If it follows standard corporate/ modern c-romances, ideally the FL will be integral to save the ML/ the MC will have some kind of partnership.

I've noticed with the recent Cdramas, they seem to promote more independant FLs. They are their own knights in shining armour/ ML is just there to support them.

I could be wrong though.

It was also Lumi who unintentionally confused Tao about the reality behind his "childhood sweetheart"🥲

Then again Lumi did give Luke a chance to splurge on Tao in public without looking suspicious during the trip so he'll probably let it pass....for now🙈

Is Tao just as forgiving in the novel?

I'm guessing they make up after Luke attacks the guy who tried to make a pass at her but not sure. They've cut scenes so they probably initially had more time to cool things off but it's not very obvious here.

That's true. I'm actually glad that Luke and Lumi make it a point to remind her she shouldn't at first. It's understandable why she goes beyond what's needed given the work culture in most Asian countries and it's her first job but she needs to draw a line.

TBF in such a relationship you need to draw the line between work and romance. Specially since she is from a different team.

She also needs time to process Alex's request specially since she knows how explosive Luke can be. Him getting mad during the second attempt is kind of understandable (should have handled it better though) but the first time at the resort was uncalled for.

Oooh there's so much more. The initial monologue feom ep 1 shows that after 6 years being together, they broke up.

We are still in their 2nd year together 🙈

Alex is definitely not nice. He's pretty typical. He could have been a headache later on if this was any other drama (at least at this point).

That's why it's ironic that unlike with usual corporate villain tropes that cause problems to the MC, Alex doesn't really have to do anything special. Luke sabotages things on his own. Trying to poach an employee by praising their qualities is nothing new but it was Luke's harsh words which shook her resolve.

Except for the supplier database debacle, did he assign any mineal tasks? Sorry I can't recall now so wanted to confirm. The sports event was Tao's initiative but I don't recall any other events.

I was mostly referring to the fact that Alex at least noticed her hard work during the last 2 years and used this instead of just flattering her ego with vague statements to entice her into joining his team. This suggests he truly appreciates her efforts enough to remember (even if it is to benefit him/ annoy Luke).

If he wanted somebody subservient, Tao actually isn't a good option since she is known for working ethically.

The fact that nothing surprises his friend tells a lot about how long he’s been playing therapist. Luke needs to pay him 😅

I just love how Alex’s villain arc is just him appreciating Tao for her skills as opposed to the usual caricature corporate villain arcs we get with this genre 😂

I’m looking forward to Tao’s scenes. She’s slowly taking over the reigns of their relationship and now it’s Luke who can’t keep up with her🙃

Oh yeah thaat explains it too! They are close but it feels abit formal atntimes. Kind of courteous compared to the warm chaotic love you can see with Tao's side.

Seriously! He needs to at least make it more clear with his expressions that he doesn’t mean what he says. It’s almost sad to watch how he’s enjoying his flippant comments/ even the flick, only for it to always backfire on him. It’s almost childlike 🙈

I think he is a red flag depending on the person? Somebody who thrives on sarcasm and ultra high expectations would probably find him a hoot but for the majority, this kind of behaviour can be mentally taxing eventually.

For someone as inexperienced as Tao, it’s even worse but you can see she is slowly learning how to read him. For instance she figured out he was joking about the amenities instead of taking him seriously in her own earnest way. Previously she would have taken him seriously 🙈

Label scene - He was just being sarcastic. The fool is unable to ever speak his mind so rather than admitting he prepared everything for her (the prescription lenses was the clue), he’d say something so asinine.

But you are kind of right, he is a red-ish flag so his butt is going to get dumped sooo hard soon. Even he pretty much admits that he can be cruel 🙈
