The bonus chapters available on MDL agree with you 🤣

Why would ANYBODY hate Gyuri over this regardless of the network/ writer's intension? 🤦‍♀️

I’m wondering 🤔 looks like they missed the genre tag plus I’m sure the last episode won’t disappoint
Guess there's more to the contravery if this comment is true (i didn't fact check).

In a global sense, it does make more sense why they would go down that route as a marketing tactic/ raise awareness (assuming the comment is true) but still would have been better if they didn't bring it up at all though (intentionally or unintenionally)

What was the deal made between Chairman Paik and Hong?
If Chairman Hong drops his case (the accident), the Hongs will get a free pass to get anything they want from the Baeks- no exceptions.

That's the reason why SE's parents had to agree with switching the brides eventhough the suggestion sounded rediculous to them.

The only reason why Ch. Hong accepted it was because ruining Ch. Baek will lead to Ch. Hong's bankruptcy, futher ruining his own vulnerable family.

does anyone know why the real Saeon called Heejoo Unnie?
Unniya has a nice ominous ring to it i guess depending on the context?

So we figured out what the whispering was about… and it was indeed disappointing. The punishment he decided…
His disappearance is in character with the ML though. His "cold, calculating, and rational" demeanor was always a façade. He was already heart broken to find out that marrying HJ, put her into a new prison. Even if it's not his fault at all, he's bound to feel guilty specially since the Hongs never got justice for the son's death, In Ah's disability, and Heeju's hellish life.

In his pov, if the switch and accident never happened, Heeju's life with the Hongs would have been so much better/ her mum wouldn't have forced HJ to get the chairman's sympathy since she already gave him a son. His decision was poor and the plot could have handled his disappearance better, but it's not really that surprising either.

Exactly- totally agree with what you said.

It's a few seconds so crucifying the entire drama over it isn't really worth it. But hopefully everybody involved (both the drama's team and viewers) handle it professionally since it is a sensitive topic.

MDL and serious topics are 2 passing trains honestly

It's disappointing to see how the issue is being handled but I guess knowing how toxic MDL can be, I'm surprised it's not worse.

If you find it distressing, I would suggest skipping between 01:01:18 - 01:01:27 to avoid the names in question or skip to 01:02:00 if you want to avoid the whole scene.🙈

Edit: just saw there was another reply!

Boy did MDL change within a few hours.

TBF one drama (specially barely 15 seconds) isn't going to cause world peace or make the IRL situation worse.

If the scene truly caused distress, there are way better ways to deal with this than resorting to name calling/ smiting everybody to hell🤷‍♀️

Violance against violance never helped anybody. It's a serious conversation that should be handled respectfully.

SE is too traumtised to think rationally- specially where HeeJu is concerned 🙈
You do have a point and even in the novel, there was this scene that supports your comment that I wish they included.

Basically in the novel SE fakes his death before disappearing (heeju doesn't know that he faked it) but shortly before these events, SE gives a criptic farewell speech to Heeju that basically tells her to move forward with her life even if he is no longer there but not to think of him eventually (my paraphasing is poor btw- it was written nicely but i can't find it atm).

I guess they wanted to replace this scene with the "I'll find you" quote we got in the drama because in the novel, SE's life first starts to unravel because the kidnapper released several 18+ voice recordings he had captured between SE and 406 making it look like SE was a cheating, fowl mouthed ass who should not be representing the country. Since this wasn't an option they can use in the drama, guess they had to deviate from it completely.

(Sorry for the long rant!)

TMAI- i just woke up a short while ago and MDL is on fire.

Honestly i didn't even notice the Izmael and Paletino reference much since I was busy focussing on Heeju's reactions.

Idk though....is it from the novel? Not really sure since I only recall them mentioning Argan (then again i skipped alot of sections to avoid spoilers so who knows what i missed).

Dropping the whole drama over this is abit of an exaggeration IMO unless you truly feel uncomfortable. I mean some comments didn't even sound like they knew what they were talking about but were just there to stir the pot?

It is a bold choice though if that was truly the writer's intension. Could have used less noticable names. I guess at worst Netflix/ MBC might delete that scene like what they did with KTL if the number of conplaints become too high🫠

At the end of the day, it's just a drama and as we saw in MDL nobody really pointed it out during the first 4-5 hours after the episode aired.🤷‍♀️

Did it ruin my viewing experience? Not really since the "propoganda" flew over my head and even if I noticed it, to me this is fiction. Will it affect others? It depends since we do have serious viewers too.

What do you think about all this?

Three things that pissed me off in episode 12:- did the writer really have to pull out the cliche African continent…
PSE was an international war correspondent while he was working at HBC years ago and he's been negotiating with Argan even during his time at BH so it's not really a new situation for him.

They could have toned down on the Rambo style though or add make it more obvious that there are more trained soldiers like in the novel instead of making it look like a solo mission.

from my understanding because of some comments, him leaving and the war thing was in the novel. but like could…
They could have removed it or better yet explained SE's involvement better like in the novel. Think if they had a few more minutes or one more episode, that bit could have been managed better?

But I wouldn't crucify the scene completely 😅
SE leaving Korea due to self loathing is very him- people tend to forget how volatile he gets where Heeju is concerned🙈

Yu Ri and Sang U's relationship went from 0-100 real quick. Could have add some scenes about it. Also, papa Baek's…
Papa Baek is a politician- bro probably hoped his crocodile tears can help him win the election still since technically his only fault in the original case is being ignorant and keeping quiet but fortunately 97% saw through him.

(We've had similar candidates like him from where I come from so honestly his character is so realistic).

Yu Ri and San Woo's relationship was quite fast but i guess there have been marriages after dating 6-9 months i guess (though personally it would have been better to announce something else i guess).
