That's a common trope, not just in K-dramas. Toxic FL (or ML) and a nice counterpart who discovers the loveliness…
You are right! But I was worried because I saw some synopsis that said that Mun Young was basically a sociopath since she has antisocial personality disorder but I was relieved to see that is not the case at all. Her mother? Definitely. But not her.
I was wondering how they could have a happy ending with a APD character in the normal k drama sense (aka lovey dovey) and not more nuanced and overcomplicated since lovey dovey wouldnt work with a APD person very much. But since FL is not someone with APD it worked out I guess. I liked the drama very much in the end because there were reasons for the way people acted, realistic reasons that were well explained (like childhood trauma) and can actually worked on to "change" a person. Not just "love changed us all".
And I was weary of the male actor, I watched him in some historical drama and I didnt like his acting. I was also not liking it overmuch until he had a nervous breakdown in one episode, I thought his acting was great then. He's still not at the level of his co-star but it worked. π
I'm not sure what my beef with this series is, I think it's just bc it seems like the male lead has some weird version of Stockholm's syndrome, I mean the FL is nothing but awful to him? Am I missing something? Genuine question would like insights. π
unfortunately she partook in criminal activities with her DUI and was banned from broadcasting
That's why I said stupid, dangerous and potentially life-threatening. And I also pointed out that she did commit a crime. But I dont think it's very fair that her whole career ends because of this when the other guy who was accused of sexually assaulting minors and sleeping with minors is still out there getting leading roles and all. Those arent in the same league. To me, motive counts a lot towards deciding guilt. But that's just a personal opinion. I never denied she commited a crime

She's considered a criminal because she was caught in a DUI? Well, convict half the world then! I thought she was dealing drugs at least, with that connotation. "Criminal activities" may be a little too strong no? Stupid, dangerous and potentially life-threatening imho are best descriptions. I mean technically and factually she broke the law so she's a criminal, but there is criminal and Criminal. Anyways, what does that have to do with her being listed as main here on MDL when she clearly was very important to the plot for way more than half the episodes? π
What's with me and popular dramas? In case it's just drama overload I'm putting it on hold, but they really went all out on the melodrama part, didn't they? Plus I don't get the ML's attraction to the FL. Sorry, I don't... I just, what?
Ok to be honest the age gap is not my problem, my problem is that she acts as if she's 13. I definitely wasnt that childish at 19 what is wrong with the script writer in this?

I skipped almost half of it and didnt lose the plot. I feel slightly guilty marking it as completed but I feel like I watched it all just without the padding that is in episodes 12-19. This is just so-so and what is the point of A Ro?

I mean, it's not a novel idea (see: The Postman with Kevin Costner or Aeon Flux) but I liked it a lot. Part of it may have been all the main leads who absolutely slayed it, especially Woo Bin. But the story was pretty dope too!
Koreans need to take notes from this drama regarding love scenes, especially the more 'graphic' ones. There is no point wanting to make it grown up love but also keeping it like PG. This one had very classy and beautiful romance scenes. Sex in K-dramas is treated so weirdly. And J-dramas are even worse... on the other end there's western series sex which would make any Korean actor faint so let's not go there (it wouldnt fit the K-drama mood anyways)

And it's not her age, really.
