Why are Japanese movies/dramas so cheesy? Not to mention the robotic acting. I thought this was an old movie,…
No, you just happened to watch a very forgettable & cheesy movie. Movies adapted from shoujo mangas should not be your go-to films if you're interested in checking out what japanese films/shows have got to offer. Check out Suda Masaki, Yamada Takayuki, Kubota Masataka, Oguri Shun etc
Agreed, the cast is amazing. I just wish Takasugi was played by somebody else. Sato Takeru would've been perfect.…
I genuinely think he'd be perfect. The whole time I was watching his drama Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo, his hair, his somewhat cold character and his low voice made me think he should've played as Takasugi instead. He could really nail it I think https://m.imgur.com/a/1zwXl1T
I don't know what everyone's talking about here, I thought the movie was fun and cute. Everyone needs to stop taking the movie seriously, not overthink stuff and sit back and enjoy because this movie clearly does not intend to make the plot complicated at all, the movie is self-aware what ruins a movie and hell, they even made fun of those moments just for the lols (they even intentionally made a cheesy "death" scene rofl) because they know those certain moments are so cliche and so overdone. And we all know these live actions adapted from mangas being set in a 2hr movie usually miss out on some scenes or characters but that's to be expected. It's a 2hr movie, not a drama and for what it is, it's enjoyable.
I've never watched the anime or read the manga but my brother does and he and I enjoyed watching it so, even this movie made me want to check out the anime. IMO the ending seemed satisfying for those who watch or read the anime/manga because I hear the anime/manga is still ongoing?
Enjoyable watch, really. It was fun, hilarious and cringey at times but it's like, it's cringey that it's cute. Fun watch!
If you just finished watching this, go check out Ouroboros. It's a completely different genre but has Oguri Shun & Ikuta Toma in a buddy-cop like drama and has Ueno Juri too.
I want to give it a try but seeing L immature like this nothing but an instant turn off for me. Matsuyama Kenichi…
Same but this was a different interpretation or take on L so I'm fine with it. Matsuyama Kenichi was perfect as L so Yamaken's L should be different honestly. Do watch it though, I think it's one of the best adaptations for the Death Note franchise. Hell, Kubota Mastaka's performance as Light is worth watching alone.
I have not checked that one out yet, to be honest. There are some good opinions on the net, so I'll definitely…
What did you think of it? I just finished watching it. Definitely highly recommended, even though the second one was a pain to sit through but still okay. First one being the best, third one being second best.
