This actress plays the most unlikeable characters... lol
Her in Neechan no Koibito is probably the most likable character she's played yet?

Wow, not a single comment for this beautiful, talented, amazing gem of an actress? Disappointing.
Tbf she's rarely ever a main role

Lol, the age of consent in Japan is 13, and the consent is 16 in a lot of states in America so not really that…
Gosh, I hate this common misconception about Japan so much.

ONE RURAL AREA IN JAPAN WITH AGE OF CONSENT OF 13 DOES NOT EQUATE TO THE REST OF JAPAN.

Person Shison Jun
Shison needs to pick better dramas/movies for boasting his fame, I like his portraying of the character in Todome…
I think he does pick good projects, but lately I think he's being typecasted as your usual young, cheerful, anime-like character. Would be nice if he took on other works like High&Low, Todome no Kiss or The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window

I think the movie was released on Jan 22nd, but like in actual theaters (correct me if wrong) in Japan.. so I…
I mean, y'all gotta wait for DVD/Blu-Ray which will be around 7-9 months.. and then subs, which is a matter if anyone will sub it or not and how long until then so..

Nerved meaning?

Felt like mentioning this because I watched the anime not too long ago and Sagara is still actually strong (but ofc not compared to Ito, Mitsuhashi, Satoshi etc). But I'm not that too bothered by it anyway.

Sigh I hate how we always have to wish someone will sub a Japanese drama. Really sad considering how good they…
welcome to the world of jdramas, we're unjustifiably not as popular compared to kdramas and us international fans have to watch via legal platforms with the official subs provided OR most of the time, fully depend on fansubbers subbing them.

wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they're practically the backbone of eng subbed jdramas considering 90% of the shows/films i've watched are all fansubbed.

To be fair, fans of Alice in Borderland are also badmouthing Sweet Home and giving it an 1.0, so it is mutual.…
I don't go on the Sweet Home mdl page but sure that seems plausible. I just find it amusing that they would actually take time out of their day to badmouth and rate a popular jdrama that they *most likely* didn't watch.

not mentioning any names but I keep seeing kdrama fans coming in here badmouthing and rating this show 1.0 while they rate 'Sweet Home' 10 and then call it a day, lol.

Totally got nothing against jdramas, nope, not at all. Got nothing against jdramas, not at all whatsoever /s

I dont know what it is but whenever i watch japanese dramas it always feel a little off to me. I feel like if…
LOL no. I can already imagine the random unnecessary romantic Usagi x Arisu scenes and how they'll sugarcoat or lessen the dark aspects & brutality that's shown in the show

I love Kento don't get me wrong but I keep seeing this film in every "must-watch films/dramas guide for Yamazaki Kento fans". If you want to admire his looks or listen to him sing and dance, then definitely go for it~

But other than that, this is a hard pass. He's definitely a good actor but here, because of his stoic *character*, he really doesn't offer much at all and he's quite literally just eye-candy here. This really shouldn't be considered highly recommended if you want to see what Kento has to offer with his acting. While his hidden gems like Gekijou (Theatre: Love Story), Good Doctor and Rikuoh are the best ones that show off his acting chops yet they aren't often mentioned.

Woah! I didn’t know she was getting hate, what did she do? BREATHE? Lmao XD That’s usually how it goes ...
Basically,
1. Some don't like her for her wooden acting/being expressionless at times
2. Apparently Tomoe (the character she's playing) in the anime or manga is way older than Himura Kenshin in age BUT she doesn't look old AT ALL in the manga/anime, she looks young and of course, Kasumi Arimura looks young. Geez, if they look the part then that's all that matters, why are they so bothered by the actress's actual age? They can just say they dislike the actress and be done with it, go about their day.

But yeah like I said, can't we just appreciate the changes when it comes to an adaptation from the original source? Manga fans are always going after the anime if an anime failed to adapt an arc that was in the manga or misrepresent a character and then anime fans are always judgmental when the live action adaptation of said manga or anime is different... like can't we just appreciate the changes? It's a cycle that never stops. Most of the time an adaptation of a manga (or etc) changes things up, sometimes it can be interesting and new and at least it keeps the franchise fresh. Take a look at the 2015 Death Note drama for example. While they did change a lot of things, it was still one of the best adaptations for the Death Note series. Tomoe, despite what her age is, looks young and Kasumi looks young. If they adapted an older-looking actress, people would then complain because she doesn't look young despite looking young in the manga and anime. If they had Kasumi as Tomoe, people would complain she looks young and not fitting of the character's age despite the character looking young, what gives?

If they don't like the different takes, then they're free to not watch it, nobody's forcing them to like it. If people watch the anime or read the manga and they're so keen on comparing it to the movie, focusing on if they adapted every single detail perfectly from the source material, they'll absolutely enjoy it less and that's on them, they don't get to truly enjoy them and appreciate them as its own thing. This isn't targetted towards you ofc I just felt like ranting about it lol.

On Story of My Family!!! Feb 2, 2021
Binged the three episodes and they were good! Seems like that this will be a fun but also heartwarming slow but well-paced family drama, looks promising. While this is Tomoya Nagase's last drama as a Johnny's, I hope this isn't his last drama in general!
