Glad the fl isn't annoying like the stalker love interest in Survivor, so I don't mind the romance. As long as its natural, don't dumb down her character to force it. They can be both smart together.

I'm enjoying it so far.

The drama cut/changed a lot of scenes including the YYZ arc and my fave scene with fl and her generals. You'll get all those in the novel + the proper, unrushed HE and extra.

Yes the novel definitely has a better ending. A proper HE, unlike the drama's bittersweet one.

It has the same title, Qie Shi Tian Xia / Who Rules the World.

We can only hope for them to work together again in the future.

In the drama she actually replied that it'll be worth to be buried with him if they don't survive.

And the line he told her before he left "I will repay you in the next life" was different in the novel. His original line was "I will come back to find you in the next life! I will not be short lived in the next life! Feng Xi remember me!" Their lips touched and their tears dropped.

Their love story is beautiful and impactful that the drama had to cut it because there will definitely be a lot of
YYZ x BFX shippers.

You're welcome~ The 2nd half of the novel was my favorite with the conflicting emotions of fl with her responsibilities and personal feelings. She even got mad at ml for hiding the truth about YYZ because he knew all along.

And the fact that the fl actually had a first love unlike most stories where the fl has to stay pure and untouched for the ml. She is a well written character.
The first love was genuine, and YYZ played by a hot actor also helps. Quite a few viewers felt the chemistry with ZLS even though their love line was toned down in the drama.

Okay, gotta stop now. It's getting obvious that I like the novel. lol

The drama didn't make him come back.

In the novel, when fl killed him on the battlefield she didn't know it was him because he was wearing a mask.

It was for her sake, because he knew that she will have a hard time if she knew who he was.

I feel the need to add this detail because despite their romance being short lived, it was a genuine first love.

Iirc, its China's internet/online valentines day because May 20 or 520 sounds like "I love you" in mandarin. It became popular as a romantic day or day to express love. So dramas/movies release something on that date (tomorrow) for the fans.

Can't help but expect something for 520 since this team is good with their cp and posters.

What is up with ml's 10 years..? I did not sign up for Aragorn-Arwen 2.0. This is why JW was important. Since the drama didn't have him I thought those masters would be useful. Turns out a chef is more powerful. Now I'm back to being annoyed at LH because if she didn't backstab fl, literally, then the flower would've been useful.

Someone really had to cut the eps down to 40 and decided to keep the maid and cheating scenes but not BFHX's heart wrenching scene on the battlefield.. ZLS's arms worked hard on that scene. lol

I like HC just like novel-HC so I don't mind him getting the world. But what was the point of focusing too much on politics and the token if they're gonna follow the novel ending anyways.

Its bittersweet. LX better leave XY with FR (or FP..?). I guess she can always take FR/FP back to Qingzhou or wander again, visit the lake HC built for her.

Anyways, as a novel fan I still enjoyed the drama overall. And thanks to the stylist for ZLS's look at the end, gearing me up for CSS.

39-40/40 So the drama had the scene that moved me in the novel, but it didn't have the same effect. Maybe because it wasn't intimate.

Anyways, it was really HP that got novel-JR'd here. I was worried about QS and LJ because they had moments with fl, but I guess my consolation is she didn't lose any of her generals. And her fengyun army protecting and dying for their King Qing is what I'm here for.

Though I got clowned, I thought there'd be a kiss. At least a light one since they'll never show us the papapa from the novel. But most importantly..

What I meant above was the punishment. The king was cruel watching FJ turn mad if he did that on purpose. Death would've been showing mercy as it was the appropriate punishment.

The wedding was nice, but since ZLS is still breathing and fully clothed, then ZYC has not been dethorned. lol FC was kilig and YY was gigil.
