To be honest, I dropped both of them early.
It's not the story, its characters, I really had a hard time caring about them. They felt as if I have seen them in every other Xianxia.

L&D and ALP remain my top choices.
AOL is a tire below, may be because it was one of the earlier ones I watched and it felt awesome.
I loved Eternal Love on my first watch but on my second watch, it felt boring and could not remember why I liked it in first place.

I liked Dylan's portrayal in second part to the one in first.

Ever night 2 was better on re-watch.

Now a days I take a bit of time to start a Cdrama unlike Kdramas.
the sheer number of episodes and the time we need to invest in Cdramas is way too high.
Did not even start Galaxy, the story line was enough to tell how the characters will be and what their journey would be.
Did start Samsara and dropped it just like this one after few episodes, the main drama set up felt repetitive.

Huge fan of Dylan Wang. Watched him in Ever Night. Absolutely loved his character and how Dylan portrayed it in that drama. His whole presence screamed I love this girl and I will go to any lengths to protect her.
Even in this one, if not Dylan would have dropped it sooner.

You just described ML, FL and 2ML in most Xianxia dramas with minor variations. When was the last Xianxia drama where the ML is not a cold person?

I get that this set up trope sells in these dramas. The producers want their money back and they will definitely make what sells.

My opinion still stands though.

I understand the Cdrama makers will never change their tried and tested ML, FL and 2ML set up in these dramas ever. It looks to be what the majority audiences want and they seem to be giving them exactly that.
but still, that has nothing to do with anyone wanting to share their opinion on any drama in a forum.

It's not prejudice, it's my opinion after watching few episodes.

It is possible the story is exceptional.
My not continuing this drama has little to do with the story but finding the 3 main characters repetitive and boring.

No, not watching any drama when i can't invest in the main characters.
Agree on people having different tastes and interests. If you read my first post, you would find me saying that people who like this set up of main characters will love this drama.

It's the characters that are unimpressive.

Have moved on to another drama.

It was not boring though but the whole basic premise of the ML, FL and 2ML will definitely be dragged to the end , like any other Xianxia drama.
At that point, drama being boring or not is the issue.
It is pretty much not offering any different characters to the viewers.

The 3 central characters are pretty much the same ones we see in each and every Xianxia, barring no exception.

the FL
the 2ML who the FL is in love with/who loves the FL

That's it. Thats every Xianxia there.

Tried to get into this drama but could not get past first 10 episodes.

It is the same tale of almost every Cdrama in this genre of a girl and multiple men in love with her.
Immortal Samsara, has the similar basic set up and so does almost every Cdrama released in last year in Xianxia genre.

For those who like the harm set up, they will love this drama but this offers nothing new in terms of characters or the base set up.
It is pretty much same shit in different drama. The same characters....cold ML, kind and mysterious FL & the other guys who the FL loves or they love her.

Some one please wake me up when the writers and directors decide to make a drama with interesting characters rather than the same boring ML, FL, 2ML etc etc that we see in every drama.

2 brothers romancing the FL is pretty much Cdrama standard & it is getting prettty boring.

they should increase the brothers count to make it more juicy.
In fact to make it more edgy they should make the ML father and uncle also romancing the FL.

They should have added 1 or 2 more, two is a bit less. Could have thrown in an uncle or two as well to spice it up.

What's worse is that the parents in these shows seem to be encouraging their children to get drunk and sometimes even join them.

Does this reflect ground reality in Korea & China?
Do girls get drunk, faint on streets and rely on strangers to pick them up and drop them somewhere safe?

The show is pretty fun, easy going and good.
You can see how the plot will move for rest of the episodes & we can look forward to the journey, which promises to bring in a lot of fun.

Having said that, this is yet another Asian Drama that romanticizes female drinking to the point of them not knowing where they are, who they are with or what's happening to them.
Watching this just couple of days after Eliza Fletcher being kidnapped and murdered makes you feel disjointed. The young girls watching these dramas are ending up watching these females getting pissed drunk & good things happening to them. That's dangerous since that's not how the world works. Worse, these kinds of drunken scenes are exclusive to the FL who is shown doing stupid yet funny things while being drunk, the ML is rarely projected that way.

Really hope these film makers in some shows address the real dangers of excessive drinking, especially for women. The fun take is ok but having it shown as fun in every drama is sickening to watch.
