Agree that the ML and FL are attracted to each other again and again. My only concern is, how is the 5th Prince going to redeem himself? How the 9th Princess's heart be broken all over again when she finds out the truth? Just the thought already pains me.

Considering it came out in 2015, Chinese dramas have improved greatly since then, especially in terms of costumes and makeup. Yes, I liked Nirvana in Fire (1) a lot, better than the sequel. I like Hu Ge. He's one of the actors with a lot of depth. I like the plot and scheming with a lot of twists and turns. I only fully understood the whole drama after the second viewing. I like the simpler unadorned gown worn by Mei Chang Su; it really brought out his aura and uniqueness.

Same here. He uses people's affection for his own gain.

Love the way Peng Xiao Ran plays the character of the 9th Princess. She is so pure, so beautiful, so natural ... For once, I fall in love with a FL instead of a ML.

I'm at episode 12 and can't bear it longer, so painful to watch. 5th prince is such a despicable man, likewise for Gu Jian. Feel like strangling them both!

Oh my god, it's so painful to watch that her whole tribe was slaughtered by the person she loved. She lost everything. Imagine the hatred within her, must be so painful and overwhelming. The FL has played this role amazingly. I have never watched this actress's dramas before. I think I should start noticing her.

Yes, that's true, being remembered was probably his ultimate intention which was also revealed somewhere in the conversations. Just that, it's sometimes hard to fathom some logic behind certain actions.

This drama is about to wrap up for me. I'm going to miss my Zhang Bin Bin. Is there another similar character out there right now to take over Zhang? If not, what am I going to do until one finally comes along? :(

He refused to see Hao Lan for the last time. Was it because he didn't want to say goodbye? Or was it because he was trying to get her to forget him (asking all his belongings be burnt) so that she could be 'returned' to Lu Bu Wei? Not quite sure what his intention was.

I don't remember everything Yi Ren had said, but I find him the most inspiring character. He was deep but hidden. He never showed off what he knew and how good he was. He was kind, thoughtful, but knew how to say 'No' diplomatically.

I like Wallace Chung in "General and I" but not the FL. She is so beautiful but has no chemistry with me. I find her pretentious. When I first watched "Sound of Desert", like you, I was hooked. I watched Eddie over and over again. I thought I could die for him. But I moved on :)

Ha... Yes, Eddie was my heartthrob for awhile. But I move on, There were Wallace Chung in "General and I", Mark Chao in "Eternal Love", Deng Lun in "Ashes of Love". Mine! I'm such a jerk :D

I know what you mean. When I first started, I watched a few episodes and gave up. I couldn't understand why the high rating. Then I couldn't find anything good to watch, so I went back and watched it again, many months later. It was hard at first to grasp the various realms. But I tried. I was only hooked very much later when Yue Hua appeared. From there, there was no turning back. It's true that there was a lot of misunderstandings which really drove me nuts. But seeing the persistent love that the ML had for his girl, my heart melted.
