I agree with you about Heroin. I really liked the series, but did NOT like the novel, especially when it came to the the rape scene and other things the writer had the character of Gu Hai do to the character of Bai Yo Lin in the novel. I'm sorry, cultural or not, that kind of mess is NOT romantic, is NOT how relationships should ever be conducted and is NOT cool in any form IMO, and I would seriously wonder about anyone who actually thought that kind of messed up stuff (even in a fictional novel written for purely entertainment purposes) was okay.

Sychronicity, I read your review and was intrigued. You made a lot of valid points, especially about the number of episodes it took to tell the main story of Third and Khai, and I agree with them. But, oddly enough, I do like this series (at least a little better than some of the others) for two simple reasons: 1) although the plot had many serious holes in it, as you said it did complete the story; and 2) although it had a couple of moments where a trope/cliche/stereotype was used (particularly when Khai made reference to Third as "his bitch"), the storyline did NOT rely on those tropes to get the story across, while still showing inclusion and acceptance of same-sex relationships, even if it is possibly a bit unrealistic.

LOL I'm not sure that I agree or disagree, but I do hear ya!!! I actually enjoy the series, but hate the cliches and tropes. But, as you say, it's drama....LOL

Okay, here we go! LOL I know I will probably be in the minority and will probably receive some silly response directed at me... But, it's all good. HAHAHA! The whole Beam/Forth thing with Beam being "kidnapped" from a club, being made to swear to be Forth's "Wifey" and "no girls' hubby" or Forth was going to ensure that they both "die" was just a be toooo much , even for BL drama. Up until this scene, I could tolerate, and even occasionally enjoy the cuteness of the characters and the story, as well as ALL of the changes in 2 Moons 2 compared to the original. And, even though I realize that much of the scene kind of follows the novel, I still say "THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH!" LOL This single scene has kind of turned me OFF on the series.... The reason being is that although it's a tv show , based on a novel, it still goes out to many , many fans, and it just sets a BAD example, not only on LGBTQ+ relationships, but any relationship between two people. I also acknowledge that some of this is probably cultural and that some of this is purely for profit (selling the novels, getting the tv shows made, all of the fan fair events, etc.). I betcha a lot of money is being made exploiting gay relationships. BUT, the true issue I have is that many of the fans (and others out there) watching this stuff might actual believe, support, or even try to replicate what they see on tv. Unfortunately, it happens all of the time. And kidnapping someone, forcing them to submit to your will under the promis of death (even in a tv show) is NOT a good way to show relationships involving persons who are supposed to "love and care" for one another. Forth was treating Beam like a possession to do with as he pleases (i.e., be Forth's wifey and no women's hubby). Even though this is a scene from a BL novel brought to a tv series, it still isn't cool. I'm off my soapbox now!

Once again, I'm not sure about this latest episode. Beam agreeing to be Forth's "wifey" after one night of drunken sex, and one episode of mending Forth's wounds from a fight???? Wow! These BL writers really have a flare for the dramatic and unrealistic....lol This sets LGBTQ+ relationships back at least 25 year... But, I guess it is entertaining, if nothing else. lmao

I kind of agree. The Beam/Forth get together was just tooooooo much for me! It seemed totally unbelievable, filled with tropes and cliches, and I think took away from the rest of the story. Too bad! It could've been better....Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait on Ming/Kit.

I can't remember. In the novel, is it Beam/Forth that have sex first? I remember that in the novel Wayo and Pha don't have sex until Wayo's second year. I'm wondering if they will speed that up in the series (or is that 2 Moons 3????

In Book 2, even though there are still remnants of the tropes and stereotypes between Gu Hai and Bai Lao Yin, it was good to see the writers allow Bai Lao Yin exact a little revenge on Gu Hai and put him in his place. I just wish there was more resolution regarding the "rape" scene from Book 1. That whole episode was just soooooo disturbing to me.

Agreed! But, why did the story have to be that Beam was submissive to Forth? When Forth told Beam "No" that he couldn't "top" him, and then proceded to be "all over Beam," that was an old trope and stereotype...And now, after one night of drunk sex, Forth and Beam (out of nowhere) fall in love with each other! Again, I'm LMAO! Where do the writers get this stuff...You can have meaningful storylines about LGBTQ+ couples without always relying on the cliches....At least, I think you can,

I'm also wondering how the characters of Two and Un turn out. The story has kind of always hinted a secret crush of Two by Un (remember when Un brought Two medicine and soup for his cold AND finished his homework). Then we found out in Ep. 10 that Un has been crushing on Two for as long as Third has been crushing on Khai. Interesting!

I totally agree. I really like this series. And, it's a great comeback after Our Skyy, which I thought was terrible for OFF and GUN. The writers just didn't give them a good storyline like the other actors in the in Our Skyy series received. But, the storyline in this series (at least in my opinion) is the best of all the series in which OFF and GUN have appeared.
