I am sorry that our opinions do not align, but it doesn't mean that it is ok to go after personalities. We can have normal conversation and agree to disagree.

I do view Luke as egoistic and controlling. That is my read of the character and I am looking towards seeing him learn and grow. Again, that doesn't mean that I do not enjoy watching this character, watching the drama, or that I do not root for him. Both can be true at the same time.

I would feel hurt yes, but not because they didn't tell me and it hurt my ego that I coudn't step in. But because they didn't feel safe enough with me to tell me. Emotional intimacy, safe space and support is important for me in relationship.

I am not saying I do not understand Luke's reaction. I am saying he has a space to grow.

WFIW, I do not think such reaction is ok between a parent and a child. I get it, it is humane, it hurts. But as a parent, one must do a much better job to create a safe space for their kid to come to them when there are problems.

I kind of disagree with this "Anyone who loves their partner will feel that way". There is one more step that you need to go in a good relationship before lahing out, which is "Why was I kept in the dark? What was not working that I wasn't told?" The order matters. When you make it more about the other person when they are hurt and then about your feelings, it becomes more functional.

The bench scene and the apology after - I liked watching it, he cared and took accountability for his actions.

yes, I noticed that comment when he asked "why do you not use bagS" as in plural, but we saw only one being gifted. Well, I hope they thought about this and after changing a story created a good reason for breakup that woudn't sounds made-up or superficial

It is interesting, but I’ve found that very often in life or and when reading through drama analyses, people excuse men way more than they excuse women. A man with a baby who is barely scraping by is seen as cute, while a woman in the same situation is judged as bad. A man with red flags is adored for every green-flag action, whereas a woman with green flags is criticized for every red-flag moment. A man is excused for saying terrible things, while a woman is punished for it. The standards that many societies set for women are so high, it is exhausting. Because of this, I just made a rule for myself that I automatically take the woman's side in life, even if I am friends with the man. Men simply have it easier, whether they acknowledge it or not.

I haven't read the novel, but in the drama, I don't think they show just how many internal thoughts and struggles it takes for Flora to navigate her situation. I am assuming this based on what I know about her character. I am pretty sure that Luke doesn't second-guess or overthink things, and it feels like almost every thought he has about Flora is shown to us. Meanwhile, Flora's motivations, thoughts, and struggles are hidden. In my opinion, this creates a disconnect that is not bridged for some viewers.

It creates so much discussion, the scheduling choice seems deliberate

He can be both, good and bad at the same time. Protective for her when it's about others and hurtful when it's about him. This is what makes his character more complicated and also more real.

It deserves to be talked about. If the rating puts it up here for this, so be it. But compared to other shows this is refreshing to watch.

For every affection that ML shows, FL reciprocates. So her lack of "communication" and so on does come from the nature of their relationship and power imbalance.
