Oh yeah I do get that but they didn't really explain why she did it, it seemed more like she was upset he was marrying someone else and decided to peace out lol. Also I'm worried about the upcoming different lives, in 2 of them she's either stabbing him or trying to kill him some other way when there is no way he's done anything to hurt her given how he's been so far so is it 5 other misunderstandings again or???

Did she sacrifice to save him? I'm still confused as to how fast she decided to enter the demotion pool while she had 10% of the information and how is that saving him? The trailers for what's coming are making it seem like he's atoning for some horrible wrong by sacrificing everything multiple times while she stabs him and tries to kill him because ???? None of this was his fault.

There is a phrase in this preview that repeats itself. You promise to protect her, but who will protect you? (And…
I really hope we get to see her protect him and sacrifice for him too cause that trailer is looking very one sided. Especially since the wedding seems to be not his fault. I don't think I can do 30 eps of him doing everything alone to make up for smt that was forced upon him. One of the reasons I liked his last drama AMBF is it had a great FL who was just as willing to do these things.

who hurt you?
I don't know if this a joke or you're just being derisive but too many cdramas play out the exact same way when it comes to the romance. An obsessed ML if not from the start then soon enough for generally inexplicable reasons, 2-3 2MLs hanging around, a FL whose feelings are very rarely as deep as the MLs etc so it's easy to guess.

What makes it even funnier is that this is a chinese drama, meaning in 5 episodes max he's going to be obsessed with her and doing every single thing for while she displays 20% of the same feelings at best. And then when she finds out, he's going to spend 10-15 episodes groveling and begging for forgiveness, risking his life 30 times while she almost marries the SML until she deigns accept and by the time they finally get together you won't even be able to tell if she likes this man or is just settling for the winner of the "Most obsessed with me award".

People don't want to watch a love story anymore, they just want the ML to be head over heels for the FL from ep 1 even if most of the time it makes no sense. Believable relationship progression and a ML with his own goals and complexity ? What's that. All you need is a hot dude running after the FL and you're set. Y'all want someone to wake up after being drugged, find himself being forced into marriage and be like "Let's go my queen" Like be so for real.

Review The Glory
You're a lot more generous than me, writing wise this was barely a 5 for me despite the great cinematography and my love for female revenge narratives. I saw the cracks early on with how nonsensical the "schemes" from all sides were and they completely lost me when she proclaimed "I am the fire" to the ML when most of her plotting seemed to succeed due to luck or other people's help and their entire relationship thus far had consisted of him saving her multiple times otherwise she would've been dead 10 times over. As you said the mother, both the actress and the character were the highlight of this story, as for the entire thing, while I really appreciate the focus on female characters and their stories and their willingness to showcase them as complicated and even downright deeply unlikable, at times it felt incredibly performative with "badass" moments and lines designed for tiktok bait instead of showcasing actually intelligent characters which is the issue with most of these girlboss cdramas.

I read the novel and it's hands down one of the best of its genre. The depth of the characters and the complexity…
Honestly that description sounds great, not only the focus on female relationships but also the mutual care and both of them doing the work instead of one person (99% of the time it's the guy) hopefully they don't change it because judging by the trailer it looks like quite one sided.

Yes it's very good. The female lead (Li Shuang) is a general and she has the same character vibe as Shen Li .…
This sounds so much better than the novel synopsis. A lot more complex and interesting and I really hope the obsession and intensity is equal from both sides not just him and he's a multifaceted character with different priorities and not just love, we've gotten sooo many dramas lately where it's just the guy obsessed by himself with no other personality while the FL is all about her goals and it's getting really boring. The best couples are the ones where they're insane about each other not just one of them.

This has to be the dumbest break up reason I've ever seen and that's saying something considering it's kdramas we're talking about.

What do you mean she's going to break up with him over something that happened over 15 years ago when he was a kid going through the most horrifying thing any child could go through and she KNOWS this.

Her reaction then? Completely valid. This ? This is just completely insane.

3rd wheels? You mean SLFs? And yeah I think dramas before before had more of this, something like you are my glory but now most dramas especially modern ones are very downbad men who are doing everything for love taking 99 steps while the women take 1 step.

I was generally referring to the the last couple of years and what's airing rn mostly, we do get a few that fall as hard but it's not the case for the vast majority and if they're not verbalizing it and showing then how is it qualified as falling as hard, personal interpretation ? If it's not actually shown in the story like for the MLs then it's a moot point. I mean rn we have or had first frost, best thing, si Jin , filter and this one and they all fall under this category.

lol same about the snowboard and "I’m guessing this is one of those he fell 1st and harder things" is there anything else at this point? ML always falls harder and it's not even close, forget harder getting a drama where the FL falls even just the same as the ML is like trying to find a flying pig.

I've noticed Xu Ruo Han always has great chemistry with her leading men, she's not afraid to sell it and go all in for the small moments and kisses and I find it makes a lot of difference to the authenticity of the romance.

The bad review, pinpoint the detail and complaining about it is a work of people who don't like a drama to have…
This is so incredibly off base and frankly offensive, I for one could not care less about the drama's views , literally what reason would there be for that? I've been a drama fan for years and this is a comment section where the entire point is for us to have respectful discussions and voice our own opinions about said dramas, how is doing exactly that suddenly cause for such remarks? Just because we disagree with you doesn't mean we're incapable of understanding the narrative or we have some ridiculous nefarious reasons to tank the drama.

Also, there are many people who project their own moral values or more like judge character behaviors/actions…
I also get your point just let me point out this is just speculation/hope for the future but what's actually been the reality is completely different. I'm not usually one for pessimism but with the writing so far I highly doubt they're suddenly going to make it a balanced equal dynamic after 18 episodes.

I genuinely don't want him to scream at her or treat her badly in any way that's not at all what I'm saying, all I wanted was maybe for him to take a step back, prioritize himself like she's doing to her life and for her to make some effort to chase him the way he's been doing.

For there to be even a semblance of balance in their efforts to take care of each other because with 2/3 of the show done it's not even close, everyone going on about how they want their own Dr. Ye means one thing, that they want to be treated this way but they would never want to be in his shoes, the person always giving but never receiving.

Him saying "love yourself i'll do the rest" essentially means and ( it's what's exactly been happening) you put yourself first and I'll also put you first so who's going to put him first? Shouldn't it be we'll put each other first while also not neglecting our own well being?

Title The Best Thing Spoiler
Also, there are many people who project their own moral values or more like judge character behaviors/actions…
For me the bigger issue lies in 2 things, first the way he reacts to all of this as if he's a saint and all he's allowed to do is put her first no matter what and the second and most important is that he's not afforded the same writing, we don't get an arc where he's the one struggling ( the drama's not over but you know we won't) and she reacts with the same selflessness and support, their entire rlsp revolves around her needs and him fulfilling them. It would completely fine otherwise because people make mistakes but you grown from them but if your entire dynamic is so incredibly one sided that's impossible.
