Person Xiao Zhan
I really feel sad for him with all his fans' war. Imagine, one day, he woke up and see all this bad news. He might…
I think he didn't sleep a minute that night and could see all his work being destroyed at an alarming rate. This is even more terrible.
XZ's relationships with fans have always been special and he always gave them guidelines from the beginning and Xiao Fei Xia are really wonderful people (ok, extreme cases are everywhere) and they also fell victim to the 227 incident. His fans as soon as they confessed that they are his fans, fell victim to terrible violence. Millions of innocent fans. Even now haters are attacking blindly, everyone. However, when it comes to listening to XZ, it's actually different. When his new single, "Spotlight," was selling like crazy breaking records, his Studio again asked fans to be moderate and reasonable. Fans don't listen. "Spotlight" has long broken the annual sales record and is still selling like crazy.
The fans are guided by love mixed with guilt and joyful elation that they can finally clearly help their idol. And haters don't stop. XZ again reminded his fans that they were to be kind to others.
XZ's relationship with fans is special because fans treat him like their older (or younger) brother, or as a son (grandson). They let him become a member of XNINE and then get their own single ("Man Zu"). He also defends them. When a certain company he posed for the magazine raised the price several times, he convinced them to refund the difference. Even a day or two ago, when one music platform was charging for listening to "Song of Red Plum" he led the company to return the money to fans. I don't know if he asked, threatened or covered the difference himself, but the money returned to the clients' accounts.
That is why Asian fans really love him crazy.
And all this hate he collects is not the fault of his fans. It is an organized, long prepared action of professionals. Yes, in China (all over East Asia) such things really happen.

Seeing him get hate for his fans actions is so sad! I'm not even that big a fan of him, but it just makes me so…
I am not Chinese, but I have been following the 227 incident from the beginning and although some of his fans are crazy, the whole incident was caused by professional anti-fans from the beginning. Professional haters took advantage of the fact that the AO3 site had technical problems and, after provoking XZ fans, spread the rumor that XZ fans caused the site to close in China. The truth is that the government never closed this site and AO3 warned about technical problems in December (they were doing something on the server). You could log in to the site all the time, only with a simple workaround. XZ fans did not report the site and did not close it, but haters took advantage of its technical problems and blamed XZ and its fans. They dragged teenagers frustrated by sitting at home and destroyed XZ's entire accomplishments overnight. There was terrible chaos, but after a few days the anger passed and free access to AO3 was regained. Teenagers backed out. Only professionals and freaks remained who attacked anyone who dared to speak in defense of XZ and the truth. They invented such stories that it is hard to believe that they are people at all.
XZ fans were innocent in this incident, but they understood that they were a little too arrogant, so everyone believed in their guilt and decided to face hatred with their love. Of course, they are a bit exaggerating with her, but you can't blame them. They really feel guilty for being the cause of their idol's suffering.
In China, almost everyone already knows that this is all the hackers who want to destroy XZ, because he is extremely popular and has no powerful "backs". Even his latest song, "Spotlight," which broke the world sales record, was accused of being plagiarism and theft, but when the author of the song made noise on Weibo and Tweeter, the haters again became the laughing stock.
XZ fans may be guilty of many unsightly behaviors, but incident 227 was a brilliantly prepared action of professionals who were just waiting for an excuse to attack the actor.

I think it's a rumor, but there may be some truth in it. "The Wolf" reportedly had problems with censorship, so they had to change some scenes (they cut 7 episodes), which could be associated with the tightening or changing of several other scenes.
Certainly there are not many changes, because XZ has changed a lot since 2017, he has slimmed down a lot. It would look strange if in one movie scene he was masculine and in another - ethereal :)
Nowhere have I heard anyone from "The Wolf" want to change something just because XZ is famous. Anyway, he wouldn't want it and wouldn't have time for it. Actually, since he became famous, he had such a busy schedule that there would be no place to stuff the next film days and anyway fans would know that because they followed him everywhere. Me too :)
Second lead in some productions is almost as important as the main character, especially if the characters form a team or are rivals. In addition, the drama has over 50 episodes. Therefore, it can be expected that XZ will have a lot of air time and an interesting romantic theme, but the chances that the creators changed the scenes especially because he became famous, I estimate at 0.001%.

He broke the Hall of Fame Records Sales on QQMusic in only 16 hours after release without any freaking promotion.…
I don't know much about Chinese music platforms and records, but when I saw those flying roses and "heart-shaped tulips" I couldn't take my eyes off it. I haven't seen anything like this in my life. What you are talking about is really impressive!
I forgot which platform, probably Tencent V, was promoting this song a few minutes after midnight. Tencent wants all his TV series. I rub my hands on "The Wolf" - and try to cool my hopes. All signs indicate that the premiere is coming soon, but the Chinese showbiz is so unpredictable! It has been more than once that without anything the series were canceled on the day of the premiere.

You are right. He is a walking promotion. Whatever he touches it's gonna get sold out lol. They really need to…
Oh ye! The song is really catchy and immediately falls to your head. The hit was just born :) I tried to count how many millions he made with this song, but I got lost. He made it available at midnight and reached platinum status in nine minutes. You have to be a fool not to play "The Wolf" now.
I heard that "The Wolf" had a problem with censorship, that's why its premiere was delayed. Since c-drams earn from the number of episodes, they didn't want to reduce their number. Since they decided to give up 7 episodes to satisfy censorship, it means that they really care about entering the market as soon as possible. In fact, everything is happening very quickly and unpredictably in China now. XZ fans are so vigilant that even without warning about the premiere episode they will learn about it within a few minutes and its audience will be gigantic.
It occurred to me that because several competing platforms announce "The Wolf", they can now set the order of emission among themselves. At this point, I see 97% chance of "The Wolf" broadcasting in spring 2020. 3% are sudden and unpredictable factors, which, unfortunately, are quite common in China :(
"The Wolf" jaiyou!

CCTV? I thought Hunan would be more interested in "The Wolf". You know, Taiwan. But if "The Wolf" actually has to go to television, they have to hurry, because it still has 11 episodes too many to fit in the new regulations, and I do not know since when they come into force and do they concern existing drama?

Xiao Zhan is positively hot again and attracts capital like crazy. Currently, everything related to his name is sold even without advertising.
Xiao Zhan released a new single, Spotlight, sometimes translated as "Light Spot" without an early announcement. The single breaks sales records. It is very energetic and met with very good reception. Zhan Zhan returned in the sunshine - the hopes for the broadcast of "The Wolf" are even greater :)
I know that many do not like that his name is so strongly associated with "The Wolf", me too, but the facts are facts - drama is done to make money, and he is now the cheapest advertisement for "The Wolf".

No worries when they filmed The Wolf, hardly anyone heard of XZ, so they couldn't change anything. It was even before "Oh! My Emperor" :) I am waiting for "The Wolf" regardless of XZ and there are several actors whom I like, and especially actresses. Li Qin is not forgotten and many viewers in China are happy to see her. Even if they didn't like her before, they loved her in "Jade Dynasty". As soon as "The Wolf" sees the light of day, she will definitely compete in popularity with Dilireba, Yang Zi or Yang Mi. I can bet it will be a super boost for her popularity :) Darren is not popular on the mainland, that's why people don't talk about it that much.
It is a bit sad that some put the burden of success (or failure) of the whole drama on one actor, but unfortunately this is very often the case. This has its negative side, but it also has its positive side. XZ has the biggest fandom and everyone with one voice will support the whole drama and all the actors playing there. And haters - well, which actor doesn't have them? I have read some of their opinions on Darren and Li Qin.
The only scenario that they could change for XZ is "Joy of Life 2", but this is not a forum about it :)
So no worries, XZ will be the normal number 2 :)

Every TV station loves money. The question is whether "The Untamed" was a success for Netflix (I don't know, maybe someone will tell me?). If so, they will almost certainly buy "The Wolf". The popularity of XZ is not a joke. Now Japan is crazy about him. As far as I know, both Americas and Australia also like him very much, although I don't know to what extent. Although there is a risk that Netflix will buy "The Wolf" after the broadcast in China, like in "The Untamed".
Requests from fans will definitely help. Netflix is making good money now, so many people have started watching TV series ... That's why I have a feeling they'll buy "The Wolf".

This series is "Love of Thousand Years" which releases the last episodes. Youku likes to announce the premiere 2-3 days before the broadcast, so nothing is known (yet).
There is, unfortunately, the possibility that "The Wolf" will not take its place. It has two strong competitors, ie "Large Fire on the Moon" and "Twiling Song". There are also several smaller ones. Currently, there is a kind of plebiscite and voting, which series is to come first. I do not have today's information yet, they will be in a few hours.
We all hope for "The Wolf", but the situation is a bit complicated. "The Wolf" is now ready for broadcast, but there are some frictions that may delay it. Let's say two powerful forces are rubbing this series. 60/40 for the premiere now. Unfortunately, the opponents brought heavy guns again :(
Seriously, what is happening in Chinese show business is more interesting than many drama :)

I have to disappoint you, but I don't know Chinese, I'm just learning it, but I recognize several titles and names, so I can verify if a given title is high on the list. "The Wolf" has been in the lead for over a month. There are several Chinese channels that provide information with English subtitles. I have been following them for many months and I know they are reliable. In addition, there are translators that help me verify info :). I have to sit on it a bit, but I can learn a lot. The incident 227 to blood people, but already in March people in power said that all three XZ dramas are scheduled for this year. XZ will attract millions of viewers around the world to "The Wolf". His last song on the first day of the broadcast was so popular that it crashed the system and has been continuously at the top of popularity lists for 9 days. How can they not take advantage of the actor's popularity and not make money on it?
I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix bought The Wolf - although that's just my guess.

My information comes only from Chinese sources and Youku actually launched a promotional campaign, I saw screenshots provided by Chinese yotubers. They talk about Youku and Tencent, I haven't heard about the others. There is no official release date yet, only guesses, but if they want to make money on this drama, this is the best time. Nobody wants to compete with "Douluo Dalu" and "The Outh of Love" :). Soon the broadcast of a certain series ends on Youku and the news is that "The Wolf" will come right after that drama. In China, "The Wolf" is one of the most anticipated series of this year..
Oh, I do not know if anyone has already mentioned it, but the number of episodes was reduced to 51, this is official information, which was given by several Chinese sources.
