OK. I know I'm going to get a few "hater" posts. But, that's alright. I really liked Ep. 14 up until the part where P'Dean basically tells N'Pharm that "he's no longer going to wait for him." I presume this reference is telling Pharm and the viewing audience that Dean wants "sex" from Pharm and he's "going give Pharm (7) days to prepare himself." Now, I see the series taking on a more "tropish" style near the end. In an earlier episode, Dean wanted to take "liberties" with Pharm -- Pharm rebuked him, and Dean "promised" to not do anything like that before. I guess a few more episodes passes and the "gloves are off," to coin a phrase. When you put in the perspective of Dean constantly wanting "rewards" from Pharm, It seems that Dean is pressuring Pharm for sex, regardless of how Pharm feels about. Once again, this may be fairly close to what occurs in many relationships (gay or non-gay). BUT IT IS STILL NOT COOL! This behavior has made me look differently at Dean to the point I no longer like his character as well as I did in earlier episodes. Because, it seems that it is no longer a question of love, but a question of sex, like an old pervert "grooming" his/her younger victim.

I agree with everything you posted. It was insightful, and obviously took a lot thought. I too, have read a lot of BL novels, and see the trope displayed just as you stated. However, I still believe that THIS author (or at the very least, the director) could have made the same point without having Tharn assault Type while he was sleeping simply to show a point. And, there should be no doubt that Type was assaulted.

OK. I can see your point. Thanks for the clarification. But, I still think that you can have really good BL drama without all those tropes, especially the trope concerning rape, sexual assault, etc. It's time for the writers and producers to get past that. Do you agree?

I totally agree that Type was NOT a good person, when dealing with Tharn. I also agree with you that everything "after" the sleep episode was mutual. However, what Tharn did to Type while he was sleeping was NOT mutual, and as big of a jerk that Type was in those early episodes, no one deserves to have anything like that happen to them while their sleeping, or knocked out or unconscious from being drunk. That is still not ok in my book.

I wrote a review that probably won't bee seen, so I'll write an even briefer one here. I liked the series, as far as the acting, the actors, and flow of the story. I did NOT like the fact that much of the story is based on the old trope of a sexual assault victim falling in love with his/her abuser. Tharn sexually assaulted Type while he was asleep in ep. 1. His actions were intentional and purposeful, and NOT OK! Then to find out the Type was sexually molested by a relative in his early life, makes what Tharn did all the more disgusting and wrong. But, yet everyone is led to believe that Tharn is a good guy. WRONG! Good people DON'T take advantage of you when you're asleep. When will the BL fans, writers and directors get away from this awful archaic trope. It really puts a damper on the relationships of the LGBTQ+ community. Overall, I give the series a (5). If it didn't have the assault part at the beginning, I would've give it a lot higher.

Of all the BL dramas I've watched over the years, Sotus remains my all time favorite. The reason being is that the story was simple and easy to follow. It did NOT harp on all of the traditional tropes associated with BL dramas, and it allowed the characters to actually feel different emotions, while trying to figure out this "love" thing between two men. It also showed that the characters had friends who supported them , no matter who they loved. Finally, Sotus just made you feel good at the end, like a classic Rom Com (romantic comedy) should do. Now, on the flip side, I did NOT like Sotus S for the main reason that they changed P' Arthit's character so much from Sotus, that he was hardly recognizable to me.

I believe M started having feelings for Pun AFTER using him to get back at his brother. The series, at least in the beginning, made it seem as if M didn't like his brother being gay and "closeted." Then to end up him having feelings for a Pun. Too many unanswered questions.

I think you're right. But, if there is a IAYK 3, will it pick up from this series or have a totally new cast and storyline, as was done with this series?

Wow! This show has turned out much better than I thought it would. At times, it is just heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, because you already know the fate of Korn and In. That first episode was a shocker!!!

Well it turns out that M actually WAS an a-hole, making Pun be a fake boyfriend role to get back at his brother. But, it appears that he may have actually had some feelings for Pun, even though Pun was still in love with P'Sib. I would've like to have seen a little more story about the reason Pun left for China. I know we could guess, but it still would've made for a better storyline. Also, there was any info given as to why Pun returned to Thailand after (3) years??? I guess that will left to I Am Your King 3?
