Not necessarily, and in this case, most likely not. Her father was most likely a general/trained assassin under the WEI faction, and was with the faction since childhood, hence taken the last name WEI as part of the "brotherhood" family. Just like the Marquis also has Xie Wu, Xie Jie, Xie Shi Yi as his generals. The rebels side has SUI Hu and SUI Yue as their generals. These Xie and SUI generals are not related by blood respectively to the Marquis and the SUI brothers.

Are you talking about the scene with her on the horse facing him vs. facing forward? If so, I think it's most likely cut. TOday's scene was also well executed in how he picked her up onto the stallion.

It's watchable to me. I don't know what your taste is. I'd rate PoJ a 10, but Blossom an 8.5. But it takes me several months to finish it, plus skipping some scenes, AND jumped straight to the last episode. Strangely, a lot of people like it. 🤷♀️ Maybe I"M the strange one. 😂
