I like AmeKoi so much that I've read the manga and watched both the anime and the LA. No words can describe how happy i was when i heard that Nana Komatsu was going to be Tachibana. I love her and I like her version of Tachibana a lot, though I have to say that Nana gives off a different vibe from the character from manga and anime.
This live-action , in my opinion, is fairly faithful to the original, a little more faithful to the anime i think (because the manga version of Kondo is a really lousy old man at home lol). I was afraid the movie would feel a bit rushed because some parts were omitted to fit a movie duration, which is understandable. But I'm glad everyone here still thinks it's chill and slow paced, that's how it's supposed to be.
As for the ending, all 3 endings from manga, anime and movie are the same if anyone's wondering about that. In all 3, Tachibana and Kondo gave each other the courage to follow their dreams. But each ending is slightly different in term of how close Tachibana and Kondo's relationship will be in future. The anime ending might be the most beautiful one (visually and metaphorically) but the movie one gives us a ray of hope, which is why I like the movie's ending a little bit more than the other 2.
If you like the movie, i highly recommend checking out the anime :)
a very good psychological thriller, i found it fascinating even.
just one tiny rant tho, i still don't understand the dog's necessity in the movie. i just wish the dog didn't exist at all because honestly **that final part** was the most off-putting scene in the whole movie for me.
Got a chance to watch this on my TV cable on Women’s Day. Lovely family and slice of life movie, very slow pace and quiet, almost no climax. Mostly focus on Taiwanese food tho.
