I can't believe this is a late-night dorama, they made good use of cinematography and even special effects. Shunji Iwai and other movie guys have to be given more chance to handle experimental doramas like this.
Agreed with you, although I think your refereeing is a bit over the top, at least someone new in jdrama who hasn't watched the previous seasons would still be entertained. The third season lacks charm it has in the previous two season.
Easily the most underrated dorama in the last 5 years - refreshing, warm, meaningful and of course funny. It hints a lot of details that already appeared in their (yes, Kizara Izumi are a screenwriter duo) previous, even lesser-known to mainstream dorama enthusiasts called Suika (which is a favorite of mine, I urge you guys to watch this amazing show as well).
I'm eyeing on Gomenne Seishun and Yuube no Curry so far, their screenwriters can't do wrong in my books (well, they can't do anything when it comes to casting, it's up to the producers). A bit unsatisfied on the latter's overall casting especially on the students but I think Mitsushima could make differences (have yet to see her doing comedies though). Takenouchi's Taxi, Gugu The Cat remake, the zombie thingy, and Kora Kengo's dramas could be wild cards in the season. And hooray for the 3rd season of Shinya Shokudo!
She is a natural actress and her screen presence is undeniably strong. Not mentioning her superb versatility especially…
Sorry for the looonggg overdue reply. I think both Your Hands Are Whispering and Dolls already represent the best of her. Not many can portray someone with such agitated expression like in Dolls and on the other hand, naive deaf girl with amazing finesse and flair. Too bad she is now in semi-retirement state due to her marriage. We'll gonna miss this lady a lot.
I still can't get over the fact that some people say that the acting in Piece is good. For me, almost all of the cast are pathetically abysmal at doing their job done. Someone has to swap 95% of the original cast with better ones to make it really work.
Meanwhile, Biblia is a very underappreciated by some critics just because they had Gouriki in it. I like the directing and cinematography, which are definitely top notch.
If you are really into mystery shows, I urge you to watch real deal shows like Gonzo, Marks no Yama, OCN series, or Soratobu Taiya.
Whenever Koreans adapted dramas from Japanese or Taiwanese they always add irrelevant scenes to make it longer.…
I heard this version will be limited to 10 episodes, thus making it very likely to be more focused on the storyline and intrigues among the participants.
I once thought Liar Game is un-remakeable, especially for Korean or Taiwanese dramas. At least finally the audiences in Korea are matured and start to be open towards more various array of genres. They are catching up while the Japanese are stalled nowadays when it comes to ideas.
I like him a lot in Adrift in Tokyo, Jikou Keisatsu series, and Atami. It seems he is one of Satoshi Miki's regulars, or at least favorites. To my surprise, he even wrote a script and directed one of Jikou Keisatsu's episode. Talented man indeed!
