I started out really liking the plot and cast of this drama. It was refreshing watching a drama with an older leading lady with a kid. Half way through it though the story and plot seemed to drag on.
The best part was each episode (mostly) had a mini story line dealing with customers and how each side of the main romance pair helped them
The bad was how the relationship between the two main romance characters was constantly going round and round having the same conflict.
It is a light drama with a great cast of personalities and actors. So if you're looking for something to casually watch I would go for it.

I'm very conflicted about this drama. It started out bad, I considered just dropping it because it had way more than enough 'ugh' moments. I like campy and over acting as much as anyone, but in the first 4 episodes I was not engulfed or interested in any of it. I continued struggling not to skip large portions, but I kept going through all 24 episodes.
I didn't like how the story started, and I've never been one to like historical dramas, and I disliked most characters in this. Seriously. The special effects and armor were kinda bad.
Then around the middle of it I started to become more attached to watching it and actually liking the character development. Also the story line got more interesting.
At the end I was very satisfied with all the characters (including the king which I thought was the worst out of it). The story line kept it interesting until the end. Like most dramas the ending is always cut short only not giving me satisfaction of 'years later' or any hint of what the characters would be doing after the conclusion.
My advice is if you're into historical dramas with a small amount of fantasy you will probably love it.
If the beginning had a better direction and the ending wasn't cut short so much my rating would be higher. Not a bad watch if you can get through the first 4 or 5 episodes. I don't think I'll rewatch it anytime soon, but the action is decent & the characters grow on you.

I really thought I'd hate this drama. I wanted to hate this drama. I watch almost exclusively Korean Dramas. Yet I don't hate the drama. I really liked it. It has it's downsides, but overall I watched it quickly and found myself really liking the transformation. It's a cute drama with low key twists and turns.
What I didn't like was the characters in the beginning. They were all garbage people who were self centered and lacked communication. Even the heroine at the start was this way.
I will agree with the opinion that the length was wasted. In the end it left me wanting to see them live out this happy ending, but it was cut off. At the same time it did lag at times with side stories that weren't important. The best characters were definitely Shan Shan's family. Most like able people in the whole drama from start to finish. I wish they had been involved more.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves romance stories. It's also funny and awkward at times, but it's all apart of its charm.
