She came to mortal realm as a spirit, not a demon. Spirit is on a lower level of “evil” compare to demon in their world. Both spirits and demons are grouped together in general as bad entities and are out to harm others. TZ and others can’t sense YD’s spirit because she was supposed to be a heavenly being in the mortal world, but because she was greatly injured before getting to the mortal realm, YY had to remove her heavenly core inorder to save all that is left of her physical body. Not a true spirit but also without a heavenly core.

I like how LLTG captures the royal family’s relationships and its complexity. It’s like watching a reality show set in historical time with all the dramas and internal conflicts, but presents it like a typical, big, chaebol family.
I also find it most interesting that a few times when Consort Yue enters the scene, the Emperor takes a backseat stance with a knowing look on his face. He knows those in the room are going to get a good verbal whipping and put into their places by the consort. Yes, we know she wears the pants and means business regarding family issues. Even though he’s the Emperor who rules the nation, she has equal authority when it comes to managing the family. Not to mention, he enjoys her coming to the rescue.

SS’s dad is a low rank general as mentioned many times by several people, so he doesn’t qualify under that status. CSS and LBY aren’t married yet, so they can’t attend as “in-law” status either.

I'm finally caught up with all the episodes. Wow, I have to say I'm very impressed with ZLS crying scene in ep 36. It feels so real. I could feel her pain and sadness.
On another note, the self-defense scene between CSS and LBY right afterward is so sweet.
