I prefer to think of her as an assertive lady. I think that she is a woman that men gravitate towards. You want to be around her. For some, to help or protect her. It's an aura or charisma that she projects. In ep. 2, 24:19, she sits down to eat with Lu Yan and Xin. She allows her servant (she says he is her apprentice) Da Hai to sit with her. Everyone is equal in Qingquan Stronghold. I like that she takes care of those under her.

I saw Li Qin in Never Gone, AKA So Young 2- So You're Still Here (2016) but her role wasn't memorable. I'm loving her in this role.

With Shiqi in the picture, Gu Bei Xi is more watchable. He isn't interfering with Dengdeng and Lu Yan.

May I ask why you dropped it? The stories for me didn't go in the way that I had expected. There would be a twist. For example the bride wasn't about finding a groom, but she had to let her comatose groom go. I'm up to ep. 12. I peeked at the end and read the comments. Will proceed to the end. Some unexpected things did happen that made me sad. I wish that there were better closure, but I think that's the way the writers intended.

I noticed from the beginning that Dengdeng was considerate of those under her leadership. I think it was when she shared her food with the gang. I like how the people around her are devoted. I also like Xin and Chang and their loyalty to Yun Xi and Lu Yan. What I mean is I like loyalty that also goes from top down.

Both Dengdeng and Lu Yan have black boots with the trousers tucked in, so it could be either. Her servant has black boots but the trousers are not tucked in.
I think it will depend on whose story is more important. I think that this story is about Dengdeng's growth to reach Yun Xi. She has the power at the end of ep. 22, but does she have the knowledge to effectively use it? If so, the Lu Yan will get the worm and Dengdeng will grow to save him. On the other hand, if Dengdeng gets the worm, then it could be a way to have Lu Yan repay the debt of Yun Xi saving him twice, and release the passion locked in his heart. There is a scene of Lu Yan in a red jacket plunging the hair stick into his breast. The ost and opening and ending credits seem to give clues.
