And don't get me started at the sis' pregnancy speculation! What do you mean you might be pregnant, have you guys…
She refuses to let him drive her home, backtracks when she realizes he might’ve wanted to kiss her, and yells ”let’s sleep togehter next time!” at him, after their date. I guess it’s implied that they naturally get it on.
SPOILERS AHEADTHE STORY MAINLY TAKES PLACE IN THE SUMMER AND AUTUMN OF 2019 AND JANUARY 2022.- the first 10-12…
Thanks! Kind of hilarious that the drama skipped right over the pandemic lol. The new collection of bottles at Mr Gu’s apartment should’ve grown even bigger all things considered. Or maybe it didn’t matter bc he lives every day as if it’s the pandemic anyway, avoiding icky humans.
Started this a while ago but the , depressing vibe and negativity in the first ep got to me so I dropped it. Started it again after reentering the Son Sukku- mania-zone after A Killer Paradox and seems I came back at the perfect time mindset-wise because wHOA.
The issues, the vibes, the slowburn, the puzzling family ties: it all made so much sense and I couldn’t stop watching!
Although similar in vibe (same writer?) I prefer this over My Ahjusshi; I understood MLN better (also: Mr Gu!).
A medical student works as a part-time prostitute. Is this realistic?Usually, elite students work as personal…
It’s not usual in any of my immediate cultures but seems to be a repeated theme in several jdramas of different genres so maybe it’s viewed differently there?
I was fully onboard until about the fourth musical number, bc it really didn’t get anywhere. There were all these great characters and set ups and scenes and okayish or fun songs and there was a genuine conflict but nothing happened in the end. Can put it like this: loved all the elements but sum of all parts became a “meh” for me.
I think I still hoped it would get a better resolution up to the last minute, waited for all the ending credits but nothing.
Have been meaning to watch this so I finally caved in and binged in two days.
Beautiful, summery vibe. So relaxing. The story was cute and predictable but worked very well with what it was trying to do. That rich old man was an odd addition though. What was his purpose?
Loved her phone calls with her bestie who was the busiest hype woman ever lmao.
The last couple of eps had the most glorious case of noble idiocy ever. It is unBELIEVEable what drama men choose to go through instead of just talking stuff out. Especially weird coming from Kanata who had no problem confessing swiftly when he realized his feelings, but couldn’t just tell Misaki about the NY position.
Yamaken was a whole dish with his aloof, sunburned, surfer chef persona. Yes pls! Love his emoting and how he exuded the feelings of the character, even though his acting wasn’t the best here.
You especially see his love for running in this movie. His running form is superb, never wasting a erg of energy.…
I guess he really loves it or has lots of rl experience for him to utilize it this much in his projects. It just was funny to me to watch Run On and Summer Strike almost back-to-back and then reading about this one.
Agree on all the dead fish-kisses but could we talk about the scene at the end of episode 3, in Hakone? That’s how you set up a kiss scene folks! The kisses there weren’t deeper than others which, fine: you can choose to make a shallow kisses kind of drama. But you can still frame it to be beautiful.
They ”marry” each other at the chapel, exchange rings and seal it with a ho hum kiss. When Hachi says ”cut!” they pull apart, looking at each other and Ayame bursts into the sweetest, brightest smile which makes Togo lose his composure and just go in for a real kiss! It was perfectly done!

Might be the motivation you need :)

Do watch it together with the Parallel episodes.

Cute cameo by Jiyoung!
