OMG, they both overdo the role-switching so much. The FL isn’t as emotional as he portrays her, and the ML isn’t as stoic and emotionless as she portrays him. I actually feel like they have a similar vibe when they’re in their own bodies.
I agree — neither of them is perfect, and she definitely has her reasons. But what really frustrates me is that…
It gets better as the story progresses. He gets a chance to explain himself. Also, it's not like he holds her accountable. At least to me it seems like he understands her reasons while still arguing for himself and from some point they navigate things together.
some people keep hating on the FL without realizing that’s the point of her character. character development…
Yeah, I agree. Personally, I think her POV is explained and she was consistent as well as her growth. She was not problem solver, but she also did not plan to be one knowing the story. Still, she was more invested that typical FL and I didn't have impression that she was constant damsel in distress.
not the scriptwriter being a whole assh*le, I have never heard of a writer who isnt attached to their characters…
yes, I think that's one of the themes: if you are writing, have respect for your characters and don't just put things together in an "iconic" way just because.
I lost count of how many times I wanted to stab Chu Guihong throughout the drama 😭
Honestly, I wish more arc was built around him. Somewhere in the middle he got obsessed for whatever reason (almost feels like it was simply to get the original plot going) and from that point on it was only down for him.
Song YiMeng doesn't deserve Nan Heng, seriously. I've been trying to push through without commenting but she's…
I think she's ok. She has her personality and her reasons and as you look at the situations from her point, it's understandable. They both are not perfect.
Sometimes I feel like costume drama post-credit scenes are just fan service and they don't mean much except making the viewers talk about it and keeping the interest. I guess she FL made her choice about where she wants to be and that's what matters for the ending.
This couple is so frustrating I wanna punch a wall. A divorce couple who hadn't seen each other until their child's…
Yeah, the miscommunication is annoying. It seems to be at the level where she believes he won't understand even if she tells him—he has to go through it himself. Not sure yet where the 'I wanna kill you' trope is coming from.
Age is one major factor, but also Jia Xu was someone they knew and considered family. They trusted him as another…
This is a very good point. I also think it that could be a bit different attitude towards son and daughter and being extra protective of their daughter.
