Totally agree. That's why it shocked so many people at the beginning, I still remember at that time my TL is full of " How the hell THIS can pass censorship??", "WOH probably spent half of their budget to bribe the censorship officials" LOL. Good ol' times :D

I'm quite sure they will follow YK's way of charging for VIP and additional clips. But the question is whether they can exceed what WOH has done, creating a BL adaptation that doesn't shy away from its core, a BL story. I don't think the audience now can accept dangai that has been turned into pure "bromance" after WOH, it's like feeding you cheap beef steak after tasting a A5-grade Japanese wagyu cut XD

First few episodes look solid, great visuals, good pacing and great acting. Story-wise looks like it will be on heavy side and not typical light-hearted drama. ZYL looks so thin here but it fits his character, talk about dedication to his character. Glad that he is taking more and more serious roles which challenge his acting skills.

That's a very nice comment from industry people. YK is also known to have the smallest view counts among other platforms so it's not a fair comparison to compare it based on view counts. But the immediate effect is so obvious, no other drama actors during the same airing period is having tremendous increase in popularity like GJ and ZZH. I think it's comparable to the effect Guardian and TU brought to its actors. It's interesting to see how the other upcoming dangai will turn out, now that the bar has been set so high.

I seriously questioned MDL's standard for approving things here. I submitted the request to change ZZH's picture to use his studio's profile picture and got rejected. They didn't mention the reason for rejection even though I stated that it's his studio's official picture. Their rule says that they won't change it based on personal taste, but isn't is using official picture is the best way to avoid subjectivity? And GJ's pic has also been recently changed to his studio's picture. I guess it's more appropriate to say that they will only change it based on the approval staff's taste.
They can easily approve creating drama page for something that isn't even official yet, only based on rumor (eg: WOH prequel on Scorpion King and Zhao Jing), but they won't change picture to the official one??
MDL, if you wanna be a credible source better make your rules clear!

My top fave is Wu Ti, followed by Tian Ya Ke and Tian Wen. Tian Ya Ke is special because it's WKX and ZZS's love song, even though GJ's tune was a bit off there lol.
Another fave is Jie Yue, it's not official song but it's used by Youku in their MV and it fits their story and mood perfectly.

This event is for actors who participate in movie, ZZH was invited as part of his role in upcoming movie Formed Police Unit. GJ hasn't participated in any movie recently, so he wasn't part of the invitees.

If this is ABO world, then ZZH is an omega pretending to be alpha while GJ is an alpha who behaves like omega lol.

I'm not entirely sure, but since it is organized by Weibo then the criteria must be based on his Weibo statistics. They mentioned about the increase in the no of his Weibo followers, so it could be one of the criteria. There was also a poll by the organizer back then and he topped the list, so it may also be another criteria.

Well said. I've never been so happy to get to know them through WOH and we really stan the right people. The unspoken custom of not mentioning cp and other actor's name is really ridiculous, I feel that this only applies to actors of danmei drama? ZZH can still mentioned his previous colleagues names like Hu Ge, so why GJ can't mention ZZH's name? And the way people bend to the demand of solo fans are ridiculous as well.

May both of them remain true to their hearts and I'm proud to be a fan of both of them :)

I braced myself and watch the first 2 eps.. and I feel my IQ has dropped few points LOL. What kind of brainless drama is this? That kind of cutesy guileless FL is soo decades ago. I admire you for being able to sit through 36 eps of this XD

I'm so glad for WOH for bringing GJ and ZZH to us. Both are brave and courageous souls who will stand up for their own values. It's been unspoken custom not to mention cp or other actor's name after the show is over, but both of them have broken all the rules and set new standards. No one deserves to be treated as taboo, be it fans or other actor's names.

Besides worshipping, fans also often try to control their idols into behaving according to their wish. Fortunately ZZH ain't taking any of this sh*t. He never spoils his fans, refuses to say sweet words or gives welfares and always tells his fans to "be strong". Just don't tell princess what to do XD

Lol I haven't been able to focus on watching other drama after WOH. the withdrawal is kinda bad.. but I'll start watching The Rebel, the review in Douban looks promising!

It scored lowly 3.8 in Douban, I don't even wanna bother to check this out. It can now compete with Palace of Devotion for the lowest scored drama in Douban this year lol.
