Episode 2, not too much going on and wasn't as hard to watch as Ep1 (thank god lol) but still a good watch nonetheless, it got my attention from beginning to end. The letter reading is the best part of the drama so far, very well done.
also the ending credit is very soothing and beautiful (not that i understand the lyrics though)
what an odd movie. a romance movie that isn't made for anyone that's looking for a romance movie, a school life…
the ending, yes it was unexpected but not really an unnecessary ending. the girl needed something to push her forward and be independent. And what happened made her strong enough to not only live her own life but his life too. It might be an unhappy ending to some but for me it's a good ending. the killer's motive was ridiculous though.
My one complain is i wish they'd spend more time to let us know more about her background, why was she always pessimistic? what made her like that? there were times she didn't want to go home, but they never showed anything about her family.
Also, maybe it's just me but every time it's Jimiko-chan and Kyapiko-chan's segment, my mind immediately went 'can Jimiko just confess her love to Kyapiko already? geez' they're so obvious it's driving me nuts lol
what an odd movie. a romance movie that isn't made for anyone that's looking for a romance movie, a school life drama that aims to mature audiences, if that makes any sense. if you expect to see a typical japanese sweet rom-com, this isn't it. you have been warned.
personally, i loved it, i laughed, cried and enjoyed it all through. the chemistry of the 2 leads was solid, i found them the cutest and the most hilarious out of the 3 stories.
an alright drama. very interesting premise but could have been written better. just like one of the comments below said, i also think it would have been better if they focused on how his abilities could be researched and used to save people, rather than going on and on about some silly radio show made by a bunch of annoying characters.
but anyway, Nikaido Fumi's styling in this drama is A++, i was UwU looking at her the whole time. well, except for the last 20 minutes, wtf did they think that wig is a good idea -_-
Fell in love with Shison Jun. He was so adorable as Momo. Great acting too
same here, i have always enjoyed his acting but this drama is the one that made me decide to follow his works (hope he'll get more good roles though). Glad to know you also loved his version of Momo ^^
Episode 1: the way Shigeki grabbed exactly the knife that Ema wasn't able to catch at the beginning, and then he used it to kill that son of a bitch, ahh that detail was kinda satisfying somehow.
I got a chance to watch this drama with subs since one of the cable channels in my country airs it just 3 hours after the airing in Japan. I haven't read the book nor watched any of the adaptions. The 1st episode although was a hard watch but a really good one. I notice Takenouchi Yutaka used to be in the 2009 movie adaption, he returned with a different role for the drama this time and he did an excellent job so far. Can't wait for the next episode.
And the fact that they even showed us all those flashbacks (which were very specific) made me realise that I didn't…
Thank you <3 And i notice Nojima Shinji's works here has been getting some attention again after you dropping your comments and reviews on his dramas' pages. Good job! i hope to see you around more on this site ;)
10/10. can you imagine putting that amount of details in such a short drama... a whole 10 for rewatch value.
i love that she broke up with Fuu and turned down Tsuchiya's proposal for helself, not for Iko. and it's painfully funny that everytime she did that, the guy immediately thought she had decided to go to the other guy lol
And the fact that they even showed us all those flashbacks (which were very specific) made me realise that I didn't…
lol as the mindset of Japan was in the 90s, maybe it's true that they had always planned to make this all about Shibata and Shiori. I wouldn't be surprised tbh. it's still a good drama nonetheless. I was revisiting the pages of my favorite dramas/movies and i saw your comment here unanswered since months ago so I couldn't help myself haha. I see you everywhere on MDL btw, you have quite an amount of completed shows, sugoi desune xD

I would also add when Shibata made the promise "- Forever? / - Forever." it was with Shiori, not Kaori lol But the way I see it, Shibata had always loved both of them but Shiori was more like a family to him and Kaori was more like a romantic interest. As you said, his feelings started to shift many years later when he reunited with Shiori. It's true that they did drop hints here and there, but i think those were just in order to foreshadow the ending, not to imply that Shibata had always had feelings for Shiori. If that makes any sense. But well, viewers have the rights to interpret the drama however they want. Personally I'm ok with the ending, but idk maybe my brain is already too fucked up for common sense haha..
Somebody please tell me where I can find this tune that begins at 16:18, or like the name of the OST? I wanna…
in case you haven't found it, that tune is named 'Wanderin' Destiny (Instrumental)' by S.E.N.S. i downloaded the whole OST album from somewhere i can't rmb and it's track no.8

the female voice starts at around 1:42.
