I really enjoyed this drama. The acting of the entire cast is great and the story is well written too. The friendship of the main leads (played by Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won) is so much fun to watch because it seems so real. All four of the friends portray a very believable friendship, but between the main two it's especially good. The situations the friends are found in, whether it's their bar on the roof, or their walks to work in the morning, all feel like absolutely normal parts of their lives and it was nice to see friendships that were easy to relate to and even identify with a bit.

One other nice thing about this drama is that there are several side stories that draw your attention as well, instead of being totally focused on just the main two characters. You come to care about the side characters and there is even a small mystery that is intriguing to try to figure out.

I give this show two thumbs up for sure.

Ok, so let me start out by saying that I know I'm in the minority when it comes to this show. However, it's just not one that I liked a whole lot. I usually like the gender bender type shows, but this one was really difficult for me. Why? (This might be a slight spoiler, but I don't think so, so I'm including it because it's the core of my review.) Because the lead guy didn't figure out that the lead girl was a girl for WAY too long. I know a lot of people like the angst he goes through trying to figure out his feelings, but for me it was just annoying. I just wanted to shout, "She's a girl! Somebody tell him and let's move on!"

Other shows, such as "To the Beautiful You" and "You're Beautiful," have a similar plot line, but in both instances, the gender of the girl trying to pretend to be a guy is revealed to the male lead fairly early on, so the struggle you see is more about whether they like the girl...period. There are side characters in those shows that struggle with feelings for who they think is a "guy", but not the main leads. The opposite is true here. I get easily bothered by plot twists that seem to do nothing, but just extend the show length because whatever the issue is can be dealt with with a simple conversation...but they don't have that conversation for several episodes. And that is what this felt like in "Coffee Prince".

The acting is good and the music is good. I have nothing to dispute on those accounts. It's just that plot piece that really truly turned me off in the show. So, if similar types of things bother you, I wouldn't recommend this series, but if you don't mind it, then you will probably really enjoy it.

I liked this show, though it does take a few episodes to really get into it, so be aware of that. I found myself "fast forwarding" a bit until that happened. The other characters around the leads are good, but they are not as interesting as the main 4 characters. Once the main leads start hanging out together it's a lot more fun to watch. They work so well together and I love how the female lead is literally setting up everyone around her. It's a hoot to see how she pairs people up. I also appreciated how it this series shows the ups and downs of a relationship and (most of time) the mature way to deal with those ups and downs.

If you want a fun story, good acting and just a pleasant drama, this might be a good one for you to choose.

As I mentioned when I reviewed "7 First Kisses", If you are going to enjoy this series, you have to take it for what it is. It is a very long commercial for LOTTE Duty Free and it is meant to be FLUFF. Don't expect high drama here as it is not supposed to be that.

I knew that this was a long commercial when I started watching, so I enjoyed the series a lot. I was very excited because Super Junior's Lee Teuk is in this series because I had seen him in lots of variety shows, but not in any dramas, so was looking forward to seeing him in this short series. He does well in it...as do all the actors and actresses in the show. It's not really a series where anyone outside the female lead is going to stand out too much because except for her, many of the other characters are only in about one episode.

The only small complaint I had about this show, was that it seemed like the writers were not quite sure what the main goal was. I say that because I wasn't sure what they were trying to say even as I watched it. I guess the "takeaway" is supposed to be that if you work hard enough, have confidence in yourself, and use the right products that anyone can be beautiful. However, it's a message that is a bit muddied at times. It's not really a "Cinderella" type story, but it's also not a "pick yourself up by your own bootstraps" type story. Whatever the story is though, it's a fun way to spend an hour or so.

So, if you are looking for a fluffy short series that is easy to watch and light on emotional traumas, then this might be just the show for you. Enjoy!

Ok, so in order to enjoy this show, you need to be aware that it is basically just one very long commercial for a mall. It's not meant to be a deep drama. It's fluff. It's supposed to be fluff. So don't expect anything else.

That being said, it's fun to watch. The episodes are very short and the actors/actresses do a good job throughout the series. The story line is minimal, but cute and you do find yourself rooting (I guess that's the right word?) for the female lead. Though...you may not be sure what you are rooting for. Is it for her to end up with one of the guys? Is it for her to get her first kiss? Whatever it is, you can't help but want her to have a happy ending.

So, if you are in the mood for something kind of silly and fun that has short episodes and won't drain you emotionally...this is a great series for that. Enjoy!

I loved this show so much. I think I've watched it more or less 3 times now. The acting was fantastic and the chemistry between all of the characters (not just the main 4, but all of them) was so much fun to watch. I'm a fan of the old tv show MASH, which took place in a similar type situation. In that show, as well as this one, you came to care about all the people on the base. Not just the main characters. That's the way it was here too. While I loved the story lines/love lines between the four main leads, I also wanted to know about the stories of all the other nurses and doctors as well as the other military personnel. At times, if felt almost like you were watching a family drama because of the way the characters interact and care about each other. Plus there is SO MUCH ACTION in this show. Whether you are a fan of fist fights, chase scenes, battles, rescue operations, or disasters, this series has all of that and more. And I can't forget the humor that is throughout the series. I love dry humor and there is a lot of it here. To me, this is a great series with which to introduce others to K-drama. It has a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy.

I really like this drama. The plot is unusual, and that makes the story interesting. The female, Yang Jin Sung lead does and amazing job carrying two very different roles. Lee Hong Ki does a great job too in the male lead role. It's quite a different type of character from some of the other roles he has played in other shows (Modern Farmer, You're Beautiful), so to me, that shows his acting ability as well. The romance is fun to watch as it unfolds and it's nice to see this female lead character showing some moxie from time to time. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, though a bit unusual, love story.

My biggest pet peeve in KVariety is when a game is played for food and someone or some team doesn't get any. This is the total opposite of that. In this show, the Idols come on and are treated to a feast and are allowed to show off their charms and promote their newest song. Not only do you get to watch them truly enjoy a hearty meal, but you get to see how that meal was prepared as well. In fact, it's just lovely to watch them being pampered a bit. It's a really fun show and I highly recommend it. I've not finished it yet because more episodes have apparently been added and it's still airing. I have seen the first 6 and am waiting for subs for the 7th.

There is a mukbang music video for each episode as well and I haven't watched those, but I've enjoyed all the main episodes so much!

This review may contain spoilers
First off, let me just say that this show does have a lot of the silly trope things that you often see in #TDrama. There are some silly parts, crazy daydreams, a character that is VERY over the top at times, and a meddling (though good hearted Mother).

However, the plot of this show is a bit different than I expected. It started out pretty much like I thought it would, but it took some turns that I wasn't expecting.

First this show deals with the reality of the pain the abortion causes...not just to woman, but also for the man. And it lasts far longer than anyone might expect affecting lives for years to come. I was highly impressed that they didn't gloss over any of that. It's painful...it's a death...and should not ever be treated lightly. I was extremely glad that where many shows (especially in the US) treat it as no big deal, this one chose to deal with the pain it causes. I feel that part of the story might be the most important thing this show does. Some might feel that it was too much, but I feel like they were pretty accurate in the way it was portrayed.

I also liked the found family aspect of the show. I enjoy when friendships are well portrayed and where you get to watch them grow. They are not perfect, but they are an interesting part of the story.

I thought the noble idiocy was a bit much in this series. It doesn't last a long time, but it's a bit difficult to fully grasp in parts. They two people seem to want to work together through issues so the fact that there is a time where they don't is hard to understand. There is a happy ending though...just wait for it.

I loved this series. I loved how the characters grow in their relationships much in the way real relationships work. I especially love how we watch them work through issues that come up instead of running away from them as happens in many dramas. Whether it is the friendships or the romances shown in the series, I liked how they were very normal and believable. Are there cringe worthy things in the series. Yes. One character in particular was exceedingly cringy, but I was able to get past that character and still enjoy the drama. I also liked how many of the characters grew and changed...not just the leads.

This has turned out to be one of my favorite dramas I have ever seen...and now that I've seen well over 100 dramas, that's saying something.

I have now seen around 170 dramas and this one, without exception, had the craziest plot twists of any I have ever seen. Just when you think you know where it's going...NOPE! Then, when you think you've figured out the new direction...NOPE! It's definitely a ride and a half. And in a way, that was something I didn't like all the time. Sometimes it was just a bit too much.

However, the actors/actresses all do an amazing job and the music is spot on perfect for it. I'm not sure it's one I would want to sit down and watch the whole thing of again, but there are probably episodes here and there that I might watch again.

My first Asian Drama of any sort was "Boys Over Flowers" and I love that drama. So I was a little hesitant to watch this one. Partially because I wasn't familiar with much of the cast and partially because BOF is a ride like no other and I wasn't sure if this version would be able to live up to my expectations.

What I found was that this drama told the story as well (and in places better) than BOF and gave us more information on the story lines that are sort of left out or very limited in BOF. I loved that. I also liked how this series was able to tell the same story but somehow it didn't feel like the totally unreal lifestyles/situations that are often presented in Boys Over Flowers. Again, I am a huge BOF fan, but if you've seen it, I think you will understand what I mean by that.

All the actors in Meteor Garden did a great job. They are fun to watch and work well together. The music is really good too. It was surprising to me just how many English songs are in the soundtrack, but they fit so well, I totally understood their use.

I really enjoyed this drama. I recommend it.

This is a cute show. It's not a heavy show. It's not a terribly dramatic show. It's cute. It's fun. It's fluff. If you go into it with that in mind, I think you will really enjoy it.

The female lead character is a bit annoying at times, but once the two leads start to actually talk to each other, they are just fun to watch. Personally, I thought Park Chan Yeol did a great job in the male lead role. He's a bit stiff at times, but the character is supposed to be that way, so it fit. Besides Mabel Yuan's character as the female lead is a bit of a "bounce off the walls" type character, so they sort of balance each other out.

The music in this show really didn't phase me one way or another, so in my book that means it fit well, but it didn't have a song that stuck in my head or really moved me.

If you are looking for an easy watch that is just fun and refreshing...this might indeed be just the right choice.

I should admit that I am a sucker for a good documentary and that is exactly what this is. It's a short documentary that talks with both the K-Pop group MONSTA X and the American R&B singer Gallant. To be honest I knew nothing about Gallant before I watched this show and very little about MONSTA X, so this was a good way to be introduced to both .

This show is short (less than 30 minutes long) so it's an easy watch and it's full of all sorts of interesting interviews. I really enjoyed it. However the coolest thing was right at the end when MONSTA X and Gallant sang together. I expected Gallant to sing English lyrics, but he didn't...he sang in full on Korean and did it well. I was super impressed! Too often, we here in the USA, seem to expect others to do things "our way" and it was so neat to see this American R&B artist join in the "Korean way" and to do it well. Korean is a tough language to learn (I've been working on it for two years) and singing in it is super challenging when you don't do it all the time, so I found that part of the documentary extremely impressive.

I highly recommend this show!
