Oh yes - your take on Sky makes sense! His desperation to find a miracle pretty much pushed him over the edgešŸ™ˆ

Shame they couldn’t do a better job specially given most of the cast was pretty good.

Sky was already obsessive...imagine if he was immortal too? He's a bit of a wildcard. He has good qualities but he can be dangerous.

i can’t tell if i’m missing something, did paradon make his party members rig the election..?
Yes. He had already influenced the voting with his "superman" behaviour so P didn't have a reason to rig the election. His friends' actions screwed him completely.

Corruption (even those disguised as righteous deeds) cannot be hidden? Birds of a feather flock together (the guy's corrupt friends were just like him eventhough he wasn't involved in the rigging attempt).

With Sky- Idolizing people/ sesseng behaviour will lead to your downfall someday? The guy could have lived a better life after ep 1 but chose not to šŸ˜…

Terrible execution though. They keep trying to go for shock value scenes but they don't hold the same depth as the original seriesšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

The nobles do look down on the business crowd, but if you are an elite business, regardless of their personal opinions, the nobles will have to entertain the business crowd.

Media is a key example. Control the media, you can do almost anything. With Castle Group, I haven't really focussed on them beyond Hui Ju's brand but I'm guessing they must be involved in an important industry enough to ruffle the queen mother's feathers.

Like her father said, if she had not stirred any trouble, things could have naturally crumbled between Huiju and I-An given how rigid royalty is (the lord doesn't know what we know).

TBF it all stemmed after she argued with her family. She definitely didn't think it through.

It's essentially "I saw it- I want it" logic šŸ˜…

It's interesting though since South Korea (at least from the little I know) treat divorcees (specially if the woman is the taking the blame) quite badly. Is it really worth it?

The character description for Grand Prince Yi An implies that he may indeed die. Notice in the Biographical Information…
It's probably because part of the buzz behind the drama is that the King of death (BWS) and Queen of death (IU) are the leads. Fans can't help speculate so the PR team is taking advantage of it.

Just binged the first 4 episodes and they were really fun!! I wonder what the history is between the Grand Prince…
The queen needs to control the grand prince. Even if Hui Ju was a noble, she would never accept her because Huiju isn't maleable. She is too free spirited to bow down to the queen's nefarious plans. Hui Ju doesn't know the subtle art of manipulation like her SIL (who probably was trained as a noble). Her bluntness could never win the queen easily.

Aside from that, Castle Group can give the Crown Prince more leverage in royal affairs which is something the queen definitely doesn't want.

No, I think for a short while Taeju and his mum separated from the father (at least unofficially)? The fact that…
I find the family dynamic quite interesting. I like the fact that Taeju is considered as "foolish" but he treats his wife well (enough to make her leave her noble family) and still remains constant after so many years. The father is reprehensible. It's understandable to see him drowning in self pity when HJ and Taeju were kids but to actively find ways to sideline HJ even when she has proved herself to be an asset is questionableas both as a father and a CEO. He feels nothing compared to some kdrama fathers who are in his position.

I loved how they gave both the father and HJ's POVs of their moments together. The father only remembers her reaction but not what pushed her🄲

I might be a minority here but I love Taeju and his wife. The way Taeju cares for her, her leaving her noble status…
That's so true. It really does feel like normal kdrama chaebol sibling rivalry. Not truly mean spirited.

A bit confused seeing the flashback in episode 3.Did Taeju's mom die at the time when little Hui-ju showed up…
No, I think for a short while Taeju and his mum separated from the father (at least unofficially)? The fact that his birthday present was in the father's home office and the father was drowning in self pity instead of showing even remote excitement made me feel this way.

Additionally if HJ's presence indirectly killed his mother, Taeju would be more villainous than insolent.

I hope the SML doesn't stay the second fiddle. Steve Noh is too good to just play that. I hope for him to get…
I feel like he'll play a bigger role than just the self sacrificing heartbroken 2nd lead. As a popular prime minister, he has enough power to protect both the Hui Ju and I An from any real danger thrown at them by the monarcy- assuming their constitution is similar to the real orld. He is technically one of the most powerful chess pieces in the drama.

Personally I hope they keep their love triangle honourable like in AOS, with the crown prince.

The problem is that the market is now saturated. The writers (and production team) need to evolve before it's too late.

I used to love webtoons but now it's so easy to predict what will happen once you read the first 10 chapters.

have a question and I may be way off base, but were the Grand Prince and the king's mother an item at some point?…
I recall when they released the character descriptions a month or so ahead of the drama release, there were quite a lot of X posts mentionning how the queen used to have a crush on him.

Exactly! It will be interesting to see how things pan out. They have a golden chance right now since we don't really this kind of plot much as far as I know.

I'm not sure if they will abolish the monarchy completely BUT they might add reforms- afterall even the introduction implued that the royal family no longer holds the same level of authority as they had back during Josen times.

The Queen Mother needa to open her eyes before it's too late. We know she loves her son but she barely showed it so far (except during the fire and likely we will see in ep 5 once she finds out about the car accident). She needs to fix her relationship with her son before she "fixes" the crown using archaic methods.

Do you know how did Goong end? I recall they changed the rules thsir too but can't really remember what exactly was done.

It highlights the hypocrisy behind the crown. They refuse to change with the times so this will be what will cause their downfall.

Even right now, the only royal who is popular is I An and it’s mostly because they see him like akpop idol. The queen’s fears in a way are justifiable but because she is stuck in her outdated ways (like her father said), her plots keep backfiring on her.

The quill cuts deeper than the sword. Assuming the puppet suiter’s father’s news network is the one controlling the general media, cutting their ties with the queen can only make things easier for Ian. Hopefully they will wrap up the story within one episode šŸ¤ž
