It is sure that the beginning of the drama seems to tease a plot with her old suitor and finally it is resolved without ever having been explored and he gets together with the friend of the ML.
In fact, I feel like the core topic was quickly pushed aside to build a new, less interesting story.
The prejudices between the ML and the FL are resolved without clearly addressing their one-night stand. The FL being pursued by her ex-schoolmate lasts only a few episodes and leads nowhere.
On the other hand, we will spend ten scenes per episode on toxic secondary couples. It's quite confusing and boring.

I think the scene was cut because in the trailer we see their one-night stand with DXS taking the initiative. Which explains why the ML considers that she is quite experienced despite her young age, thinks that she is had an habit to trapping rich men and speaks of "keeping their past quiet". But apparently it was censored.

I'm on episode 26 and something is bothering me. In the trailer, released several years ago, we saw DXS take the initiative in a one-night stand with LYZ. Therefore, when in the first part of the drama LYZ says he has a prejudice about her, that he knows she is "experienced" despite her young age and that she has a short memory I always perceived it as: they spent the night together when he saved her and he thinks it was an ambush. That she purposely passed out in front of him to seduce a rich man. Reason why he is wary of her while having contradictory feelings (because he has already been seduced by her in the past and is still attracted to her).
However, for now, the drama never openly brings up what happened that night, other than the rescue. Has it been censored? Or will we have confirmation later? Even if it seems to me that it is too late for that, given where the story is.
I even thought Xiang Yuan was DXS ex-boyfriend who cheated on her, which is why she drank and was wandering in the rain. Then when she said he was chasing her, I thought he drugged or drunk her to abuse her. But this is never discussed. We don't know what she was doing drunk in the rain. We don't know why, in the first few episodes, she is so shocked and pissed off to cross paths with her former classmate.
It's quite confusing. It's to believe there are plots which have been cut.

We do not know exactly what it is but we can guess that because of his youth and his image, he must have a "no kiss" contract for now. In addition, Dilraba is 7 years older than him and, in China, couples where the woman is older are more difficult for the audience to deal with.
So certainly because of a contrate, Wu Lei's image, of his young age and to avoid any problem with the audience if an older woman kisses a very young man, we got parrots instead.

I almost gave up at one point because there were too many scenes and I had trouble fitting them into the 3min30 of the song (as I wanted to use an OST from the drama). But in the end, I am satisfied with the result. It concludes their story well and it makes me want to watch the drama even more from the start :D

He definitely failed as a father, as an uncle and as a leader.
But I appreciate that we understand a bit the reasons behind his attitude rather than seeing him remain a bully, mistreating his wife and distrusting his adopted son for no good reason.

Khatun betrayed him by murdering his brother for power. Having become suspicious and paranoid, he distances his nephew from the harmful influence of his mother and fears the bond between the 2 brothers. If Khatun could have committed such a crime, why wouldn't Ashile Sun do it? He also comes from the central plains and is not related by blood to the Khan.
Even though he was wrong, I appreciated understanding why, overnight, Khan had stopped being a loving father and made the brothers hate each other.

I am French so there is a nuance between informal and formal language in the French subtitles. In my opinion, they use a formal language until episode 15 (because until then, even if they were friends, there was a certain distance between them) but from the taking of the city, they speak in an informal language because, as you say, their relationship becomes aggressive and then friendly / relaxed.
But it seems that in Chinese the nuance is not as important as in my language.

I watch on Viki and they all translated their dialogue to "vous" which bothers me a lot.
Yes for "Sun" is because with google translation, it translates the first name Sun as if it were the word "sun" which in French means "soleil".
That's why if I watch on youtube, I watch with English subtitles. Because the French version on youtube is not a real translation but an automatic translation which creates a lot of nonsense and mistakes.

Indeed, the drama is so good that even if the translation is sometimes uneven, it's still great.

I'm French and the translation puts "vous" in each of their conversation while I had the impression that from their alcoholic night in episode 5, they were talking familiarly, so "tu". But at the same time the fact that he called her Shisi Lang disturbed me.

So in Mandarin, in the first 10 episodes, they use familiar language to address each other, right? They don't use formal language?
My language translated it into a formal language, that's why I was wondering.

Yes they were pretty relaxed around each other but they still had greetings and attitudes that seemed to indicate that, even though they were friends, there was some formality between them (like when she calls him "boss").
In my language, formal and familiar are very distinctive and the subtitles make them speak formally to each other throughout (16 episodes with subtitles for the moment). So I was wondering what it was like in the Chinese language.
