If you're a DW's fan, you should respect DW's decision to act in this one.
DW chose this role to diversify his acting skills, as a vilian (or villian-ish) and a good grandson. DW made a good choice.
Here, DW is also in the main category, though I don't think he'll get the girl. In an interview for Lost You Forever, he was asked about how tragic Xiang Liu was. He said (or something like that...) "Let's see the upcoming tragic role Zheng Si.' (I can't provide the link as it's quite sometime ago. )
The drama is still warming up. Perhaps, we'll see more of him later.
