From ep 28, QM said he wants to take revenge on Lord ChangXi and SYQ. He doesn't care about the throne. It's been 17 years!!! After today's episode, I'm speculating that Lord ChangXi liked QM's mom, but somehow she ended up marrying QM's dad. Lord ChangXi planned for QM's father demise. QM's mom asked Lord ChangXi to spare QM's life and raise him as her last dying wish. All speculation here....from watching too many cdramas. Your thoughts?

Surprisingly, it went by pretty quick. It's amazing that momentum of the show keeps going.

I wasted a few hours and went out for hotpot with family, came back with loads of comments on the page. There are so much to read. Sigh....I guess this is when I don't mind at all that commenters repeat postings/re-post because who would have thought back-scrolling is so exhausting? 😂

The makeup-hair/costume dept of POJ is so top-notch. They style all important characters so well.

This drama is female-centric with ChangYu as the main protagonist, she and the Marquis as the main COUPLE. I feel the Marquis role is written pretty well here, and not disappointed at all with his screen time. If he were to have more screen time, it would change the dynamic of story, and no longer faithful to the original story. That's almost saying GONGSUN should have more screentime because his role is under utilized. Perhaps because ZLH shows up as first on the billing, people mistook his role in the drama. Happy watching!!

No, but whoever is tallying, don't forget to include the hickey in the post-credit scene in today's episode. You know it takes 2 to make a hickey on the neck. =P

I really like her styling in here. Very dainty and feminine, yet intelligent and mentally strong. Her overall look reminds me of Chinese manwah.

OMG!!!! Yes, I remember now. He plays the character with the eye on the forehead!! Love in Pavilion is one of my all time favorites with Dongfang Huai Zhu and Hong Ye.

Him mentioning her looking for a scholar to marry and have a family really riles her up good.

That's good to know. I just checked his bio. I've apparently watched a handful of dramas with him as support cast. Guess I'll be more on the look out for him going forward.

Also agree. I think that's why the show is so entertaining. Not everything is black and white.
