Iirc, its China's internet/online valentines day because May 20 or 520 sounds like "I love you" in mandarin. It became popular as a romantic day or day to express love. So dramas/movies release something on that date (tomorrow) for the fans.

Can't help but expect something for 520 since this team is good with their cp and posters.

What is up with ml's 10 years..? I did not sign up for Aragorn-Arwen 2.0. This is why JW was important. Since the drama didn't have him I thought those masters would be useful. Someone really had to cut the eps down to 40 and decided to keep the maid and cheating scenes but not BFHX's heart wrenching scene on the battlefield.. ZLS's arms worked hard on that scene. lol

I like HC just like novel-HC so I don't mind him getting the world. But what was the point of focusing too much on politics and the token if they're gonna follow the novel ending anyways.

Its bittersweet. LX better leave XY with FR (or FP..?). I guess she can always take FR/FP back to Qingzhou or wander again, visit the lake HC built for her.

Anyways, as a novel fan I still enjoyed the drama overall. And thanks to the stylist for ZLS's look at the end, gearing me up for CSS.

39-40/40 So the drama had the scene that moved me in the novel, but it didn't have the same effect. Maybe because it wasn't intimate.

Anyways, it was really HP that got novel-JR'd here. I was worried about QS and LJ because they had moments with fl, but I guess my consolation is she didn't lose any of her generals. And her fengyun army protecting and dying for their King Qing is what I'm here for.

Though I got clowned, I thought there'd be a kiss. At least a light one since they'll never show us the papapa from the novel. But most importantly..

What I meant above was the punishment. The king was cruel watching FJ turn mad if he did that on purpose. Death would've been showing mercy as it was the appropriate punishment.

37-38/40 Its so good to see the phoenix by fengyun army from the novel in action.
And I like how they got king You right. He's entertaining even if we didn't get the massive shock of realizing BFHX is XY and LX. lol

But what's up with that fight of fl and HC..? So far fl's fight scenes have been good, yet this important one turned out like this.. But I can overlook because damn, the chemistry from previous sword bending is still there.

And most importantly, HC is still novel-HC so far. I mean, he better be since it seems we're having the novel ending here + the extra.

Same, I was worried because she didn't head straight home. I thought they'd only made her go when she's informed of XY's death so she really "have" to go since she seem much more concerned of Yongzhou. I mean, since they made XY make it to adulthood here, might as well give fl moments with him before the inevitable.

I have nothing against that if thats their message, but its just so sudden. Its kinda hard to immediately believe without being sus cause he's always been testing ml this whole time.

So ml really didn't know. I was expecting a pleasantly surprised reaction from him after finding out his first love and current love is the same person since they delayed the reveal this far. And also him realizing XY is fl's brother. It was kinda anticlimactic but I guess there's no time cause everyone around fl's gotta die now.

The fl saying she doesn't have family left and not replying awhile after ml said she still has him, reminds me of JW. It was always a comfort knowing she had JW, and will always have him. But he's not here.

Anyways, its still weird seeing king Yong being nice to ml. And LH is unpleasant now. lol She's lucky fl has a big heart and everyone around her is sane.

35-36/40 Finally, fl goes home. Though I still think she should've gone home the moment she heard instead of being informed, but its so good to finally have fl focused eps. even if its on the last week.

As expected, ZLS did well with what she was given with the script. XHCL director was right. And she looked so good as King Qing.

Anways, the "auntie" was ml's mom. lol

I'm sure there will be sad scenes for fl ahead, and ZLS will do well on it. But it will only be that, sad. I was hoping for the conflicting emotions build up to that scene as that part really moved me to the point I had to pause reading for a while.

Yes, thats what the comments section is for. Though there are pages here in mdl where regulars police the comments that aren't all praises. This page doesn't seem to be one. As long as its not personal attacks or blatant bashing, discussions are good.

Though I purposely avoid the comments section now compared to before because of the spoilers as I don't watch the eps the moment they're out. Even though I read the novel, I still prefer to have some excitement left when watching the drama.
