Please, let’s break the curse on KBL actors and give him more projects ASAP. He’s truly talented and has a captivating presence. It would be such a waste not to give him a chance at more diverse roles just because KBL actors are often limited to BL projects. I can absolutely see him thriving in a wider range of roles.
I’m so confused this was so badly written? Am I missing something? Yeah acting was pretty good but that was…
Unfortunately, I have very similar feelings about this drama. The acting was top-tier, but the screenplay… not so much. It felt messy and unbalanced, especially for a drama with a slower pace. I usually love when things are subtle and not overly obvious, but here I found myself facing a lot of confusion—and not in a good way.
Every time Cui Shi Jiu shows up on screen, I can't help but fast-forward to the next scene or watch at 1.5x speed. I understand she’s an important character for the story, but I find her scenes so repetitive—she’s always circling back to the same statements and anger issues. It just feels boring.
There is definitely a curse with this drama. With this quality of production and acting it could be very very good,…
Saddly, I have to agree. I feel like this drama had a great potential but it’s just disappointing how it’s been executed. Maybe it’s too short (so it feels like always something’s missing) or just badly written but it doesn’t make me confused in a way “oh, I’m so curious what happened”, but more like “umm… okay”. Hard to explain.
It’s not very bad but it’s just like the heart of this drama is missing. We have good acting and chemistry, we have nice cinematography, quite interesting premise. But after episode 2 or 3 I’m just loosing interest and getting more confused as the character development is non-existent. They made nothing to make me understand the characters and their actions and I love subtlety and spending hours on character analysis. It really hurts me :(
I’m curious now who Bai Jiu may be. He literally was able to use himself as a shield against the very powerful demon to protect Pei Sijing. And what about those leaves that fell off of him right after? Plus, his blood opened the entrance? That’s super suspicious! Looking forward to his backstory.
Yess! I was kinda disappointed with the role he got in Dashing Youth but looks like here I can see a great potential for him to finally excel with both his visuals and acting skills.
I binge-watched all the episodes today, and for me, it's an absolute masterpiece. It definitely transcends the BL genre—it's more about life itself. A beautiful and deeply personal story that explores many shades of love.
It's now officially one of my absolute favorites, right next to I Told Sunset About You.
