Honestly at this point, best find somebody you can trust and knows the language to get the exact context.
Netflix is notorious for simplifying/ messing translations anyway. And from the drama's side, they could have been more careful with how they name countries (regardless of what their intesions were).

It's a weird algorithm. Some videos like bts work fine but pre-releases never worked for me due to country restrictions (it's been the same since before WTPR was released) π€·ββοΈ
As a whole I really liked this show. However I didn't like some parts of episodes 11&12 cos I thought it was a…
The Argan arc wasn't executed well. It should have had an episode of it's own instead of squeezing it into 20 mins or so worth of content, so a lot of context as well as "action" sequences lost meaning. The arc wasn't as romanticized in the novel (at least until really reunited) and HJ's presense and hostage situation there wasn't so simplified either.
SE does disappear in the novel too but it was handled better for the most part in the novel since HJ wasn't left hanging in Limbo (SE faked his death since he had to get rid of his false identity but shortly before his "death', he shared a criptic emotional farewell message with HJ enough for her to understand that she wasn't abandoned which helped her cope when she thought he was dead and when she started to suspect that he didn't die)

When may I ask?
Liking her does not mean he has any intension of pursuiting her.
They do meet up twice but neither time did the SML do anything remotely suggestive toward her. He did antoganize SE but that was mostly because he found SE's intensions towards Heeju suspicious (since SE is a married man but SML doesn't know that HJ is his wife).
I do admit, during the orphanage scene with the nun, he had this sad look when he spoke of his first love but you can be sad and not pursuit someone right? It's more like he was sad for what never happened/ could never happen and not worth pursuiting.
(It's possible he may have known that she was married but not to who since even her colleagues knew she was married)

Based on majority of the interactions, I'm guessing those honestly cared are not the ones spamming the page. Yesterday the concerns were very coherent and clear. You can actually feel their pain (both fans as well as concerned viewers).

Hey sorry! I missed your previous comment!
Ngl i don't really follow political announcements much so my awareness is quite limited.
What you said does make sense but if I'm not mistaken, in WTPR's universe, the sign inteprettor was part of the presidential office's suggested initiatives even before the first kidnapping. So they might have always planned to do this extra service? (guessing it was a publicity tool based on how the higher up reacted when SE announced that he will be learning sign language too).
I did see this reel last month related to the SK government where the spokesperson and sign intepretor were together in one platform (not sure what the context behind it) so this might be a South Korean thing depending on the circumstance?
Ironically just like most political issues in general, people fixate on the wrong thing and attack eachother while the real culprits as usual will get away scot free.
Netflix will probably find some loop hole by playing the ambiguous card and MBC will keep quiet for as long as they can since as a public network, they can't really address the issue without taking a solid stance (with their current political issues, I highly doubt a major public network will risk everything for the sake of one drama).
Hopefully future dramas will not try to bring in sensitive topics unless they are able to back them (even if their intensions are good or bad) and hopefully viewers too would do their research better (not pointing fingers but some of the comments below are too vile to be actually concerned).
I must've missed it but why did the granddad/father get the truck to smash into the car killing the FL's lil brother?
The little brother saw real Sa Eon's face which ruined his "switch" plan in case if the kid said something.
Honestly that entire family is sick. Egoistic righteousness took over common sense since he seriously feared a 2 Yr old kid who was even too young to ride the carousel aloneπ
This was said hours ago, but people here just won't accept the fact.Literally, no one in S. Korea has issue with…
Unrelated topic- what was the rival show that hit 15%? My usual source for daily drama updates is π so I'm at the mercy of SNS / Netflix these days when it comes to finding new showsπ«
Reading this thread was a bit enlightening since I was wandering why X was so LOUD about this issue while none of the other SNS accounts i use barely made a peep except may be in the comments thread but that's also not much. Most were filled with love/ ridiculing Argan plot only.
Point 1- In the novel, Heeju was supposed to be part of a volunteer sign language teaching group and she'd been…
I get what you mean!
Looks like by the time they finalized the final episodes, they either shortened the number of episodes or ran out of screen time space or was close to missing some deadline and just summarised alot of bits that shouldn't have been summarised just so they can complete it.
Without context from the novel, it does kind of remind me of certain C-dramas that felt disjointed because they had to remove scenes/ episodes after filming.
it had me wondering the whole damn time!! greatest flaw in the whole drama! brothers would have 100% same dna!
Not really- they are half brothers.
Even pure siblings won't have a perfect score due to the way the parents' DNA are split (idk the exact science of this though to go into further detail π π π ). The score will be high but probably not high enough to be the "parent"
They could have elaborated it better ngl rather than just calling it DNA test.
Point 1- In the novel, Heeju was supposed to be part of a volunteer sign language teaching group and she'd been…
Haha ikr! I read the Korean to Mandarin to English translation of that particular chapter- calling it a rollercaster ride is a major understatementπ
only 2 flaws in my opinion:1. can anyone freely fly to a war zone and right into the heart of enemy rebels, get…
Point 1- In the novel, Heeju was supposed to be part of a volunteer sign language teaching group and she'd been there for months by this point. Her teaching base was raided because the rebels/ soldiers (can't remember which grp) needed an inteprettor since their hostage was deaf and couldn't communicate. SE was part of the negotiation team handling the same situation coincidentally (he was abit rambo like in the novel too though ngl π)
The drama probably ran out of time to do a proper episode on this or tried to romanticize it too much.
Point 2- the DNA test probably was specifically a paternity test since they didn't show the % of match
SE is too traumtised to think rationally- specially where HeeJu is concerned π
IMO guess they tried to squeeze too many plot points into ep 12 while trying to give fans as much SaJu moments as possible which didn't really work with the screentime available. πππ
They could have picked one lane and focussed on it properly since they already did many changes to SE's character. The fake death plot point cojld have actually worked since they did include it at first in ep 12
I didn't even expect the Argan plot line ngl since it felt beyond their budget and too time consuming for 1 episode π
--- In the novel, the story wraps up with their reunion in Agan. There are additional bonus pages available that work as an epilogue that covers SaJus life but idk if these were part of the original novel or released separately later.
(The Argan reunion story is more fleshed out in the novel since Heeju spends months as part of an intepretor/ sign language volunteer teacher there while looking for SE on the side and only gets captured by the rebels because they raided Heeju's base- she wasn't randomly looking for the sunset spot).
I have a questionWhy was it written in the document that there was no kinship between Saeon and Uiyong, when it…
Since they didn't show the % match, it probably was a paternity test specifically? It's not really mentioned in the drama so it's opn for interpretation i guess.
Kdramas usually like to show the % to dramatize the result so it's an interesting choice to not show it.
A few intepretations from Koreans.

They are not veirifed accounts and thanks to anonymity, users can say whatever they want.
Does MDL verify their articles or is it free for all like with the reviews?
It's always good to ask for links may be to confirm what they say?
