As for what Do hee said, there was no real concept of self-defense for women back in that time period... Men were the ones fighting, not women. The old ladies could not teach something they did not know themselves. It's easy to judge what they said in modern times, but it's honestly hard to even grasp their point of view based on the resources they had and social rules. Things that are obvious for us and things we can use where simply not a thing back then.
I already know this gonna be my favorite Namkoong Min's role.
What I loved in the past two episodes is how they truly describe and partially show the horrors of the war that normal people face. In most dramas they just show armies fighting, and if a village is attacked, everyone is just killed. But here seeing all the men getting killed while all the women being captured and dragged away was just horrifying.
I was all excited by how flirty and smooth Lee Jang Hyun was, but to be honest, the scene that impressed me the most in episode 3 was when the army gathered and they had this whole ass patriotic talk about saving the country and when everyone was hyping each other up, the dude standing in front of the young master Nam Yeon Jun gets shot in the neck and the blood splashes on Yeon Jun's face and we get closeup of his shocked face. PERFECTION! The reality hitting him after being all patriotic "ready" to die for the country, when he truly had no idea what war means and had never thought about dying. The terror on his face when they were attacked. That scene was truly perfectly set up and perfectly delivered.
I knew that all the happy and silly scenes in episode 1 and 2 were there as a set up for the pain to come. Without them, many scenes would have far less impact. It was important to see them being carefree and happy, to truly understand and feel the terror they felt after fighting and being attacked, injured and seeing others die.
I guess after Jang Hyun, Gil Chae and Yeon Jun meet again we will start the love triangle? At least to some extend. Because then the whole "friend dying and telling Yeon Jun that he likes Gil Chae" scene would be pointless.
Also, when Ryang Eum's lied about who Gil Chae was looking at I was like: you might be a child but I really want to slap you π€‘
no need to say sorry π
I had far more issue with him saying he wants to go on dates with Jumi, rather than him going on a date with JY now.
As for MG, how I see it, he finds both YS and JY attractive, he actually likes JY more, but because of his personality he gravitates towards YS more simply because their interaction and situation is not complicated. No one else goes after YS, he likes her, she likes him, there is no tension, he would not hurt ant of the other guys by "stealing" the girl their like. All the guys basically approved of him meeting with JY and push for it, but the pressure was too much and he felt so uncomfortable in that situation he still decided to go out with YS.
Also, not GR and MG going on a morning date walk on the beach πππ
JW might not show up much, but his lines are like punches π€‘ the way he turned towards MG and with that semi smile semi smirk asked if he already decided on his plans today and if he won;t decide fast, he's just going to go π His lines are legit out of kdramas.
I think one of the reason everyone pushed MG to ask JY on the date even tho they like her too was for them to finally solve the tension and their relationship out. Because before these two decide to either get together or move on, one one else can move on and make any decision. They basically just wanted to get over it all.
I kind of wish JY turned down dates earlier on too. This is the first time I see her indirectly suggest she does not want to go out with someone. And realistically speaking after her first date with both JW and GR she knew she had no feelings for them and was not attracted to them, so if she was more on the indirectly rejecting them instead of going on dates with them, I think they maybe would be able to move on. Since they would not develop such a strong feelings towards her.
Ju Mi is too nice. I think this is why she is not popular, because her attitude towards guys when they are in the house feels more like a supportive friend rather than potential date. Literally ALL the guys said she seems different 1:1 compared in the group. So for the longest time no one considered her as a romantic partner, and when she finally had a chance to go out with them, it was too late coz they already started to strongly like someone else. Like... it's extremally easy to mistake her interest for just her being kind.
MG asking JY is they can talk and JM;s reaction with a knowing smile on her face: TEA! π
JY telling HS he was not really expressing he likes her in an obvious matter. Now HS telling JM the same thing. What a fucking circus π€‘
JY girl. we need to talk. you cannot talk how you don;t want to confuse Gyeo Re and then slide your hand across his knee and leg while laughing the the cute photo you took together. I am sure the dude felt that in his break, heart and every nerve in his body πππ also, IF YOU KNOW YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUCKING TIME YOU DO NOT TELL THE DUDE THINGS COULD HAVE CHANGED IF YOU HAD MORE TIME. I honestly felt so bad for Gyeo Re during this date, and I did not quite like how JY acted.
Her focusing only on a date she in on is great for the first half of the show, but by now she should be more concrete on what she wants and who she likes, but I feel like she leads guys on a bit.
Overall, it's a mess and I'm rooting for HS and JM ππ»
