i'm actually kind of excited to get an offgun fluff even if it's a downgrade in quality. yeah they do well in dark genres, but offgun also excel in comedic fluff lightheartedness. i hope the writing is strong for this and stays more fluff/healthy than the trainwreck that was theory of love. i don't mind this offgun "downgrade" as long as it showcases their abilities well and has a great relationship. gmmtv has been having some MASSIVE hits recently with some of the healthiest couples so i'm hopeful offgun will get something good.
people just dont get it, the murder genre in the drama was not intent to puzzle you on who is who and who could…
agreed!!! people expected some murder mystery, but it was really to highlight how it affected her motherhood and mental health, as you said. throughout the series she's shown as a very strong mother and woman, but it's clear that the trauma broke through from time to time. she had so many responsibilities to tackle alone (running her restaurant, caring for her son, worrying about a killer on the loose). yongshik was there to encourage her to let her emotions out than keep them bottled up like how she always did. it's not a murder mystery, it's a catalyst for all the future events. i loved this show and yongshik is def such an underrated healthy male lead (but i suppose i can also understand where ppl are coming from when they call him stalkerish 😔)
i genuinely really love his acting. he gives so much attention to his facial expressions and facial details. i think one of the best aspects is that he puts in a lot of effort to his reactions, rather than just how he looks when speaking lines. it's one of the hardest things to do in acting and he's been excelling so far imo. he's really skilled at portraying more complex emotions and he also knows what vocal tone fits the mood. i really enjoy how he changes into a softer tone when the scene calls for it. it brings more emotion and depth into the scene than just saying it normally.
i really think he has a bright future in acting. my other fave young thai actors are nanon and jamyjamess and i'd say he has a somewhat similar feel to them. i hope he can branch out as well. looking forward to his future projects!
While I love this show very much, I think they did a poor job for ep 1, it's weak and typical.
i think moreso than what actually happens in the pilot, it's more about the atmosphere and the humor. the feel of it is pretty similar to mostly any other fluffy hs bl. the sound effects, the zoom ins, the cinematography, the comedic acting, the concept of rivals to lovers (from the pilot). this is a slow burn so ofc most of the best parts are in the latter half. i think they said it's a weak and typical pilot because of the typical FEEL of it, not necessarily the events that take place. they prob believe it lacked an enticing hook and the twist at the end wasn't enough to make up for it. i'm not sure cuz i'm not them.
and still, the story is technically a pretty typical plot. it just changes the order. yes that part is unique, but it's still the same plot. where this series shines is in its chemistry, but you don't get to that until you watch more.
i personally got into it at about ep 4-5. i didn't think the pilot was weak and typical, but i didn't think it was particularly special. i think that's because it's still a plot i've seen before so it didn't like...wow me? so maybe that's what the other person also felt. maybe they also had higher expectations going in.
i have my thoughts about the series, but i just want to say that ep 6 is prob my fave ep (in general) i've seen in a long long time (the mv making ep). i love how communicative they are and how they can understand each other without actually having to say anything. it feels so realistic unlike many oblivious romance characters i always see. where they're in constant denial or ignorance that the other person likes them. i love how naturally they both just fell into it. they both just KNOW. gun is such a great character. he might even make it onto my fave characters of all-time list fr.
plus, tilly birds is my fave band so having them featured in any show is always the best feeling. this was even better cuz i'm so familiar with the mv. the badminton scene was TOO funny.
Totally agree with this!!! He immediately became one of my favorite Thai actors because of that scene. You cannot…
yes exactly!!! the little details in his expression said so much. he was smiling, but his lips slightly turned downward and parts of his face gradually dropped + slight tears in his eyes. it's really difficult to portray that usually without it coming off as un-genuine. fourth literally looked like he was choking on tears, even his voice changed. my fave thai actor is jamyjamess cuz he excels in this aspect. it's easy to cry in acting, it's much harder to hold back tears while acting like everything is fine.
honestly, i'm in the minority apparently but i didn't enjoy this show much. i gave it another chance and i still can't seem to like it. love the cast, genre, and concept but idk the execution just doesn't cut it for me. i still might check s2 out though out of curiosity.
I wonder if folks really know what a good acting is or they just criticize because they are not fans of the actors.…
some people just have acting preferences and what they look for. it's not always just criticism, moreso that everyone watches with different perspectives. you may find someone's acting stellar and someone else may find it boring. it's just a matter of preference. same goes with the dramas themselves.
idk why they said yes, it's not really gorey at all but there is quite a bit of blood. there's one scene where someone loses an arm, though it's not very realistic imo. i personally can't handle gore yet i was perfectly fine with this. it's more like an action movie with the amount of blood. nothing super gorey where you'd feel sick, just regular action movie type of violence.
While I love this show very much, I think they did a poor job for ep 1, it's weak and typical.
revealing one liked the other for a long time before is still a typical plot, just moved to ep 1. regardless of when they reveal it, it's still a typical plot. not just in bl or hs bl, in almost every romance. they always end up having some kind of childhood connection. you can't fault daisy for having an opinion. no need to pull specific examples because even if you do that, it won't change their mind that it's still a typical ep.
fourth is actually such a great actor. in ep 5 around 41 mins when he doesn't make the audition, he portrays the feeling of sadness while pretending to be alright so well. one of the most impressive scenes an actor can do is holding back tears and he does it perfectly.
Chishiya and Nigagi I can still consider that maybe their vital organs weren't hit and they were just very slowly…
hmm intriguing theory. although if this was their intention then i personally don't think they portrayed it clear enough. i don't believe niiragi or chishiya would've had a stronger will to live than ann or tatta. and even then, it would've been nice (for the storytelling) to include at least ONE significant death from the massacre. all the other unknown contestants die easily so it makes the main characters feel far too superior with too much plot armor. i'll definitely feel sad, but at least i won't feel cheated. you can't just make a massacre ep with literally ALL the characters on the verge of death and then make absolutely zero of them die.
I think this is more like 1.5, between the 1st series and 2nd series.if you want to enjoy watching this more,…
ooh okay thank you for the reply! i saw this on netflix but love destiny is already on my ptw so i didn't know if it was standalone or not. i might actually start it soon cuz i've been wanting to watch a lakorn recently.
i really loved this show. it certainly had its flaws with its angsty lead, over the top monologues about dreams, and errr eps 8 and 9. but this was such a sweet show. i really felt the love and connection the members had with each other. the ending esp hit hard. if you're looking for romance then i would skip because it's not really a big part of it. the focus is much more on the members, their dreams, and their trial and errors. it was inspirational and heartwarming. now i'm a 8loomy!
