Cute, not as short as a movie or as long as a normal drama. I was quite busy and didn’t want to start a new drama that I wouldn’t be able to keep watching, but a movie would be too short too. 5 hours well spent, you can watch it in 1 afternoon or like me - half after dinner and before going to bed and then the other half the next morning. 7/10

extended version vs directors cut -- which one has a happy ending?
You are welcome! :)

The title should not be The King's Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang, it should be Soo Baek Hyang, The King's Daughter That Never Got To Be a Princess Because of Her Evil Little Sister, but then that would be too long and a huge spoiler.

Anyway, although I felt like dropping it a few times, skipped a lot of scenes and felt frustrated most of the times because of Seol Hee, in the end I did not drop it and I don’t regret watching it.
Although it was a long one with 108 episodes, I felt like I needed 1 or 2 more because the ending was a little lacking. I wanted to see Seol Nan go back to the palace, become queen and have cute little babies or something.

Title Diamond Lover Spoiler
extended version vs directors cut -- which one has a happy ending?
Neither of them has a sad ending. But in each version she ends up with a different person. In the extended (original) version she ends up with the second male lead/best friend and in the directors cut she ends up with the male lead. I liked the extended versions ending better because the best friend’s love for her was more sincere in my opinion and he also treated her way better than the male lead. One of the things that made me not even bother to watch the directors cut is how the male leads actions (or lack of them) put the female lead in a very dangerous situation and if it wasnt for her best friend coming to the rescue...I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened to her...all while the male lead was having fun at one of those elegant kind of parties. I have seen a lot of main leads acting like jerks, but this one I could not tolerate. Glad the awesome second male lead was there to save the day, or this would have been a disaster and I would have dropped it like a hot potato. I cannot understand people who wanted her to end with the male lead just because of the actor playing him...yeah, he is hot and korean but the character he is playing sucks.

so what do we watch now? My week is empty with only A Korean Odyssey in it :\
Exactly. I have had Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People in my plan to watch list for quite some time and since the female lead is the same and a lot of people say that drama is good, I will give it a try now. It’s a historical so it will be a completely different story, but it’s not like there are many korean dramas with a similar plot to this one. (although japanese dramas are filled with robots)

Title I'm Not a Robot Spoiler
"all explained" Really? There are at least 2 important unexplained things :P madam x and things in his cabinet
From what I read Madam X was his buttler. He was also the one who put that paper in his jacket when he was a kid saying not to sign anything. About the things in the cabinet. He liked the umbrella so much that he followed the products sold by the same person online and I guess online it would say where she would be selling the things and he would pay someone on the street to go and buy the items for him, just like he did in the first episode when he paid Ji Ah to buy him that figure. These are just the conclusions I reached. I skipped a few scenes so I might have missed something. When I rewatch this I will probably get those 2 things cleared. XD

At first the title and description left me a little confused and I thought this would be too silly and not worth my time. But then one night I had no idea what to watch next and this was still ongoing, only 12 episodes were out. I decided to give it a try. If I did not like it I could drop it right away and save my time for something else. That night I ended up watching all of the 12 episodes and regretted not that I watched it, but that I did not wait for all the episodes to come out before I started watching it. And if you already watched this, you would understand my struggle, specially the way episode 12 ended.

Usually I feel that a drama is very long and should have less episodes....this one left me wishing there was more. I did skip a few scenes, but not because they were boring or they were not important to the plot, but because I couldnt wait to see the main couple. I found myself smiling at my computer’s screen several times throughout the drama. One of my favourite 2017 dramas. 9/10

I really liked the first 17 episodes and at that point I felt like everything that needed to happen, had already happened and that the drama should probably end a few episodes later, like at episode 20 for example. But guess what - this is 40 episodes long. Which means that the second half was far from being as good as the first half. A drama that was good for not being cliché, had to end up using some of those to keep the story going. There was no need for this to be so long. Do I regret watching it? No. But I definitely could have used my time better. There are a lot of better dramas out there. I watched it until the end just for the sake of completing it.

What makes this drama so easy to like is the 20 minute episodes. I would have liked it even more if it was 10 episodes with each episode being 40 minutes long, just like japanese dramas.
The short episodes make this really easy to binge-watch. It is just perfect, not too short, not too long. It doesn’t drag at all. Cute and sweet with hints of comedy and drama here and there. I will probably re-watch it a few years from now. 8/10

Since I could not find the extended version fully subbed, I was only able to watch the first 12 episodes and then episode 68. I knew the ending for both the extended version and director’s cut, and although the second was fully subbed, I still chose to watch the few subbed episodes of the extended version because it had the ending that I wanted. Maybe it is a good thing that the extended version was not fully subbed as 68 episodes is a lot and I might have dropped it halfway. Anyway, I liked the ending of the extended version. It is the ending that a lot of us have wished to watch in other dramas but that never happened. Can’t say anything else or it will be a huge spoiler.

I know dramas are supposed to have drama, but this one overused it. Everytime you recover from one frustration, another one comes up. Instead of An Ning being the female lead, I felt it was more like everyone else was the main lead of their own story and An Ning was just there to be the punching bag and make things go smoother for them. I cant remember when was the last time I found a drama so painful to watch. I skipped a lot of the supporting characters scenes, it took me only 5 hours to finish the 41 episodes and although I must have missed a lot of drama, the amount I had to put with was still TOO MUCH. There are not enough happy moments in this drama to make you recover from all the frustrating plots.

Drama and melodrama should definitely be added as genres for this drama. After this I feel like I have to watch a drama with comedy to recover from this painful ride.

Hahah thank you for going to all that trouble. I will definitely check those out and give you my feedback later.

I never watched Tempature of Love because of the mixed reviews but maybe I should give it a try at least. I watched In Time With You not that long ago and really liked it. I also like to watch independent female leads, maybe because I am 23 years old. If I think of what I liked to watch when I was 16, if it was now I would not even bother to watch it - too many clichés, weak and crybaby female leads, ... I guess what a person likes to watch also changes as the person gets older. Might be cause we want to be able to relate to the characters.

Title Back to 1989 Spoiler
Dropped it at episode 3 and could predict the father secret. Saw recaps here https://dramaforreal.com/?s=back+to+1989…
Like you, I predicted the truth behind his birth just watching the first few episodes. It was quite obvious. But I was not able to predict who the father was until episode 13-14. Although I knew that the way she would get pregnant would be filled with angst since she never wanted to talk about the father. So yeah, it was quite obvious from the first few episodes that she would get pregnant from rape BUT I still kept guessing who the father was, and until episodes 13-14, I was pretty sure who the father would be...except I was wrong and it turned out to be someone else. And even if I had guessed the father right, I would have still kept watching. I liked the scenes between the main couple and the story had some pretty emotional parts. Of course the time traveling thing was not properly explained and didnt have much logic, but again, its time traveling, its hard for something not logic to have logic.

At the end of the day, I dont regret watching it. I sometimes drop dramas because they dont fit my mood that day or because Im in a drama slump. If that was the case, you might give this another chance later. I hope my comment can help you decide if this deserves another chance or not. Although if you read all the recaps and already know everything, including the ending, then you might not be interested in watching it anymore. Been there, done that. ^ ^

Believe the hype for this drama. Starts off a bit slow but I'd say at about the 5th or 6th episode it starts to…
Exactly. I ignored this one so many times but was curious as to why everyone else seemed to like it. I gave it a try and dont regret it. The intro ost is amazing. Has to become part of my playlist which is mainly filled with kpop.

Several times I came across this drama and never gave it a chance. Why? Melodrama and plot centered around Revenge - 2 things that put me off. I have watched so many dramas that I got tired of melodrama and plots centered around revenge because of family situations. BUT, like I said, I kept seeing this drama everywhere, the rating is not bad and it has the Hot tag on kissasian. I was in the mood for a taiwanese drama so I thought, meh, why not give it a try? I can watch the first episode and if I can’t get into it, I can just drop it.

Well, I did NOT drop it. Starting with that amazing intro which I am going to be listening for a while and the pace of the first episode - not too slow, not too fast. I watched the second episode, then the third and I kept watching. Later on, ofc, there were episodes I liked less because with a revenge plot, I knew I was setting myself for angst at some point. But the angst wasnt excessive in my opinion and the last episode wrapped up things nicely.

So yeah, I HATE Melodrama and I HATE Revenge, but I CANNOT bring myself to HATE this one.

Hate to break it to you if you haven’t finished it yet but it will get even messier. So many puzzle pieces thrown…
You’re welcome. There are so many good dramas out there and so little time to watch them all. I wish I was like you and did not keep watching until the end.

I liked the first episode, seeing the kids growing up into adults and their interactions. It looked promising. Then from episode 2 and foward it was painful to watch. And when it finally looked like it was going well, bam the ending left me feeling cheated. I read the comments and still decided to watch, now I regret it. Such a waste of time.
