As far as I'm concerned, I find this drama a lot palatable than "Because of You". In "Because of You", there are overwhelmingly too many pull-out-my-hair moments, whereas "Nice to Meet You" gives us a lot of heart-warming, pleasant, sweet, loving moments which I genuinely relish.
When will the main leads get together officially? I'm at ep 9 and slightly getting bored. :/
Yes, but not at the end; he had to return to wherever ... Having said that, the ending is kind of "open". It seems he came back, but that's the end of the story. If you crave for romance, the last 2 episodes are heart-warming -- so much love. Make me want to fall in love too!
I was looking forward to this because of Ariel and the expectation grew because of Vin. The general plot is pretty…
You're absolutely right. Rushed is the word. The production squeezed everything into the last episode by killing off everyone. What an easy thing to do. They didn't even bother to write proper conclusions for those characters. Like you, I was enjoying this drama at the beginning, then it went downhill. I almost pulled out my hair in the last few episodes; it was unbearable but I wanted to watch the ending, so I pressed on. Well, what to do? Let's find another drama to watch. By the way, have you watched "Goodbye My Princess"? If you don't care about sad ending, this is a must-watch.
When I first started watching this drama I thought I was watching a copy of Yanxi Palace as there was a lot of…
I'm so pleased that there's another person enjoying this drama as I do. Yes, this is a wonderful drama, despite how accurately it is depicting the events. The important thing is with the story telling, the acting, the cinematography, the final production, among other things. Things in this drama sound logical and there were not that many inconsistencies. I believe this is how we should judge the quality of a drama.
Thou I always like real historical dramas, but this ... It reveals too much of human's ugly nature, full of wickedness…
I absolute agree with you. This is a great drama, and this version depicting events happened more than 2,000 years ago sounds more logical and plausible, especially with the behavior of Hao Lan. I love the Hao Lan character in this drama. I love the Ying Yi Ren character too. Differing from you, I don't find him selfish. There were multiple times he could have escaped but he came back for Hao Lan. Had he simply married the Zhao Princess Ya, his immediate predicament could have been mitigated. He didn't. He was a man with great vision and integrity. I only regret that he went so quietly. There were no emotional speeches, wills for Hao Lan, legacies, etc. He was such an important figure and yet it felt like he was just in the background all the time.
Really has this been confirmed? I would love to know how they went from the biggest names in China to xing xu…
According to some news, the big names' schedule could not meet the schedule for this drama. So the production had to switch actors. What a wonderful choice. Can't imagine Chen Kun, a 41 years old, playing the 5th Prince who was probably 16 or so, and Fan Bin Bin playing a 16 year old as Xiao Feng. It would have been a disaster. Chen Kun doesn't have that boyish look, and Fan Bin Bin doesn't have that naive and cute look (she's is beautiful).
Talking about this drama giving one depression, it even gave the actor, Chen Xing Xu, himself a lot of emotional turmoil while acting some episodes. There are a few behind-the-scenes of him crying uncontrollably after the shooting.
A drama should not be judged by its happy or sad ending; it should be judged by the acting, cinematography, story telling, music, among others. With these criteria in mind, this is a very well done, high quality drama.
It's tagged "tragedy". Yes, it's really very sad. There are people who hate it and people who love it. I fall in the latter camp. Watch it and see which camp you fall under.
Question, did LCY and XF slept together? There's like a part where XF was on the swing and LCY got mad and threw…
That's the question I've been asking too, did LCY violate XF? No idea. Didn't show in the episode despite alluding to it. Thought I missed something, but still haven't found out. There's also one scene that LCY slept with SeSe. I'm also not sure if they had s**, but SeSe touched her tummy the second day alluding perhaps that she was expecting (I'm pretty confused!)
Pei liked XF as a friend. He felt very guilty because he was also involved in slaughtering the Danchi. So he had wanted to make it up to her by protecting her whenever he could.
Just started this drama. Only at episode 2. Trying to press myself to continue watching. Bad dubbing, mouth movement way off. Still can't connect with the leads yet.
The only thing I noticed cheesy, in this one, is the sick makeup...and even that didn't even make me cringe because…
Good points. Love your lists. Now I know where to look for dramas I want to watch next. From your lists, I know you're a happy person. Stay that way. I actually stumbled across GMP without checking the tag. It just drew me in and couldn't withdraw myself until it's too late. Now I'm all broken. I need to find a good happy romantic drama to watch now to mend my heart. Any recommendations?
Someone made a hilarious video for this drama. Maybe it can give you a few seconds of laugh-out-loud laughter to mitigate the pain. https://youtu.be/SWbAXE3CbYE
Yes, beautiful song, giving me a nostalgic feeling, especially the part that was sung in ethnic language (what…
I think the ethnic language is Yi, a minority race in China living in the western part of China - just as where Xiao Feng came from - the Xi (western) State. This is the Yi version: https://youtu.be/Zv9oLL4feBA

Cannot imagine it without Chen Xing Xu and Peng Xiao Ran. It would have been so different!
