Does anyone else thinks that beside the beautiful cinematography the music fits so damn well to this historical…
I crack up every time Ah Fei commits a faux-pas and silly instrumental music is played.

Wow, ep 11 & 12 really deliver. Best eps so far for me.

CSS is so quick in taking control during difficult time. She really shines.

Ah Fei and Qi, LBY’s dynamic duo, continue to be my top favorites.

CSS and LBY’s connection is getting stronger. Looking forward now to more episodes.

He made his forehead vein pop. It made me break a sweat to watch it. Only very good actors can do that. Impressed.
Hahaha I noticed the popping vein, too. Plus the neck strained muscle cords. AND he’s gained more body muscles between this show and TLB. šŸ˜€

Gosh, make me sound like a pervert.

Up to ep 10 and Ah Fei remains my favorite character.

For some reason , Qiqi reminds me of actress/comedian Awkwafina. It’s not the face, but how she carries herself , demeanor, body movements, the way she talks, etc.

Which dynasty is this drama set in? Han dynasty?
Early Eastern Han circa 30AD. There’s a detailed thread under Discussion by a poster as well.

What dramas are you watching right now? I’m switching to Kdramas until some more Cdrama costume dramas will…
I’m looking forward to these two leads also. Hopefully, it’ll be a good show.

look like it will be, there was data on local TV, but with cdramas I believe 100% only when see first episode))
Speaking from personal experience, refrain from reading the novel. It takes away the element of surprise when watching the show, especially one that airs over several weeks. Read it AFTER the show of you still enjoy the storyline very much.

Eve is extremely toxic and neurotic. It’s so heavy I can only handle 1-2 episodes a week, which happens to be the rate of new episode release anyway. The FL is well cast for her role though.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
Ep 36Chi and ZPE relationship is so good now. Love their back and forth, they feel like really good friends that…
It’s funny you’re puzzled over who does Lei Jing serve —- because I have the same question in a recent episode!

After some thoughts, I feel he serves the Emperor in the open . However, he sides with the Empress which means he would also yield to Mr. Xiao if needed since Mr. Xiao also sides with the Empress and is of higher ranking than Lei Jing.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
did his father (xiao qinyan) really mean to kill PanEr, or did his younger brother (xiao wei) make that all up?…
Mr. Xiao’s character is extremely deep and has been very hard to read since the beginning. Nothing is what it seems when it comes to him. For a long time, I’ve been hoping he’s a nice father and is simply misunderstood by the stubborn GQF. However, towards the end of the drama, I’m beginning to see him through GQF’s discerning eyes, especially since the ā€œrepay in bloodā€ scene in severing all ties. Normally, I would still grant Mr. Xiao the benefit of doubt but given there are only a few episodes left, his conniving ways are more damning as there isn’t enough time for the director/ scriptwriter to patch their relationship up nicely. With that as an indicator along with other tellings, I would have to label Mr Xiao as a hidden villain with many faces — that means his intention to kill Pan’er is rather positive.

At this point, we know the Empress is the ultimate player in court who has the ability to disarm the powerful Qi Mu with Ou Yang’s planning. Mr. Xiao is also implicated, and to clear the Empress’s suspicion of his loyalty, Mr Xiao plans to kill Pan’er and places the blame on Qi Mu to be on the Empress’s good side again. This part is truly convoluted.

The editing is poorly done the last few episodes. I feel too much content is packed in and not enough time is spent explaining from many angles from ep 36 onward. Nevertheless, I still enjoy this drama immensely. Two more episodes to go!

I didn’t know for sure Mr, Xiao intend to kill Pan’er UNTIL I heard Xiao Wei called Pan’er ā€˜sister in law’ when they parted way. It wasn’t translated as such in English, but simply as Pan’er when he called her as such and said take care. In Chinese, calling someone ā€œsis-in-lawā€ is extending major respect to someone. At this point, I was sure Mr. Xiao intended to kill Pan’er.

The last few episodes seem rushed and some parts got edited out, so it was a bit disjointed.

Title A Dream of Splendor Spoiler
How did Pan'er save GQF? How would GQF be affected if Ouyang Xu's painting was real? I feel like I missed a lot…
OuYang’s painting is real, but the Emperor doesn’t know that. Since Mr. Yang is dead, , there’s no other way to validate whether OuYang’s version is authentic or not. Using this info, Pan’er verbally changed the color of the painting to green brocade with red mounting. In flashback and passed scenes, OuYang’s version (authentic) has gold brocade and brown mounting. So now, the Emperor will question OuYang and Mr. Qi’s ultimate purpose in bringing forth this painting , which to him is a fake, just to discredit the Empress for impeachment. Hadn’t Pan’er done this, OuYang could easily claim GQF helped the Empress secretly in hiding her past, fooling the Emperor which can lead to grave punishment by death.

Right! I was like wow, two women leading big name law firms! Cool.
Given that majority of kdrama viewers are female, show producers should have done this a long time ago, but because in reality most CEOs and bosses in Asia are mostly male, I suppose the idea is a bit hard to sell. Now that it’s being done, it’s showing a positive sentiment towards women leadership! The show is a feel-good tagline, and having the lady bosses certainly adds weight to oomph!

As a woman, I’m glad to see two ladies heading two separate major law firms in the show!!

This drama is truly advocating for a progressive concept, not only covering autism in a professional workplace but also women empowerment.

I like it a lot!
