Even though the plots are different, both stories take place on a college campus. The characters of the respective dramas get to know each other in a natural way and become lovers that break-up. In the end, they do get back together--a happy ending. Most of all, both stories depict the growing pains of young adults and how these experiences and people form their identities.

Both dramas:

> depict a complicated love line which makes you question if the characters love each other.
> generally have a dark atmosphere with almost no light-hearted moments.
> have a female lead that is being undecided on her feelings about the ML.
> feature morally ambiguous characters, no black/white.
> depict a female lead that strives for wealth and being in an upper social class, while questioning if wealth necessarily equal happiness.
> question the definiton of love and happiness in general.
> focus on the ugly, twisted and dark side of people.
> end in a twisted, controversial way.
>are made for open-minded watchers.

It may seem like an unusual recommendation since Misty is heavily on the thriller/suspense side but if you put that away you'll see that the main focus is the complicated relationship of the OTP which strongly reminded me of WHIB throughout the whole series.

There is a strong overall cast in terms of acting and storyline. There are similarities between Fan Xian and Mei Chang Su in terms of their intelligence and are about 10 steps ahead of everyone else in the midst of all the scheming. Both series provide a good amount of political intrigue and the romance takes a back seat.

Both movies are based on true stories, and while in the Juror 8 it's the effort of the jurists, in New Trial it's about the story of the appointed lawyer for the re-trial case.

Both show the relationships between an older man and a younger woman. Their relationships aren't simple attraction, but about how the two need each other and give each other the warmth that they both desire. Day and Night is a much more dark and bittersweet movie, while Choki is more on the lighthearted and melo side.

In both dramas, the main characters are seat mates in high school. Both dramas are about a clumsy female lead and a smart male lead and their coming of age story. The male lead would tutor the female lead and they become best friends first. Although it is clear they both have feelings for each other, they are too shy to confess their feelings.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Legend of Yunxi, but overall, it was very similar to Dr. Cutie
- Although the plots are different, they focus on similar things.
- Female Dr. saves male lead
- both live in the same place (They’re married in LOY, but she’s undercover as the male leads’ Dr in Dr. Cutie)
- Both dislike each other in the beginning
- Similar love triangles and second male leads

Even though LOY is better in my opinion, Dr. Cutie has a better ending :) if you enjoyed any of these shows, you’ll love the other. They’re very similar.
