I'd say it deserves the rating it has right now. Interpret that however you will.

I was a grad student in international relations. I literally work everyday between the bullshit of different countries. I understand very clearly when I see nationalist propaganda, whether it be Chinese, Indian, US, British, Saudi, or wherever. I don't care where it comes from, I will oppose it 100% EVERY TIME. China's is called out frequently because the 广播电影电视总局 doesn't hide it and it's very blatant and obvious. I don't gaf about any nation-state. I value people. If you don't like my comment you can feel free to ignore it.

Great martial arts sequences. Great acting. Story was overall pretty good, but the editing and pacing in many of the middle episodes was not good so it detracts from this being a great drama IMO. I think it deserves to be over an 8 rating here given that it finishes strong.

If I had this much non-stop drama in my family I would personally disown all of them myself. I would voluntarily become an orphan and exile myself to another province. She hasn't had a single normal week where someone in her family wasn't doing something annoying. It's exhausting.

Agree. It's definitely not his best work. It'll get ton of views just because of the actors and high budget, but the pacing of the story is not good and a lot of the dialogue makes me just fast forward.

Glad I gave this a chance. First few episodes have totally hooked me.

I tend to avoid this era as well for the same reasons. I'm going to wait until this is done before deciding if I'll watch.

Finished first episode then just started the 2nd but I got tired of EY folloiwing around HYQ, seemed kind of irrational.

I like both the leads but this is one isn't doing it for me.

Peng XiaoRan and Zhang Shi An are just too pretty to be on the screen at the same time. I literally get distracted and lose track of what they're saying when they're both on screen. 🫣

There's waaaaay too much crying in these latest episodes. It gets tiresome.

I normally like these kind of GMMTV stories but this doesn't look interesting to me at all so I'll wait to see if people actually like it and maybe I'll watch it if I get bored.

As this show goes on i find myself fast forwarding through more of the episodes. Im losing interest in what happens to any of them.
