True! I feel like his mum's main issue is that she is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
The father is terrible so she has to overcompensate with Luke depending on the issue at hand just so he doesn't feel ganged up all the time? But at the same time, she can't always choose Luke and annoy the father so she may have to support the father during less "rediculous" arguements?
This could in turn alienate Luke in a different way? He knows his mother loves him and will support him most of the time but he doesn't know what's the line he shouldn't cross with her π
Knowing what Flora needs and wants in her life....i personally feel that the opportunity that Alex is giving her…
Honestly it's like what Luke's friend said. It's Tao's right to choose even if it is risky- even if it could backfire on her in the longrun.
Luke is offering stability but right now it doesn't feel like an "offer" but rather an ultimatum because of the way he phrased his fears.
Alex probably shouldn't be trusted but that's Tao's right to decide. π All he can do is let her know of the options (without chewing her head off in the process).
LN has a deep-seated business betrayal experience in the past, and is protecting SZT from experiencing the same…
How is wanting to advance in one's career without using your hot secret Boss/boyfriend's influence a bad thing?
She doesn't have the experience to see the big picture/ potential exploitation that Luke fears which is why Luke could have been more clear with what exactly he was so worried about.
Questioning if she has a brain repeatedly is not the way to do it.
Nope the drama is not like FSG except for the power imbalance dynamic since she is a fresh college graduate and…
Personally I'm enjoying the drama. If it's the corporate side that feels boring, the screentime eventually decreases once we have a good idea where Luke and Tao stands in the company. π
Binge watching it is easier though ngl π
The main problem they currently have is that Luke has no filter and says the exact opposit of what he wants to convey. Tao then misunderstands him (understandable why most of the time), causing even more drama
I'm just looking forward to their breakup arc to see all the angst since the promo clips look promisingπ
Hmm... saw this drama being viral... ala Fifty Shades of Grey?.... like... maybe im too old to remember FSG but…
Nope the drama is not like FSG except for the power imbalance dynamic since she is a fresh college graduate and he's a Team leader/ director (can't recall the exact title) when they first met.
They have their own issues but nothing quite like FSG. The ML can be cutting and cruel but he isn't as bad as Grey.
The drama does have more sensual scenes than your usual cdrama given their secret relationship but it's a mainstream cdrama so there is nothing too spicy. The first 5 mins of ep 1 should give you an idea.π€ͺ
Flowers- based on the comments, they should ideally be from Yuan Zhu if they are following the novel. Kind of…
Alex is definitely sly but given how pathetic Tao felt at the time, it might have helped her even a bit on a subconscious level (i.e. why Lumi mentioned it as well)? I felt so bad for Tao when she kept asking Lumi if she was worth it/ how she was genuinely excited after Alex mentioned her contributions. Luke's words must have felt like she was being stabbed π₯²
Yesss! I really loved how she blocked him. She was done with his nonsense and it was his turn to grovel. Specially considering the fact that he is still her superior, it was quite a ballsy move for her πππ
The main problem with Luke is he is too blunt for his own good but doesn't consider his audience at all.π I agree that his concern was valid but asking if she has a brain repeatedly wasn't the way π€¦ββοΈ
Long as hell comment because I didn't realize I had so much to get off my chest after binge watching the first…
Flowers- based on the comments, they should ideally be from Yuan Zhu if they are following the novel. Kind of makes sense since he had this "look" when Tao kept asking for flowers from Sun Yu. It would also make sense why he wouldn't admit in the group chat since it could get awkward? π
Totally agree with your narrative btw! I like how Tao sounds quite realistic for her age. The fact that they are slowly showing her growth as well once her professional life's confidence is boosted by Lumi and Alex (regardless of his intentions) also is a nice touch. She didn't let Luke's harsh words drown her in ep 13 unlike the previous times π₯²
We have another victim!!! The cracked name plate π€ͺ

He meant well but his phrasing ruined it.
(Not being feminist- it really is about tact)
I wasn't aware of the Ad's backstory until I saw your explanation- this is even more perfect than I thought

She literally has a front row seat to see how their relationship has prpgressed over the yearsπ
NGL though as annoying as this trope is usually, it works on for Jing Bo Ran somehow. He is hateful and irresistable at the same time.π€£

Then again, if you aren't in the mood for misunderstandings, probably not the best drama to break your hiatusπ

Most of the nice things he has done behind her back were only revealed by Lumi. If she didn't like Tao, then Tao would have known even less.
Caring for her is really sweet of him but she also did care for him when he was drunkπ
We know there will be consequences before their redemption arc
