i just found out it is actually adapted from a novel

I tried so hard to like it ! i really did! I got up to episode 6, and thought i could hang in there until episode 10...looking back I think it had to do with the pacing and characters. currently i am watching shows with a lot going on (early on) in terms of plot and schemes...I just couldn't be engaged. I say give it a shot because you might like it; it just didn't engage me and these shows can be very subjective in terms of quality

episode 1 is finally at 100% on viki for those of you who have been waiting!

From someone who just dropped a popular show (so I fully support anyone's choice to stop show if they don't like it ) I will say that the CGI is less common in future episodes and his character becomes more likable in the sense that he isn't nearly as naive/innocent as he seems. But if you don't like it then then you don't like it (the only thing I don't like is there is a subplot later on with a poorly acted character)

......somehow this show has gotten away with nudity through the effective use of a translucent fabric scene. How long before China deletes this scene?

so far I am hooked: Qu Yuan is essentially a prodigy. He is extremely smart and the kind of guy who wants to uphold justice for the people. What saves him from being boring (and annoying) is the fact that he fails to see how his actions, however well intended, can have negative consequences. His perception is limited by his understanding of human nature and blurred by his desire to enforce justice in a very literal sense. This is evident to Chou Nu, and it will become increasingly evident to Yuan'er as he realizes that 'doing the right thing' isn't as simple as he believes. He is extremely confident that what he is doing will ultimately benefit everyone, but I think he will learn that this isn't so simple. I look forward to seeing him see what his actions lead to, and him one day realizing why the emperor recognized talent in him but calls him 'still young'. I think that is the reason why he gave him the job as magistrate, to grow.

.....I am dropping it. I just couldn't get into it. My qualm is not with the acting it is with the script. To everyone else who likes it, carry on. Again, I REALLY wanted to like it but it just is not for me.
