Oh for sure, I definitely agree. I just think everyone should be given the grace of mistakes and coming back from it. And so far, it looks like he’s aware of his mistake and willing to submit to it. For me, that’s appreciable (regardless of gender)

It’s been so long I’ve felt compelled to talk so much about a show, about every episode but ahhh this show really is making me!

This is all about ep 28!

I love how emotionally versatile Lin Jinqi is. Capable in front of elders, dependable to his siblings, strong to his subordinates and understanding/considerate to his wife who is angry at this moment. Bro. That’s impressive to me.

I also liked how layered first madam was with the wedding then the follow up. She was fainting and upset, then got me laughing with ‘he deserves the beating’ to defending Lanxiang in front of elders.

I also found the way writers have been able to get us immersed in lanxiang’s ptsd with Lin family through overlapping flashback details or voices and thereby showing us the reason for her actions, whether the slap or the silence when greeting the elders. Beautifully done.

The humour is top notch, with jiugao and nanke, but also I loved they showed them realising emperors decree isn’t all that good, it’s not good to force someone and they don’t want to do that. I really liked that. Jinqi is leading by example even when doing the wrong move lol.

The maids team and their friendship and all of them navigating their new dynamic of young madam and maids together, them trying to understand lanxiang but also help her and nudge her. Them with the fish soup was soooo wholesome.

And wholesome also was the whole segment with all the siblings requesting to go to the capital. I wanted to smack second aunt but I liked that second sister has grown up atleast a little. (I was afraid third sis shouldn’t listen to her talking about having a mom phewww but still, better than before) and being good with her brother and sis in law!

Marquis and jinqi’s dynamic is also beautiful to see, their little dialogues and him helping jinqi, so good.

Grandpa you enjoy the mansion alone now with your stupid sons looooool.

Overall, the last two episodes were so well written. Just makes me really happy.

Well put, I realised that trigger too. I love that the show manages to show her build up of emotions well, with past flashbacks of words or details like that. Really immers3s you into her emotions

I think it’s totally okay to feel sad about the ML but that doesn’t really mean disliking the FL. Everyone understands what happened and why it happened. But you know, you do feel sad for the ML and you do feel sad for the FL too, those feelings can exist together..
