As a SEA, can you please help understand how that remark is viewed as racism?
It's just that in East Asian countries like China or even South Korea, SOME individuals can be racist to SEAsians and SAsians over colourism, a difference in beauty standards, and other factors.
In this case, it's mostly a case of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" IMO. The sketch in question is quite rough since it was obviously for a game. Those who think it's ugly assumed that ZLH compared it to being a SEA was because *they think* that he thinks it's ugly.
The sketch itself really isn't ugly or even degrading. Nothing worth higlighting- a fun amateur sketch that looks nothing like him.
At most, his comment was tasteless even if unintended- not worth burning down his career though seeing as he took responsibility as well for his comment.
Came here with joy to wait for the eps with yall, but had to read (and block people) that ZLH is racist.I doubt…
Honestly I low key feel bad for the artist player. Imagine getting global hate because people think your sketch is so ugly that it's considered racist?🙈
wait why are people saying zhang linghe is a racist and a sexist what did he do?
It's over a comment he made during a game show. Basically another participant drew a portrait of him for a game and he jokingly said that he looks like a South East Asian in it.
It depends on how the viewers look at it. Some found it offensive since they thought he meant it looks ugly due to past actions by East Asians in general.
Personally as a fellow SE Asian, even I've seen SEA originated artist facial doodles that kind of look like the art in question (big eyes and rounder lips) so it low key kind of makes sense why ZLH said that comment without thinking (since his features are completely different) The art itself isn't ugly- just that the artist is an amateur.
He anyway apologized. What he said was tacky but not worth mass bombing ratings/ demanding the masses to boycott him.
It’s a slow burn but is really realistic. You can’t really be that annoyed with Wataru for taking his sweet time to realize the truth..isn’t it human to overanalyze every tiny detail when it comes to complex relationships where the stakes are high?
I was wondering why Lord Qi and his “stare” felt so familiar - turns out he’s Zhuge Kong Yun from “The Wanted Detective” - only with yet another flamboyant look.
He’s insane and way to possessive. My question is if he is the father of Yu Qian’s son? But wouldn’t she…
Ohhhh this makes more sense. I was wondering why the writer would try to ship these 2 given how traumatized Yu seems- the audience would have hated Qi if he did force her all those years ago. His obsession/ “need to verify” makes sense too. It’s something beyond either of their control🥲
Curious to see how their story will unfold…hopefully not tragic 🙈 (I’m trying to figure out who the sacrificial secondary couple will be since writers can be bloody thirsty🥲)
I wonder if he knows the truth (I'm guessing he's the dad)?🤔 Everything about Qi Min screams "wattpad coded…
I haven't watched today's episodes yet but based on how freaked out she was and how offended he looked, he has to be the father. Seems like she ranaway. Given how his hair is grey eventhough he is clearly around the same age as the main and main support male cast, he probably was poisoned/ something happened to him 🙈
I’m not gonna give in and watch this. I’m gonna wait till it’s done airing!!! I am manifesting my Patience…
Endure it- stay strong!!! I thought I could cheat by watching the additional episodes on 🏴☠️ since Netflix is usually behind schedule. Unfortunately this time the air schedule seems to be identical🙈
WOAHH. that punching scene was just fireeeeeee! omg. and then that tear?? omg! I love how they made him sort of…
I felt so bad for the third wheel lord or whatever he is 🙈 You know he'd rather face some assassins than try to figure out why they were being so strange infront of him🙈

He really has such an illustrious career- from being a private agent to almkst turning into the Fan's dinner to finally settling in as the family's darling🤭🤭🤭
So Xie Zheng sending gyrfalcon to capital just to find out Gongsun saying he is heartbroken rn🥹😂😂
The fact that they are essentially co-parenting the gyrfalcon🤭
It's refreshing considering usually messenger birds don't get so much affection from the main characters (excluding certain villains and their falcons).

Probably a breach in contract then (I hope). 🙈

Everything about Qi Min screams "wattpad coded misunderstood but morally gray". He will burn the empire for her 🙈🙈🙈
