This drama is still very good. The main story ark is very intriguing. Ep11 does very little to the main story. It was a filler and hence the disappointment. And the filler is not very imaginative or entertaining either.
Not all with romance tag are bad. I have liked quite a few romances released this year and some even had love triangles. It needs to be done as part of the story and character consistency should not be lost. Neither of those are happening in this drama with the way romance is being shoved in.
Not sure about the writers but my experience with Cdrama romances has been a disappointment. The ML comes across as fake. Just by judging how the writers write ML, I suspect they have little idea about men and may not have any meaningful and genuine interactions with them. Not always the case but that's how it is in majority of dramas.
It is easy to notice this in these dramas. the drama has a lot of perspective of the FL. We get a lot of thoughts of FL being worded out. the ML's in these dramas never have a perspective. Their thoughts are never told to us. We only get a 3rd person telling us about the ML.

The problem is not 'this' romance in this 'this' drama. It's like I have seen the same romance in almost every Cdrama and Kdrama. There is nothing different going on. What's worse is that in dramas like these where the story is very good, this crap pretty much stalls and destroys the momentum. the worst part though is characters become inconsistent, especially ML, who seem to forget his goals and dreams.
Uk is not a simp. We watched too much perfect bland MLs. Uk is very refreshing and unique.
All these ML's are unique, then they fall in love and turn into idiots.

It's true that her vengeance was more important for her. Still, the drama confirms to the views in no ambiguous terms that the FL liked the 2ML for a long time. Otherwise, she would not have carried the wooden flute so long and even learn to play it.
On top of that there are number of interactions between FL and 2ML, which you don't see ML having with other girls.
All I am saying is that there is a love triangle, The end game seems to be ML and FL but right now the established feelings are between FL and 2ML. The FL does care for ML a lot and her feelings could change to him but there is no romantic interactions between them like the drama shows between FL and 2ML in the flashbacks.

They did have feelings for each other for long time.

in contrast, you don't see ML having similar interactions with other girls, like the FL is having with the 2ML.

Cdramas and some Kdramas have a very skewed take on ML's getting beaten or their suffering.
Reading many of the opinions here, though a microcosm, i suspect, reflects the opinions of the broader audience of these dramas - which is an appetite for these kinds of things being shown in the drama. the phase 'I want to him to suffer more' when referring to the ML is pretty common.

I can name 2-3 Cdramas currently running where the FL assaulted the ML & these dramas do not make the FL realize what she did was not right.
The examples you mentioned all bad & if the drama makes the viewers aware that these actions of the characters are bad, that's good enough in the context of a drama.
Imagine if the FL got slapped repeatedly by the ML & the drama then shows FL making loving eyes towards the ML and declaring her love for the ML no matter what... That's where the drama looses it & this is pretty much what is happening in current Cdramas and Kdramas but in reversal.
The underlying theme in these dramas seems to be, assaulting, slapping and abusing the ML by the FL is socially ok. The overtone window on this has shifted since these dramas never reflect on these assaults and show growth of characters.
