I actually the plot with multiple couples. If I could, I’ll even add a love interest for Xie Wu, ML’s trusted general. I’ll also add a love line for Mr. Jin and Mr. Li instead of them pining for FL.
No CP’s are upstaging the main couple. All 3 cp’s are “different flavors” for the audience. I love them all… toxic or not. They add to the plot nicely. 😀

The rule may have changed again. The gov't dept responsible for censorship and broadcasting/approval would release rules to combat certain issues. I guess they changed it again or make some kind of exception, etc. 🤷♀️

There's a rule in place about splitting a long drama. Season 2 would have to wait a year before it's allowed to be aired. This is to prevent production company from loopholing a long drama. Because of this, I rather they keep it at 40 to finish the story. Other big dramas that split lost their momentum, like Flourished Peony and Lost You Forever.
I'm laughing at the dynamic of our cp's relationship. Their roles are reversed from a typical family: she's the head of household and he's the wife. She slaps him around (not encouraging this practice but on average done by men to women more than the other way around). she said she would support him. She went after him and asked him to come home. She basically wears the pants. 🤪
