It took me awhile to finish because there were very little subs when I started this months ago. It was worth the wait. Great, great chemistry between the lead couple is the reason I kept watching. The happy ending is the reason to finish since they are so rare in fantasy, historical-like Chinese dramas. (A moment of silence for Scarlet Heart). The role swapping personalities were well played out by both Sandra Ma who embodied Wonder Woman with a head slicing instead of gold lasso and Peter Cheng the epitome of beauty, class, style and fashion! The humor is worth watching. The empty filler episodes can be skipped. The drama is worth watching to the end see the twists. 8.5/10
So beautiful! It only took 30 minutes to make a meaningful short film that makes you appreciate many things one takes for granted until they are gone. 10/10
In episode 0 the director said that the story is in the span of 8 years of them being together but they would…
Thanks. Yes, I know. I did not state 12 consecutive days were spent together. They met over three different trips as stated in the original description. My comment adds more detail to the description. That is why I only commented and not put in a request to replace the original description. I modified by initial comment. I hope this clears it up.
I loved it especially since it was based on a true story. Takeru was the stand out in this movie. The story was great. The real Mai must have saved a nation in her previous life because she married a patient and loving man. 9.5/10
More info: "Two people feeling pressured in their respective careers, hers as a New York photographer and his as a Japanese dancer, accidentally meet while traveling. Will fated love develop or will this potential romance falter over the 12 days they spend together during three trips?"
Very enjoyable and a little heartbreaking. It makes you rethink the qualities we use to judge people. Are we judging the character or some superficial trait?

I like the acting, costumes, sets and found the script interesting to watch until ep. 70 when it seems to be going over a cliff towards some typical tragic ending as usual. It is no longer worth watching. The Empress of China drama is loosely based on the same historical couple. The empress had more power in that drama.
I thought about watching this but I haven't even reached episode 10 and so much already happened, how are they…
Conspiracy is the main theme of this drama followed by the lustful and gullible emperor. The harem is one big nest of back stabbers. The plotting recycles with each episode. I made it to ep. 70. That is about all I need to see.
The drama is worth watching if your expectations are in line with a comedy, romance and sometimes suspense chase drama. - No, this will never be the drama Two Weeks. That is an intense, more realistic chase drama with a star studded cast, excellent script and a killer that was the best role Song Jae Rim every played. - Yes, So Ji Sub carries this drama as expected. No surprise there. - Yes, it is more comedy than a suspense/mystery/thriller - Yes, the romance seems a little rushed - Yes, there are plot holes, but, the story is still enjoyable - Yes, the NIS agency members did not graduate at the top of their class which makes this even funnier!
So Ep 49 did the headmaster deliberately cause the "outing" of Zhi We's mother and brother? And if you reply,…
The headmaster did not deliberately cause the mother and son to be exposed. He had to scramble at the last minute. The son gambled away the Da Cheng Bloody Pagoda command emblem exposing his family ties to them. Then, the wicked prince tried to implicate Ning Yi to Bloody Pagoda. Headmaster tried to for a win-win situation. If the mother would bow down to the king she could live. She refused. She had her own plans with the delayed poison planning to take her own life and declare her children knew nothing about their statuses so they could live. It looked like to many uncoordinated short notice plans. Just a mess. The rest of the chapters seem to degrade after this. I'm up to ep. 60.
I like that the director and writer did not strip the innocence before and after the "shrimp peeling." The words and feelings reflect the age, caring and naiveté of both Ae and Pete down to the starts, stops, seconding guessing and frustration. This is the addictive essence of this drama because we all can relate to the awkwardness, excitement, and second guessing that comes with new relationships!
I am looking forward to seeing more of Bai Jing Ting and seeing Mark Chao in another drama. Misaeng superbly captured the plight of the average office worker. I hope this drama can do the same.
Actually, he is so versatile that he is nailing this role so good much better than shopping king louie which I…
You have missed my point. See both comments above. I said nothing about the versatility of SIG. I just do not want to see him in this role since I already know how it ends. I like to see him in romantic comedies. That is my preference. That's all. There are lots of dramas that suit different tastes. Enjoy.
