There are so so many thing i want to say but i will try to be brief and just highlight the important points...
1. This drama is really good. Stop hesitating and watch it. Initially i hesitated as well but If anything now I'm mad at myself for not watching it sooner...this is the reason you're looking for in the comments...watch it!!!
2. I really thought this was going to be another "too late to say i love you" and i was an hater initally not gonna lie. I thought there was no way Xing Xu is gonna deliver like Wallace did...buttt not only was i wrong about this being a knock off of TLTOSILY but also about Xing Xu...he was brilliant in this. I absolutely enjoyed is portrayal of Tan Xuan he did an amazing job.
3. This one is the main reason i love this drama so much...BOTH the ML and FL are smart as heck. The FL is not weak or a weakness she holds her own just as much if not more so than the ML at some points and i loved that so much. They are always like 5 steps ahead of everyone else. It was honestly so refreshing to see.
4. This is also another point that i loved but there is no love triangle...i found rhe synopsis a bit misleading in that regard. Like there is no drastic love triangle or love betrayal...the writers were writing with this one.
I see no reason for everyone liking this FL except for plot because she was honestly the worse thing about the drama for me...they way she kept slapping the ML for the most stupid reasons like ew.
It annoyed me to no end that there were no consequences for the mother...especially given that she was doing the utmost throughout the entire show...
Additionally, I hate dramas where the girl meets the guy as a gangster or villain falls in love with him as such and then spends the rest of the show trying to "change him to good" like thank Goddd this was not one of those...
Im about to rant so excuse me...The comments of some persons throughout this drama annoyed me so such...so many people were angry at Deok Im because she wouldnt accept the prince/king's feelings.
If persons were paying attention in the beginning of the show they would have understood how important her freedom was to her...and it's clear alot of people are ignorant of how mundane and boring yet ironically dangerous the life of a concubine much less a favoured one is.
Clearly some persons are clueless about the world of historical dramas or simply history...these stories rarely have a happy ending. I'm still traumatized by Ruyi's Royal love in the palace...
Who in their right mind would willingly give up their freedom and spend the entirety of their life trapped in a palace...seeing the person you love occasionally and knowing he's having sex and children with other women...yet yall crucify her for not accepting his feelings simply because he's hot and he loves her...she probably saw him more as a a court lady than a court lady who serves him.
I really enjoyed this drama because it wasn't the usual unrealistic "Korean high school students are so innocent and pure that even a kiss on the cheek is halfway sex for them" I loved how open this was about how students in highschool of course experience lust and to want to experiment etc.
My favourite couple was the one from the second story (which I liked)...however I really enjoyed the third story because I liked that in the end, the girl realized she didn't need validation from people that didn't care about her.
For a while, I thought it was going to end like that book Rosie Dunne and I hated it but it did not so I was happily wrong...Oh my, it took me months to finish this but I regret that so much because once I started it back up I finished it in like 3 days. I enjoyed this one so much and would definitely recommend it.
She honestly ruined that boy's life because she couldn't figure out why she hated hers....If he had not met her he would have gone on to live a pretty basic and insignificantly normal life...I will 100% excuse his behaviour because he's a child and his first sexual experience was with a 32-year-old woman...and it was clear he did not process what happened well nor was he able to deal with it (which isn't shocking given that he's a child) so we just watched as his life spiraled....They should make a part 2 where he's in therapy because that's obviously where he'll end up in a few year. I can't see him ever just having a "normal" relationship after this.
I despise second lead males who have loved the girl since foreverrrr but never take the risk of approaching her until someone else comes into the picture. I will say though I really loved how Dia Jun handled everything after the fact...the lack of toxicity gave me life!!
I thought people were exaggerating but my God the FL is not only annoying but dull as rusted nails...like bro how the hell are you lying and then feeling beyond "guilty" at the result of your lies but still continue lying...
But bruh...that one person who turned out to be a traitor...i didn't think i could go from liking someone to hating someone so so so much!
I really enjoyer this. My only complaint was that i wish it were longer.

This drama is worth the hype...
