves even if that means he has to die in the process. At the same time if you get into his bad books.Boy! you better watch out then.He will literally tear you apart. He feels strongly but rarely lets emotion comes to surface. He is calm and calculated but at the same times those little flicker of moments when he lets his real self show, whoa! that's what Song Joong Ki does.He makes Ma Roo into someone where we don't know if we hate the guy or love him. He's that twisted and crazy.

Moon Chae Won steals the show for me.Though Maroo with his self sacrifice act seems more noble but she isnt far behind. She as Eun Gi carries most of the brillaince that innocent man is for me.She sparkles sand shines in this drama.Acting like a total witch one moment and the next acting like a high school girl going on her first date, she does both perfectly. She's brilliant and grips us in her character where we feel the utmost for what she is and why she is like that. She is not the usual kdrama heroine but curses and swears when things don't go according to her.She knows how to play mind games and taesan means the world to her. She's stubborn,Smart and with lots of sass.Eun Gi definately comes on my best characters list.:)

Park Si Yeon as Han Jae Hee is damn awesome.i loved how she is the one woman who has the power to lure any guy away from their woman. She's the typical woman we love to hate but there are moments when we understand her circumstances and actually feel pity for her but at the end of it she did what she had to do to reach a position she was loath to leave making our drama more interesting. It is because of PSY that Jae Hee seems almost human and we can find a person like her anywere. One who's so smitten with ambition that she would destroy herself in the process and wouldn't care a damn about it.She comes full circle and i love how the writers created her so that we could see utter selfishness and cruelty mixed with a bit of humanity in between to give us a complex character.

Kim Tae Hoon as Ahn Min Young is one who is so similar to Ma Roo but where MaRoo earns our respect and sympathy for the life that is tragedy for him,AMY just makes us remind how creepy a character can be.He's someone who's lost in love with Jae Hee and its this love mingled with his own ambition that he destroys himself.

The plot is fast paced and involves much for the fight for the throne of Taesan group. We are constantly made to wonder what the hell does everyone actually feel.Everybody needs a therapy according to me because all the characters are more or less broken and so flawed that it gives so much scope for so many things. It is a romance drama but though everyone does what they do because of their twisted idea of love its never the focus. We are more invested in the emotions that they go through for the inevitable decisions they make and have to bear the consequences later.it isnt the once in a lifetime type of ove story where petals will be scattered aroud. Its a more mature romance where love is mingled with selfishness and ambition and the utter greed that resides in most minds

Won't be rewatching this anytime soon as all the good things are lost second time around

Watch it for its pure take on twisted psychology and the flawed and damaged character ,and the fact that such characters are so real and true to life that you can find them anywere..:D

The synopsis sounded very different and unique than many other dramas in dramaland so i decided to watch this after obsessive recommendation by a dear friend

The story is pretty different than others where lots of focus is given to 2 couples throughout the story, the parents and their children.
There isnt much that needs to be analysed or thought over.Though the angsty parts do make us question and ask who loves more. The parents and their 30 year love or the young ones with their new and fresh love

The best part of this drama was the romance.Jang Geun Suk is awesome as Joon.He plays his part well and his kissing skills have definately improved from his You're beautiful days.Though i definately would like to have a private word with his stylist who's made a huge blunder with the hairstyle and the clothes hiding the handsome man that Jang Geun Suk is.But being JGS he still shines..:)
I love his character growth who from a flirt turns into this caring and kind man who's ready to sacrifice his love for his love's happiness.Nothing matters to this guy but Ha Na and that's so cute.Love all the intimacy because its not forced but natural, like they are so much in love that their smiles and eyes say a lot. They have such sweet and heartwarming chemistry.Leaves me feeling warm all over and happy.Yoon Ah as Ha Na is convincing enough.

The parents love was beautiful till episode 4 but then then they grew to be adults it was missing that zing that we call romance.i just didnt care for them anymore but that they were an obstruction to my beloved couple.I loved the character of Sun Ho.He was a kind and caring friend till the end and Kim Shi Woo is major eye candy.will be stalking his future dramas..:D
Mi Ho is one of the most annoying characters ive come across. She's clingy, needy and irritating as hell. She has no self respect so i skipped her parts the most.Yoon Hee and Ha Na's mother-daughter relationship was so touching and full of love that it seemed real. She makes one beautiful and loving mom.I loved that Ha Na loved her mom and considered her happiness above her own even though she knows she'd end up dying inside evry single second that passes.Such love for a mother is so rare almost nil.It also showed the harsh reality of what a divorce does to the children and how twisted and self centered Hye Jung is.I loved the development of father-son relationship of Joon and In Ha.Joon hated his father after the divorce but due to Ha na and Yoon Hee he healed his relationship with him.All the wounds that were there in the starting were starting to heal at the end of the drama.satisfying and shows us the human ability to change in a good way..:)

The soundtrack is like the assortmant of different candies laid in front and you get to pick the ones you like. Its that awesome. From english to french to korean.its so awesome!!!

No words could desribe how OUTSTANDING the cinematography is.Its so beautiful and breathetaking that i'm gonna rewatch those scenes again later some time

Now the bad parts. It was too draggy.I haven't skipped through a drama as much as i did through this one.I just couldn't care for the characters apart from a handful. The writers were so good to write such an unforgettable romance but not anything else.I feel dissapointed for the drama could have been and would have ended up being my all time favourites because i love my romantic dramas but this was just too draggy for my taste.Even the angst becomes too much after a few episodes. The story was perfect to make us care, love and end up in tears for the love that could never be but alas the writers were going for a slow melodrama that went slower than a caterpillar.

I mourn for a drama that could have reached higher but landed up in the middle but i still ended up loving it.The romance is the one redeeming factor.

To all those who dropped it because it was draggy or those planning to watch.Just be patient.Use the fast forward button and enjoy the romance because its beautiful and worth every minute..:)

when after finishing a drama it leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling like on a cold wnter morning waking up with a happy dream you know u've just marathoned through one AWESOME drama!

The plot sounds pretty cliched and has been exhausted plenty times in other dramas with the cold guy falling for our sweet hearted heroine but this one drama actually reinvents itself in many ways.
The story is pretty nicely planned out and we actually can guess where its going(no surprise there..:D) but somewhere along the way we stop analysing or using our brains while watching a drama but this one is actually pretty complex in some ways.

I LOVED how Mike He played the main guy. He's not polished in his acting even after many years(can already hear the girls screaming..) but frankly here i would say he did a good job. He's easy on the eyes and is i guess the only actor who can have chemistry with anybody, even a tree..:D
Cyndi Wang as Mei Le did a good job.She doesn't overact as much as the other TWdrama heroines tend to do.

I am a sucker for damaged leads and this one drama delivered on this aspect so nicely and in such a touching way that this one goes down in my list of favourites...i like how the leads are so flawed and how they work together to heal each other and in the process fall in love too...:)
The chemistry is mind blowing in this one, reminded me of Secret Garden so much. The leads here are so snappy and adorable with each other and at the same time that it makes one wanna go crazy over this couple. The best part of their chemistry is that its so believable how these two could easily fall for each other. How they are motivated and the reason their attitude are the way they are leaves no room for contemplation and gives us a straight forward answer. The reasons for their behavior are pretty good and how they change gradually throughout the drama is very pleasent to watch.Their scenes has this distinct beauty and a dreamy quality that is so beautiful.Their scenes together are shot pretty beautifully with the whole sunshine playing tricks on the eyes that it makes their love all the more beautiful.their were enough cutesy moments and entralling scenes to keep a romantic like me glued to my screen for hours. The best part of their relationship is the spontaneous hugs and kisses. In many dramas they come out as pretty awkward but here it seems so natural and mixed in with Yi Lei's impulsive personality and Mei le's denial makes it great. What the writer did with the toast concept and mixed it with the romance was charming

At 13 episodes this was an easy watch and didn't drag long like other dramas tend too.The story does slow down and gets burdened with angst in the last episodes but it is all worth it since its pretty heartwrenching and believable and touching at the same time.

The subplot involving the lead couple's brother and sister was too cute.i loved their love story and could understand why they fell. They are running parallel to the love story of the main couple and its cute to watch them together fighting and snapping their heads off each other.I don't have any sympathy for women like Xuan Xuan or men like Yi Feng so their parts were what i fast forwarded the most through.Xuan Xuan is annoying.period.

The music fit well thoughout the drama and the one track stood out was stick to you sang by the leading lady herself..:)

I will definately be rewatching this since all those captivating and lovable moments filled with such amazing chemistry will always leave me wanting more of this couple.

Highly recommeded for any die hard crazy romantic fan like me..:D
Trust me this will leave you wanting more and more of this amazing couple

Its taken me a long long time to finish it mainly because apart from viki it wasn't available anywhere.im glad that i managed to watch it otherwise i would have missed this little gem

The plot line sounds pretty average.Friends realising that at the end of the day they love each other. The drama is full of those cliches.Ex-boyfriends and Girlfriends..and other sub plots revolving around ageing and marriage but i utterly loved this drama

Berlin Chen as Li Da Ren is very handsome. He's the type of friend that any girl whould love to have.To share a can of beer over a broken heart. To be in his embrace over betrayal and to chat with him all day long and never getting bored of it.He's someone who's like a pillar of strength and that's what makes him oh so adorable

Ariel Lin is very pretty and more so here since i love her in dresses.she is not the typical dramaland heroine. She has a bad temper,is unbearable to handle and so whimsical at the same time. But she's also a workaholic who doesnt look at the time at all which is passing by.She's a career driven woman who's finally realising that life needs much more than a career and weekends spent with parents. She's feeling tht grey hairs are not to far and thats how our story follows.Frankly i wouldn't be able to handle or bear a person like her but Li Da Ren does evrything he can for this girl. They've been best friends and it shows as we follow them. They are so comfortable with each other that the heroine has taken him for granted almost

The chemitsry between the leads is good but this drama is more about friendship than love according to me.The music fits every frame and was very pleasant on the ears..:)

This drama does have its problems though.Through the first few episodes we see that Cheng You Qing needs Li Da Ren much more than he does. She's always, always asking him to be there for her while she's hardly ever there for him.Lot of time was wasted in her attraction towards her ex bf rather than focusing on the frendship.I also was too much frustrated with You Qing in the last episodes as i became to hate her there.I had hoped the writer would have given them more screen time as a couple but we kept on goin in circles and no together time was shown which is a shame since the leads look so good together.

watch it for the friedship where you'l wish you had a LI Da Ren in your life and i think the best kind of love is in friends turning to lovers so thts why i highly recommend this
cute, romantic and shows how badly we need a friend..:D
