100% agree. I wanted Rang to live with the family that chose him and try to find a way to atone for his sins and instead they had him die to bring Yeon back. A complete waste. Also they allude to it being 9 years in the future because she ran into that god that comes and brings bad luck every 9 years. They really could have put a time stamp to make that clearer though. Even with that, what you said makes sense. How are we to believe that Rang reincarnated that quickly into a human after all the crimes he committed? Also I'm with you, why would Yeon lie that whole time about being human? That last 5 seconds was just so unnecessary and didn't make any sense.
It could have been a better drama but the romance was stifling .Yeon not being really dead was no surprise since…
100% agree. I did not shed a tear when Yeon "died" but I was bawling when Rang died. I'm so upset that he didn't get a chance to live with the family that loved and chose him and decided to give it all up for Yeon who continuously placed him behind his love for Ji Ah. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the brotherly relationship between Yeon and Rang but it was always apparent that Rang needed Yeon more than Yeon needed him. Like when Rang was dying in episode 12, Yeon said he would save him in his own way but then did nothing but go on a vacation with Ji-Ah and scheme how to get the Imugi away from her.
The emotional impact wasn't there for me for the leads reunion because I was never invested in the main romance. I didn't feel any chemistry and their relationship seemed rushed, I was invested in the Rang's character growth and story and I loved his relationship with Su ho and Yoo Ri. The happy ending for me was him living with his family, trying to atone in some way for his sins; while JI-Ah and the rest of the characters live there lives happily. The writers ruined the ending for me.
I've been loving Kim Bum this whole show but can I say Lee Taeri really bought it in the last episode! I loved his whole speech with Taluipa when it revealed he was using her son's face and he was the reason the son's wife got killed and he committed suicide. Even crazier that he did all that because he got jealous that the son had a romantic partner and wasn't just his friend anymore. While watching the show I thought the Imoogi turned completely evil because he had never known love but he had the pure friendship of Taluipa's son and still turned around and did evil shit.
While Jiah and Yeon were making love, Rang was about to die in his bed, this just make me hate that scene more…
Right! That was such a turn off for me. After ep 9 it looked like the relationship between Rang and Yeon was healing. Yeon said that he never abandoned Rang and when Rang was stabbed up, he said that he would find a way to save his brother. All of those declarations seemed to go out the window because he wasn't actively looking for a way to save Rang and was instead taking a trip with Jiah. I think this is part of the reason I can't get into the leads relationship. Besides the lack of chemistry, Yeon doesn't seem to care about anyone else except for Jiah and it always feels like he would sacrifice his brother, Shin Joo and basically everyone he knows to save her.
i'm going to be so honest and say that this drama lacks something that i can't quite put a finger on. i started…
I agree. I've basically only been watching for the bromance between LDW and Kim Bum. Kim Bum has successfully stole the drama for me. I have to say ep 8 and 9 have been the best of the series and if nothing else, you should watch those two episodes.
I definitely understand both viewpoints and it may just be a generational thing since Yeon is older and has more…
I get what usernamenotfoundXX is saying. Like you said I think it's great to have a romantic partner but the way the show is portraying their love story, it makes it seem like Yeon completely cut Rang out of his life and disregarded his feelings as soon as he got with Ji Ah. I did get pretty annoyed too but it may be that we've only seen things from Rang's point of view. A lot of blanks still need to be filled in and the only flashbacks we've seen from that period where Yeon left or disappeared were Rangs. Like he was abandoned as a child by his mother and it looks like he may have still been a child when the romance between Yeon and Ji Ah was going on and Yeon disappeared. It also seemed like he went through a lot of trauma in that period with the forest being burnt down and his dogging dying essentially making him homeless and alone. Before episode 8, it didn't really seem to me that Yeon cared about his brother at all while it was obvious that Rang wanted his attention. You have a really good point though about the tough love aspect and it definitely put things in a different light for me.
I'm not really seeing much chemistry between the main leads and that may also be why I'm not really feeling the romance aspect of this show. Their storyline is somehow moving fast and slow. It feels like they fell for each other really fast but that their hasn't been enough devlopment in their relationship to be at the stage they are at. Like I am not nearly as emotionally connected to them as I should be at episode 8. I usually love a good romance/bromance mix.
100% agree. At this point I'm only watching for him. I don't really see any chemistry between the main leads and I know that Lee Rang has done bad things but he has been begging for his brother's attention since ep 1. I really felt that Lee Yeon didn't care about their relationship until episode 8 gave me hope.
Kao is the worst. Spends the whole series refusing to publicly acknowledge his relationship with Pete afraid to…
Non is in no way innocent. He literally set out to destroy Pete and Kao's relationship and destroy Kao's life and reputation. Kao had no choice but to out Non because Non falsely accused him of sexual assault. The lie was not only affecting Kao but also Kao's friends and family. Did Non care about Kao's feelings when he did that? There is no way that Kao should care about Non's feelings at all when Non set out to destroy him. Non's homophobic Dad didn't make Non pursue Kao when he knew he was in a relationship or make him purposely create misunderstandings between Pete and Kao. Non is a terrible person and should have been thrown in jail.
Yes,Kangbae shouldn't be the prince since he is not the person who have the loveline with Weol Joo. Someone…
That is a really good theory about Weol Joo and Kang Bae. At this point, I'm 95% sure that Gwi is the prince and that's why he has chosen to stay by Weol Joo's side. Like when he died, they may have made him work as a detective catching evil spirits before he was allowed to help her. They made a point to say in episode 4 that nothing is free in the afterlife so that may have been the price he had to pay. It seems like nothing is coincidental in this show so Kang Bae being the reincarnation of Weol Joo's unborn child would make sense. The words on the scroll that made Weol Joo decide to help 100,000 people might have been that if she did so, she would be able to reunite with her mother. The loss of her mother seems to motivate a lot of her actions on the show so I can definitely see Weol Joo risking it all to meet her again.
